As has become usual now, BEFORE the show finished airing scientology had a new webpage up attacking the contributors, and deployed their twitter and Facebook bots to announce to the world that the people who appeared on the show were some very bad hombres.
Of course, nothing to respond to the CONTENTS of the show. That would not be scientology.
Strictly ad hominem.
And some of their ad hom is REALLY low, even for scientology.
I had wondered whether they would focus on me and Leah due to the nature of the show. But they just couldn’t resist going after Bruce Hines — proclaiming him a “pervert” and claiming that it “won’t end well” when the Walt Disney Co. finds out about this “star” of the show.
As “proof” of his horrendous perversion they pulled out some old “O/W” write ups and a signed “confession” when Bruce left the Sea Org. BTW, these signed “confessions” are works of art. Someone comes up with an overt in sec checking to try to end the interrogation: “I borrowed a pencil from my sister and she didn’t know about it.” This gets written – by OSA or Security staff – into the “confession” document as “I have a history of theft and I did it all for selfish personal gain knowing it was a violation of scientology ethics codes.” It’s sort of “true”, there is SOMETHING kind of like it I admitted to at one point, and I cannot get out of here unless I sign this document. Who cares what they have in their files — I just need to get the hell out of here. And so the “confession” is signed. I have seen literally hundreds of these things. They are embellished, self-serving, disgusting documents that any normal church would be embarrassed to be associated with.
And the most egregious pencil borrowing they have to label him an “admitted pervert” is that he tried to see a woman’s breast “through the somewhat see-through top she had on.” And that he had “flirted with women.” OMFG. Call in the sex crimes unit. Stop the presses. This is earth shattering news. THIS is what scientology considers a “sexual pervert”?
They trot out a bunch of SO members who all repeat the same thing “Bruce was a pervert” — they have 3 women who say “he stood next to me on the bus and it was creepy” or “he looked at me, it was inappropriate.” Literally.
THIS is what they use to claim Bruce is an “an Admitted Pervert” with a “History of Sick Sexual Acts.” And this is the BEST they have, because clearly they have no problem extracting information from Bruce’s confidential scientology files and if there was anything else in there they would have used it.
These people give yellow journalism a bad name.
And their horror descends into full on righteous indignation with a pull quote in large print:
The Church has zero tolerance on those very rare occasions when it discovers immoral conduct on the part of its clergy, and the fact is that its leadership moves swiftly and forcefully to protect its parishioners. Hines was that very rare occasion: making sexual advances toward women he was ministering to, acting as a peeping Tom and exposing himself to women.
Yeah, right. They are trying to cover up the fact that if Bruce Hines was such a horrendous pervert they had him at the highest levels of scientology, auditing the biggest celebrities. They did not boot him out. He LEFT.
And we know how scientology “moves swiftly and forcefully to protect its parishioners” – UNLESS of course they are children in the Sea Org who have been molested by their minders. Or are big money givers. Or are Sea Org executives who have NOT spoken out against scientology. Some of these instances have come to light in the season so far. There is more to come. Scientology actively COVERS up immoral conduct, that is what the evidence shows. And it is a pattern and practice of this organization.
One of the most remarkable things about scientology is they will, without shame, accuse others of doing precisely what they do.
- They destroy families so they accuse others of doing so.
- They take people’s money with fraudulent promises and accuse others of “doing it for money”.
- They spread literal HATE about anyone that says things they don’t like while accusing them of being haters.
It is plain for the world to see.

Like Mike said where are the responses on not the people – but the subject matter?
That’s what I was curious to see, but no pretty weak. We can all laugh about the bullshit allegations on Bruce (whom btw way I had a very workable relationship with when I was an auditor at Orange County, and Bruce was at the Snr CS Int office), Ronit, Leah’s mom etc. But the people who will totally believe it are the people still in, oh yes they will believe it all of it to the tee.

