Last Friday night in Buffalo.
Apparently, it’s an all-hands to make a new video to hawk their “leatherbounds for Non E” program. Seems it’s really hard to sell 500 of anything in the world’s first and model Ideal Org. Just think, they have been trying to get their Non E program going for about 6 months now. Probably should have re-evaluated and have a “What the hell are we doing here?” progam by now.
But aside from that — look around in there. The place is empty. It’s not dinner time and its before “graduation”.
Double Ideal Org, millions poured into it, and here is the current scene.
That, in anyone’s terms, is a FAIL.

Mike and all who are reading and posting here, this afternoon I had what I’ll call a “DUH” moment. It is so “Duh” that I’ve Q & A’d about sharing it because I’m embarrassed at what has been my own stupidity in not seeing this right away. OK, deep breath, and here I am in all of my embarrassment.
Buffalo Org is NOT DOING their NON E. Selling leather bound Dianetics is not their Non E. What they’re actually doing is a VITAL TARGET which some “know best” has said “must be done” BEFORE they can DO Non E. We don’t even know what their NON -E formula actually is. Possibly they don’t either. This vital target has been deceptively called a NON -E “Campaign” There is no such thing in Scientology as a “campaign” based on the any of the Conditions. If there were, then we would have Danger “Campaigns”, Emergency “Campaigns” – not to mention the Lowers…it is so deceptive
If there are any lurkers being hit up to buy these leather bounds, I suggest you inquire of the seller, “What IS Buffalo Org’s Non-E formula? HOW will comm lines be found? HOW will you make yourself known? How is it that you’ve been there for 10 years and have no comm lines, or did you have comm lines and they left? What’s the story as re this NON-E you’re doing? Please give me the DETAILS of this before I give you $500 for a book I already have that you apparently must have in order to do a NON-E formula”

This video is pathetic. Those 2 women jumping around, with no shared enthusiasm from the others who are not even paying attention.. I feel so sorry for those people. I’m sure they are counting the days until their staff contract is up. I know women who were staff in Class V orgs who got pregnant so they had a good reason to not renew their contracts.

My wife was about 20 months into her 2 1/2 year staff contract at LAF when she became pregnant with our first child. I’ll tell you right now, that as far as the higher ups in that org were concerned, that wasn’t a good enough reason for her to end off on her staff post. I don’t know if they thought we’d send a newborn baby off to day care, or what, but I certainly knew that wasn’t going to happen.
My dear wife was under so much pressure to invert her dynamics, that it took every ounce of back-up on my part to help her say no to them. I’m pretty sure the E.D. of that org still thinks I’m an SP to this day, because I ‘stole’ her staff member from her.

That sums it up, LDW. I lost my desire to bring anyone into the org back in the late 1980s-early 1990s, after the advent of the IAS. At the time, I thought the center-page USA Today ads were cool, but no longer felt I could participate and contribute to the motion. And all the attacks on Eli Lilly turned out to be Miscavige just extorting settlement money from them.

Yeah, Valkov, I got to the point where I didn’t want to bring anybody by the org in about 1995. It still took until about 2009 before I was embarrassed to call myself a Scientologist. I just could not defend their actions anymore. And since when the hell is it the job of rank-and-file Scientologists to have to defend International Management’s actions?

Part of the think that the bloated HCO policy admin system has fostered over the past 40 years (and I’ve seen it first hand even when my org was full of public) is the idea that you need 100 staff to handle 10 public (I know, I know, you recruit in excess for the flood of people that the wonderful and effective promo will drive into the org). Except of course the promo never does that and with a ratio of 10 – 1 staff to public, the staff still can’t deliver decent service and still cannot complete cycles of action (bunch of SPs I guess according to Ron).
Scientology’s future? – think Christian Science in today’s world, except without the newspaper.

MR: I have made a number of sarcastic comments about the Ideal Org evolution, but those were all directed at Miscavige and various aspects of his “Strategy.” I have no sarcasm to mete out to the staff themselves of the Ideal Orgs or the aspiring Ideal Orgs. I feel terrible for them, because I know exactly what it feels like to be them. They have been so thoroughly misled, exploited and betrayed, taking advantage of their desires to help others and do some good in the world. I would like to give the poor ED of Buffalo a hug and tell her it is not her fault, she has been screwed over by Miscavige and his henchmen.
Miscavige has dispensed with the entirety of LRH Management Technology and replaced it with his rip-off, Ponzi scheme org-, staff- and public-killing technology.
The only way Buffalo, or any other org, is going to boom is through proper Evaluations done by Evaluators who conceptually know, understand and can apply LRH Tech and policy correctly, fueled by correct purpose.
We both know that Miscavige killed off Data Series technology and application long ago. It was one of his first targets. I used to do evaluations when I was in the SO, but there came a time in the early 2000s when one could not get a proper Auth of an eval. I finally threw in the towel on getting an Eval Authed in 2004 when the rejects I got from AVC stopped even making reference to LRH and referred only to things “COB said…”. The rejects were stupid beyond belief. Of course they were not from a real AVC Auth anyways, but some poor sucker in the Hole.
Similarly COB knocked out the OEC/FEBC by declaring that the volumes and courses needed a complete overhaul and then not ever getting the overhaul done. You cannot even find OEC Volumes, the Management Series (or the Tech Volumes for that matter) on the Bridge website.

