A lot of friends have checked in on us in the wake of the hurricane that passed by yesterday.
Fortunately we survived unscathed. Lots of fallen branches and we lost power and donβt know when it will be restored making for a warm house, no internet or ability to cook. But those are minor discomforts in the overall scheme of things and certainly insignificant compared to the losses of so many others.
Thank you all for your thoughts and support as always.

Hi, Rinders! Glad to hear all is well in your locale. Had to evacuate the place where I was staying and the first floor, which included my room, is destroyed. Iβm currently in a Red Cross emergency shelter and taking things a day at a time! Please pray for us here in Asheville, North Carolina!

Lost power here in Tennessee for a few hours. Some roads flooded. I am sending
you and your family all my love. Hearing about the hurricane and it’s damage is/was worrying I am glad that you and yours are alright.

A camp stove and a few propane tanks help with cooking and boiling water. Also a small solar panel that folds up/out and a Jackery can keep phone and small rechargeable fans going.
Glad everyone is safe.

Glad you’re OK. Wind and water can really do a number on people and property.
Stay safe, be well.

Idea – once the dust (or water) has settled, consider getting a gas line and a gas stove. We lost power for awhile here in Ohio, and I am always so glad to have that stove. You can turn on the gas and light the burner with a match (I learned to do this at my Grandfather’s house on his very old gas stove) You can have a hot meal – important if you live up North and may lose power in winter.

Mike, thank you for the update on Helene’s effects on your family. Inconvenience and discomfort are as you’ve shared being experienced for a while but I’m so glad to hear that no permanent damage or deleterious effects have been the result of Hurricane Helene.

I was just thinking. Did Flag Land Base take any precautions? Or did Our Dear Dwarfenfuhrer tell the Sea Org to positive postulate the hurricane away?