It seems to me that any who criticize the cult on Aftermath (or anyone really) all suffer from the same evil behaviors….sex pervert, abusive, adulterous, thief. Are these the only transgressions they can come up with? I thought I’d provide a list for DM to choose from so he can broaden his accusations and give some diversity to the issue:
– invading the privacy of others
– unlawful survelience of private citizens
– Harrassment of public/private citizens
– Disturbing the peace
– Racism
– Bigotry
– Attempt to undermine other’s rights under the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution
– Commit fraud
– Tax evasion
– Bullying
– unlawfully detain and imprison others
– Failure to comply with Mandating Reporting requirements for Suspected Child Abuse
– Withhold medical/psychological treatment from those in need
– providing psychotherapy without a license.
– Violating laws that require children to attend school or receive state approved curriculum.
– Violation of child labor laws
– Violation of labor laws, in general.
– Using organization funds for personal use and non-organizational expenditures
– Transferring funds to off-shore accounts to shelter and avoid reporting
– Unlawful Ponzi scheme practices
– Falsly publish fiction novels as “non-fiction” for the sole purpose of manipulating masses to prosper a few.
I’m sure there are other transgressions that DM can claim of others….come on, DM, I thought you were creative…

I just now realized why David Miscavige is so blind in the bubble. He’s like one of those World War ll guys whose been hiding in some mountain still thinking the war is on but it’s 1995. The guy has no idea what’s going on.
So here’s my realization:
I just googled “Leah Remini” and the Scientology thug site cane up first. Immediately I see the Leah’s father’s video. I then realized that Dave is getting family members to berate Mike, Leah and the rest.
Aftermath is about abuse and given voice to the abused. Leah and Mike never talk bad of their family. Never.
These family members, speaking the way they do with a mind numbing homogeneous scripted tone, are demonstrating right before our eyes, how Scientology is destructive to the family.
All of these family members, all of them, are demonstrating what I wrote in The GE is a Family Man. Sure these family members are being pressured by OSA. But these family members could say,”up yours Miscavige” and not do it.
These videos, with all these families degrading themselves, are demonstrating the ugliness that Scientology makes people into.
Aftermath never attacks Mike’s or Leah’s family. Aftermath is not attacking anybody. Aftermath is giving voice to abuse.
And Mike and Leah’s family are giving voice and proof that Scientology is a societal pariah and very destructive to the family dynamic.
They’re just a bunch of psycho GE’s! On to a clear planet ?!! Disgusting!!

You mentioned in your article on the OT Levels (which I loved BTW):

What method do you use? What books or methods would you recommend to the curious spiritual seeker?
Whatever you do, it’s sure made you a wise man who can truly see.
Thanks much!

It is actually a good thing that scientology works the data to get the anti-critic videos at the top of the search engine listings. Because the proof of their evil tactics are laid bare, right there, for the entire world to see.
Let scientology continue to be its worst enemy.

IF they had nothing to defend, they wouldn’t feel it necessary to “slam” everyone who has stepped forward with their tales of life on the inside. One might understand if only one person came forward….but to hear, see, view all this documentation…..that’s gotten to the organization in a really big way.
Through it all…their VERY OWN COB has yet to come forward publicly on TV with his “personal declaration” to defend his “cherch”. All we’ve ever seen is the constant banner of “The Church Challenges”…….Well then, SHOW YOURSELF DAVID M.
Christine says
I think that the last episode shows why it’s important to make people who want to leave feel comfortable. They have people who are telling them that they are just going fail, fall ill or any other number of maladies. Ronit and Yassi had the strength to know they would be ok ( I am so happy their family is intact), even if the memories are painful they did it. It seems ironic that you build this “bridge” with people only to tear them down when they have issues. It’s not just stupid or gullible people who fall for this. A formula was put in place that works, plain and simple. There is no shame in looking back and asking why didn’t I see those issues. They keep people in a bubble and sadly people like Bruce’s sister are victims that pay the ultimate price, for no good reason. My heart goes out to him. that being said someone questioning might watch and a life or a family could be saved.