I remember doing projects in Buffalo in the 80’s and 90’s when the org was busy. The building MUST have been ok then- there were students and PC’s in the org, staff still were trying to follow LRH policy to get the the Org to grow, and even OT’s in the field lent a hand to get Scientology expanding in the area. It’s painful to see LRH policy and tech replaced by off purpose orders from the top. DM has cross-ordered finance policy, eliminated the LRH Birthday Game, Black PR’d Source, altered LRH tech, caused OT’s in the Org’s field to be run by Flag rather than being active locally, used IAS to supplant doing the usual in the orgs, and continually fails to deliver what he promises.

Empty (caps, bold and underlined) and business as usual in a double Idle Org on a Friday night? It doesn’t seem like a busy area of town, from the ambient sounds picked up by the video camera.
It is interesting that one staff is carrying on with Cleaning stations while the two are gleefully jumping for joy with their books in hand – what on earth can they be possibly be communicating about in the video?
Perhaps like the Blanca video, these two need to do Dear Alice to a camera first in order to communicate successfully.

This is not a busy area of town at all. It was a dumb choice for a building when they had to move. There is NO foot traffic around this area, and the Catholic Church a few doors down takes all the street parking quickly. I check every day I drive buy (I do daily as I don’t live far from the ORG). Downtown Buffalo in general is DEAD after 5pm, as there is not much residential or retail downtown.
I visited the ORG a few months ago. I surprisingly was not given the hard sell on anything. They showed me around. It was Blanca in fact. She told me they had 80 staff members, but needed 100. She has been a Scientologist since the early 1990’s. I think she has been in Buffalo for about 4-6 Years. I know back in 2006 she was NOT on staff there. In fact no one is the same from back in 2006. that I saw. There was maybe 6 – 8 people in the course room. A few seemed to be public Scientologists, but others were staff. I was still shocked they didn’t hard sell me. Blanca only mentioned the personality test ONCE when I was leaving. I did buy something in the bookstore. Which they had to hand write a receipt. The place was dead. It was an weekday evening.
This area is about to become much busier as the local University is making the district a Medical corridor, so it will be interesting how aggressive they get with more body’s around.

Now that you have published this video, the OSA will call up the Buffalo org in a huff and they will all get some sort of major ethics trouble for allowing entheta and J&D to be produced. The “Non-existence” budget will, after several months on Miscavige’s desk, be revised to require the org to use funds raised to buy draperies so people cannot shoot video through the windows showing how empty it is any more. I predict another brilliant blow against the forces of suppression! “Curtain tech!” And of course the real VFP will be another few months of absolutely no progress in attempting to figure out why people don’t flock to the doors of these expensive facilities, in other words, why people don’t want to “buy” the “product” that RCS is “selling.”

Oh come on, Mike. We all know that those thousands of students and preclears are in the course rooms and auditing rooms right now. And the new public…well…ummmm…ummm…they are in the bathroom?
As far as the “actors” in the video… been there, done that… and all I can say is that I really hope they wake up soon and find some real happiness in life. I can tell you from experience, no matter how much they jump around and smile…they are miserable and faking whatever laughs and smiles they are putting on for the camera. They go home at night and fall asleep, happy to be at home, yet dreading the thought of having to do it all again the next day. That is not the way to fulfill one’s purposes.
Good work on the cameraman! I wonder if we will be able to see him in the background window when they release the video to the public?

Christie and I were talking last night about how nutty it is to stay doing something that is so painful, and how great it is to wake up in the morning and not DREAD going to post because it would just be another “Groundhog Day” of being berated/belittled for your incompetence (incompetent at doing insane things….)
And yet, for the longest time, not even contemplating leaving, because you really felt you were doing something useful. It is VERY difficult to comprehend for anyone that has never been there.
One of the tricks sued by Miscavige is “divide and conquer” — these staff think they are the ONLY ONES failing to live up to expectations. I am posting so much about these Ideal Orgs (and especially Buffalo on which ALL OTHER Ideal Orgs were patterned) because it so clearly documents for anyone looking that there are NOT alone and they aren’t the ONLY ONES failing.

Thanks for this, Mike. You do a great service by showing the truth of the “Ideal” orgs. I feel that one of the most pernicious lies that had been ground into staff (speaking from staff experience in the mid ’70s-early ’80s, and observation since that time) was that the grass be exponentially greener in every other org on the planet; it’s just this particular org/person that is downstat/evil/CI; everyone/place else is doing oh-so-much better. What a held-down 7 lie generator, guaranteed to prevent accurate assessment and handling.
