This morning at 11am EST, Ron and I are doing Part 3 of the interview that began a few weeks ago.
We plan to talk a bit about tax exemption and disconnection, but who knows, when Ron and I get together, anything can happen…

Part 2
Stacy says
Love these interviews, they are so educational.
I have a question regarding Celebrities in Scientology…Obviously Scientology wants celebrities to join for a few reasons; Notoriety and Money to name a few, but what I want to know is this…are all of the abuses that happen completely hidden from these celebrities? I mean, If these things were clearly visible to the biggest money “donors”, ie Celebrities, wouldn’t you think that they would risk exposure? Or better yet, risk losing the funding from these people who I’m sure give a TON of money to the cult? Is that why people like Tom Cruise and John Travolta are still in it? Because they are sheltered from this “dirty little secret?”
Mike Rinder says
Many of them are not really aware of what goes on. Some are informed, like Travolta, and he has a head-in-the-sand attitude “It’s helped me, I can’t speak for what others may have experienced.” Cruise knows about the abuses and even participates in them himself. He is complicit and thinks he is above judgment by lower level beings. Only Hubbard or Miscavige could censure him.
Rip Van Winkle says
BTW:
The last bit on part 3 about how the tactics Scn used to get Tax Exemption were inimical to everything a non-profit is supposed to BE to deserve tax exemption…
Powerful.
Succinct
Perfectly on point and well phrased.
Can’t thank you enough for that part.

For some reason I’m not getting emails about posts or anything for a while….not sure if my settings changed or what. I had to go back to old emails to get here. LOVE these podcasts btw…and Mike, is there going to be a season four? I sure hope so.

Cece says
Michael F is doing just fine.. not that I know anything ?
I sure hope so anyway …
Mike Rinder says
You can see him on FB
Rip Van Winkle says
thanks, I went there… lots of politics but nothing about his mindset.
No problem, it’s a passing question.
Rip Van Winkle says
how tricksey of you….
🙂
Thanks, I haven’t seen anything else in my snoops, but it’s not vital I know things. I was just hoping for him. He has a nice face.
Annie Oakley says
I really loved the first two Mike, thanks for doing these. Great job, Ron – you have a great way of keeping the stories on track and asking good questions. (But Mike I do love your “ramblings” , LOL) I am looking forward to setting aside some time to watch this 3rd installment.
Rip Van Winkle says
Off topic:
Does anyone have any information as to the current mindset of Michael Fairman?
While reading Hawkins book today, I came to a part that referred to him and my quick google search showed me that he is out, (hurrah!) but all I could find was from 2011, and his resignation letter paints him squarely in the Hubbard is a Hero camp.
I’m hoping he’s moved off that now but can find nothing recent to answer my hopeful question.
Hive mind have anything on this?
……….
Thanks for the vids and links, Mike. I look forward to hearing them all!

Those podcasts, specially #2, are really, really good.
Thanks for doing them. Ron has that great charisma as an interviewer too.

I’ve loved all of these Ron and Mike shows. Got my Mike Rinder bobblehead in the mail yesterday. Adorable! Glad to be supporting the Aftermath Foundation.
Kat LaRue says
Always awesome!
Thanks for the treat,
Tory says
My comment is where are the rest of Leah’s and mike show ? Don’t tell me scientology got to A&E
Belynda says
Tory, my thoughts exactly; seems to me they did. Does Bob Minton come to mind?
Chocolate Velvet says
Not sure what you mean by “the rest of Leah’s and mike show” — the latest season is over, that’s how TV series work. Mike wrote a post specifically addressing this question last month, I guess you did not read it. You can find it here:
https://www.mikerindersblog.org/the-aftermath-an-update/
In the meantime, implying that somehow the cult “got to A&E” has no basis in reality. As for the comparison to Bob Minton, that is just bullshit, there is no other word for it.
Robert King says
3rd season ended for this season. Hope they keep exposing the cult because the more they talk about it, the more the public will see as well as stay away from it.
(Also because it drives DM crazy)!