Mike, I have a question: (sorry, this is getting long)
If the church routinely violates the Priest-Penitent Privilege of PC folders, could that be used against them as regards to tax status and their ability to hide behind the first amendment?
There are various (obvious) ways in which the Church of Scientology doesn’t behave like a church, they get away with all these hate websites and regging under the lie of “donations” and so on. But the sanctity of the confessional seems to be a core aspect of gaining religious recognition.
I was an exec working in a class V org when it came down that we were to use these special new stamps on all PC folders. We had rubber stamps which said, “confidential, Priest-Penitent Privilege” and we were to immediately stamp ALL folders with this and to use it for all new folders.
This was in response to the raids that had taken place wherein PC folders had been seized – and there was some hand rubbing with glee as we’d come upon a way to thwart the evil doers from grabbing the folders in a raid, or from keeping them, from looking in them or using the information, and so on.
…….
I hear that the church uses PC folder info and violates their own rules. I don’t know if it’s actually true, or if they build in weasel room by getting the confessions in HCO Sec Checks or ethics O/W write ups.
From my understanding, the only sacrosanct confessions are things confessed in a regular auditing session. Things written up in an O/W write up are NOT protected. You CAN be hit for them. This is per written policy and tech.
We all know, (but non scios don’t) that there is no difference between the way a regular confessional is run and an HCO style confessional, except for two important points: at the beginning of an HCO Confess the auditor says, “I am not auditing you” – and that it is known to all that anything confessed is “ACTIONABLE”. Actionable means that every single thing is written up in a Knowledge report and is sent to Ethics Section. A Ethics officer sees the PC after and has him do “handings” for his bad actions.
At the beginning of session we get “ruds flown”, in which we are asked for overts. Overts confessed in this type of session are protected. Overts given off routinely in session are protected.
…
While getting onto OT VII and then doing 6 month confessional checks, I noticed something that gave me pause. Something would come up in a regular session, get confessed. THEN LATER, doing HCO style sec checks (confessionals) I would be asked questions designed to elicit the information previously gotten off.
Example: confess to stealing an apple in session.
Later, during sec checks, asked about stealing apples. No read, nothing there, that was handled, right? But THEN…. I get TEN MORE QUESTIONS…I get question after question after question…. all designed to GET THAT OVERT re-confessed in THIS session, this session that is NOT protected speech.
This happened quite a few times and I became suspicious. I of course told myself they were just being thorough and they wanted to make sure I was “clean” on this for my own benefit, so I could get case gain.
But after awhile, and especially during this one particular run of sessions, it really seemed to me that they just wanted to go over allllll the stuff confessed in protected sessions and get it on record in a way they could use against me if needed. I got asked the questions, got the questions re-worded 17 ways, trying to “get a read”, trying to get something they could dig into, then nope, I’m just FNing the question – then NEXT SESSION they come back as ASK AGAIN, with MORE variations. It just then became clear that the C/S wanted this shit on record. (Some of this stuff was truth rundown crap from reading internet stuff.)
So my basic suspicion is that they may not actually violate PC folders. They may just wangle it until you get the confession repeated in a non-protected form – HCO sec check, Ethics Interview, O/W write up, and then they use that on hate websites or smears or goldenrod issues etc.
……….
then again, maybe they’re just lying evil assholes and as soon as you leave you are no longer protected by he Priest-Penitent Privilege.
………
I was thinking that if we had any evidence of something broadly promoted which had been confessed ONLY in a regular session, perhaps it could be used against them.
……….
I’m very appalled at the hate websites. It’s beyond the pale. It makes me ashamed and embarrassed that I ever was a part of the group. It’s dirty fighting. It’s despicable.
Teen says
Very insightful theory on how they may get around the confidentiality. Andy you’re right…dispictable and, I’ll add, tortuous… Sounds like a POW interrogation.
CS says
I’ll vote for “b,” but unless or until co$ becomes totally transparent the distinction won’t matter. The public believes co$ uses priviledged information gained in “Priest-Penitent” relationship. Co$ can scream “no,” all they want but no one in the public will believe them. Especially now that it is being so fully exposed.
Eh=Eh says
HCO Sec checks are suppressive, imho Making on pay for them is even more so.
Cindy says
Wow, I see what you mean, Secret For Now. I think you’re right that this is how the church gets around the Priest Penitent Privledged information of a real session. Before the HCO Sec Checks they use the preamble, “I’m not auditing you.” So since it isn’t “a session” they can use the stuff divulged later to spread Black PR about you if you speak out. This is diabolical.
Org-rat 1003 says
If you have to get to OT IX just to find out who you are yourself how does CultOfSci know who all these people are really.
I Yawnalot says
Little bit sideways on the topic but my family spies just informed me my OT8 brother in law in now in Texas as a VM. He flew there from LA a few days ago. He PAID for his OWN flight and accomos. As I find out more I’ll let you know but word in the family is they are concerned he’ll be heavily regged to “help” once he is on the ground doing whatever they do. He’s in his 70s, so I wonder who will be helping who done there?
It’s great he wants to help out but I just don’t trust the Cof$, not even a little bit to assist those in genuine despair, they will extract as much money from him as they can, that I do know.

WhatAreYourCrimes says
Sounds like your brother-in-law’s heart is in the right place, but his tech is useless. I hope he one day can shake off that real-life body thetan called scientology. Good luck to him.
Mary Beth Wylie says
I Yawnalot – I just read one of their Volunteer Ministry posts on their “news” page and they said they paid for all expenses of their VMs. I actually believed they may have made a CHANGE. I should have known better because under a picture of about 10 small bags packed into the tiny grocery store buggy it was captioned “Buying supplies for thousands of hygiene kits.” It was very misleading. I will never understand DMs greed and lack of empathy. Never.
I Yawnalot says
Wow… oh wow. To anyone monitoring this, I tried to find out more from other family members (bit hard form so far away and contradictions are many) about the expenses aspect and how it’s all going. One member said exactly the opposite and that the Church did pay his air fare, so I just don’t know for sure. The really icky thing both my wife and I ran into with this was the utter contempt for the Cof$ now being openly displayed by other family members who were never in or got out years ago. The church has got such a terrible reputation now and the two OT8s are literally silent on their involvement and have been for sometime, hence the speculation about the expenses, it was just assumed the Cof$ never gives anything back. I was actually taken aback by one relative who has never said a bad word about anyone that I know of, she really ripped into what the Cof$ has done to her sister in law and her hubby and how their lives are so secretive and they are so hard to socialise with. Mike, your work with Leah is getting out there.
I did learn that the VM I’m referring to is a trained and certified “first responder.” He has only a small bag plus his sleeping bag and is out there. He’s well over 70 and has his family worried as he didn’t tell anyone he was going, except his OT8 wife who didn’t want him to go. What a messy situation.
Cindy says
I Yawnalot, thanks for that crucial information. It proves the church lied when it said that IAS will pay all volunteer minister’s expenses. Why does this not surprise me?
Ms.P says
After this episode I can’t help but think how lucky I am that I didn’t continue past OTIII. After the revelations of the “EP” of OT 8 I have a few questions for all OTVIII on this blog. Vicky stated that after this level she was done. We don’t know the specifics communicated to her family afterwards. Knowing myself I also would have walked away after that EP. And I wouldn’t have pushed the rest of my family up the bridge, unlike many OT 8’s I have known. Question:
– After completing OT 8 did you have the same realization that you were done like Vicky?
– If so, how did you go about it? And if not, what made you continue?
– If you had family or friends moving up the bridge what were your thoughts about them continuing and did you want to tell them not to bother?
– Many have been told after OT 8 to go back and redo OT 7 and other levels. If you did, how did you reconcile this to be ok after bogus OT 8 EP?
I’d appreciate any feedback, I have tons of questions but will keep it simple.
georgemwhite says
In July 1988 I completed OT 8 – the one in which Hubbard claimed that he would return in the role of the anti-Christ. I left Scientology a few months after that narrative. I did not want my kids or my wife in Scientology.
Newcomer says
-Very similar. I knew I was done and would never return to the freakwinds.
-I smiled, and f/ned as necessary because I knew I was done. I was happy to know this.
-I tried to do what I could to get friends and family to look. I failed at this which was a surprise because I thought it would be a self evident truth.
-I was told to do several things; Ls, preps for Oh Tea Niner, anything which would keep me ‘on lines’. I didn’t do anything. I knew I was done. I put a fork in myself to be sure!
otviii2late says
Same. OTVIII was horrible. I walked away forever after that. Some great culmination to the bridge that you lose your most loyal long-time members because the service is so bad. I just quietly faded out–it was easier that way. You can’t tell other family or friends unless you want to risk the wrath of them reporting you and getting you both in trouble. But I did drop serious hints. Fortunately, many in my circle were figuring it out for themselves. Here’s a long comment I made yesterday but it bears repeating:
OT8 was the beginning of the end for me.
I remember finally completing a long, gruesome OT8 which I thought would never end, stepping off the ship that I never thought I would ever escape, into the sunshine and thinking finally, now THIS is freedom. I had finally escaped that hellhole and OT8. That was my EP. I vowed that under no circumstance would anybody ever take my money, my freedom and my mind like that again. And with that, I stepped not just away from the ship, but away from Scientology forever. Thanks to the bullshit of OT8.
Simply put, the end phenomenal of OT8 is supposed to be freedom from amnesia on the whole track, clearly indicating an expectation that you will recall everything that’s ever happened to you from the beginning of time. It’s actually the opposite. You end up with no memories at all of your whole track and instead run some more BTS with the recognition that it’s their lives, not yours being run and that’s it. It’s so short and unsatisfying–a massive financial rip off. I ran the same version as Vicki, Luis and Mary. What you have here is correct.
The longest and most gruelling part is all the setups. When you arrive you are told that this is a whole new Org and they are starting from scratch. So after you have spent weeks or months and paid many tens of thousands of dollars and are on a euphoric high from completing OT7, you are made to go immediately to do OT8 where they take a baseball bat to your head and crush you back on down to being ethics bait and sec check the life out of you.
They go back to the beginning and review all your ethics and auditing and use it as an excuse to delve back into every bad thing they conceived you have ever done and you grind on and on and on–on things that have already been handled a long time ago, many times over. In my case, I also had a newly minted golden age auditor who is truly the only really awful auditor I’ve had. And of course that cost me even more, paying for intensive after intensive because of how out of communication, angry and accusative he was towards me in session. He had no clue how to audit.
I got physically sick from the duress and the stress of being kept against my will with the tap full open pouring out money that I didn’t have. I’ve never felt as crushed as a human being as OT8 made me feel. I remember my helplessness and despair thinking that I could not see a way past my illness, despondency and captivity in order to achieve what they want from me so I can get the hell out of here. It destroyed me.
The only good that came out of it is that I had hit the top of the bridge and realized that’s all there is–and it’s worse than I thought. Freedom is what you have outside of Scientology, not in it. It made me walk away forever.
Moxie says

WhatAreYourCrimes says
Scientologists have a duty to boycott the sponsors of A&E’s Aftermath.
Sorry Tom Cruise, your own “church” members are obligated to boycott your movie, just like all of the anti-scientologists and human rights advocates. Your ONLY option at this point, Mr. Cruise, is to abandon scientology, hold a press conference, and then try to become a guest on Leah Remini’s important project.
Harpoona Frittata says
The corporate cherch is big on accusing others of being intolerant religious bigots, but they’re the ones who are at war with the Indies, NOT the ex-member community, most of whom who no longer believe in $cn.
Notice who was NOT seated around that big round table on Tuesday’s episode? Yep, it’s the corporate cherch that’s so intolerant and bigoted toward these Indy $cilons, not us! The cult could have sent a rep and I’m sure they would have been respectfully included in the conversation, but they didn’t because, umm…XENU! These cowed and craven $cilons can’t even admit to $cn’s most fundamental beliefs which form the foundation of the entire upper bridge.
Now that we know for sure that OT 3 won’t kill you, or even make you ill, there’s absolutely no GOOD reason not to tell parishioners what the cherch’s deepest beliefs actually are. The only reason for continuing to do so now is to keep newbie $cilons from running away screaming when they hear such obviously made up, bad sci fi nonsense.

Chocolate Velvet says
You know, I have been watching and criticizing the cult for a very long time, and at this point none of the bullshit they spout to attempt to discredit critics is surprising to me. Nor do I think it is effective in any way. In fact, judging by the reactions I see on social media, it only affirms to the general public that the COS is exactly what its critics say it is, and does exactly what its critics say it does. However, that stuff about Bruce Hines pisses me off, because I met the man a couple of years ago and I liked him very much, there was nothing creepy or perverted about him. I am a damn good judge of character, and he struck me as very intelligent, thoughtful, and perceptive, very kind and open. A decent fellow who certainly does not deserve the label of “pervert” because of normal human thoughts and feelings. How telling that scientology would label basic human sexuality as perverse. This, while their dear leader David Miscavige has apparently been getting it on with his assistant while his wife is cloistered away in some mountain compound doing penance for the sin of independent thought and action. Now *that* is sick.
Artoo45 says
I think we all know how deeply broken Hubbs was around his relationship with women and sexuality in general. Very, very broken. So, like every other aspect of his personality, that too was projected outward onto his organization and its malignant canon. He wouldn’t know healthy 2D if it bit him on his large, saggy ass.
Aquamarine says
Right, Velvet. To say the cult has a double standard on the 2D is beyond being a gross understatement.
David Miscavige remains married so that a divorce doesn’t hurt his reputation while openly consorting with his Communicator. Tom Cruise lived unmarried with Katie Holmes and tied the knot with her only after the baby she bore him was 6 months old. All fine, but then… Bruce Hines is a pervert for having looked at woman’s chest. Tom Cruise banished his teenage niece from his estate to get her ethics in for kissing a boy,…amazing. Really, there are no words. What planet do these people live on? No words.
WhatAreYourCrimes says
Answer: Teegeeack.

Thank you again, Mike. This episode was a stellar one, between the explanation of The Bridge and having the round table discussion with Leah’s mother, the Charnys and Bruce Hines. Your work is much appreciated by all.
As far as Scientology goes, they continue to perfectly exemplify “shooting yourself in the foot” and “cutting off your nose to spite your face.” I hope they keep on track with that – – their ridiculous attempts to discredit former members will help to expose what they truly are and bring them down.

Doug Parent says
The Church of Scientology’s slanderous allegation that Bruce Hines was a pervert got me thinking about Hubbards various definitions of “sex”. Since they claim the moral high ground lets have a look. Definition number 1 specifically. (fair use)( Dianetics and Scientology Technical dictionary.) “Sex, 1. the bodies single effort to make something out of nothing is resident in sex, and in this culture at our time sex is a degraded and nasty thing thing which must be hidden at best and babies are something not to have but prevented.” ………gosh. It seems as though the culture in Scientology has gone down to the level of “this culture”. Perhaps Scientology has a misunderstood word somewhere in this definition and as a result think that good old Ron MEANT FOR THEM to perpetuate these “down-tone” attributes? Forced abortions anyone? Bueller? Scientology practices regarding sexual activity is draconian and over-the-top punitive. It strips away the normal aspect of humanity that includes sexuality as a normal expression of self. Yet there are stories abound of sexual misconduct among Sea Org members on a regular basis. Apparently people are imprisoned on the RPF for kissing the wrong person. Scientology has no ground to stand on, for they themselves are morally bankrupt.
Just Hummin' Along says
“You cannot make this stuff up,” I long for the day a Court of Law says this to Scientology.
I’m always amused at just how loudly and strongly they proclaim (through the smear campaigns) that the “tech” just isn’t powerful enough to work on some people or that others can overcome it even after years of being in.
Blah, Blah, Blah!
Harpoona Frittata says
Right about now, the only way that lil davey can go anywhere out in public is when he’s wearing his Terl mini-me costume (which totally pisses him off because it flattens down his pompadour something awful), so he’s following Elron’s Run and Hide tech to a tee so far!
He doesn’t seem to have a set residence anymore either, but instead, appears to be secretly scurrying from one luxurious bunker to another, just so he’s not spotted in transit and can stay one step ahead of the authorities, in case he needs to disappear on short notice.
I’d like to suggest to still-in $cilons that they make sure to tune in next Tues. to watch the next episode of The Aftermath, which will focus in on CoB’s violent and sadistic behavior, as reported by one of his long-time thug enforcers at the Int base, who personally witnessed and/or was ordered to engage in felony assault, false imprisonment and assorted other crimes and morally despicable behavior, before he escaped the cult himself and, it appears, regained his conscience and moral compass.
Moxie says
“he’s following Elron’s Run and Hide tech to a tee so far!”

Harpoona Fritta, (love the name) you said it he is running scared. Jeffers another cult leader was caught trying to skirt authorities, just like lil’daveyis trying to do. Social media will out him there are too many peeps out there wanting to nail him and the ones that stand by him. To all hands abandon ship.
Todd Cray says
Interesting! So when you notice a transparent top–something VERY MUCH designed to be noticed–that is somehow “perverted” (i.e. an “abnormal” behavior). I wonder what they would say about someone NOT noticing? Most likely, that they are a “homosexual pervert.” Either way, it totally shoots this individual’s credibility. NOTHING they say can be believed once they peeked–or failed to peek.
Now that this is established, what about the credibility of an adulterer, bigamist, spousal abuser and dead-beat “dad?” One who likes to have all of his whims serviced by pre-teens and teens clad in hot pants and halters? Well, they get to be “Source,” of course!
Or how about someone who disappears his wife so that he can carry on with his assistant? Let’s make this one COB!
S. Tredway says
I am a never-in. A strange twist of fate, an extended family member living near San Jacinto read Leah’s book and decided to drive up and down the road outside of the Int base in case somebody needed help escaping. So I did some research (and read Leah’s book as well) and found Mike Rinder and Tony Ortega and the A & E series. I am appalled by the cruelty and criminality of this so-called church. It is a prison camp with slave labor, beatings, sleep deprivation, and bad nutrition. That anyone ever wakes up and escapes is a miracle and a testament to the human spirit. I admire Mike and Leah for their courage, and kudos to all the guests who have shared their shame and sadness for millions of people to see. I hope you brave people can bring the C of S down. If I could ask LRH and DM one question it would be: how can you clear the planet of war and criminality with cruelty and enemy patterning?
RK says
The video testimonies seem professionally produced and well-rehearsed. Too rehearsed. I suspect that they hired or selected actors. They don’t have the feel of true interviews with real people with real emotion. They don’t give their names. It is disgusting. Something a real religion would not engage in. They did not address the content of the show – the cost, the time, the science fiction, and the punchline of OT VIII. Scientology is a scam.
Gus Cox says
Scripted, rehearsed… funny, that’s just what the accuse Leah of doing. Assholes.
Johnny Tank (Forever Autumn) says
The hate-sites, contradictions of what scientology says and does, PI usage by scientology, and the threat letters that scientology sends to stop media from printing/airing anything negative of them should be an entire episode by itself.
PeaceMaker says
I want to add a response that occurred to me after reading a comment that I can’t readily find again.
One of the sad underlying realities in the Scientology situation, is that the members have absolutely no say in the running of the “church,” and no way to ask for accountability or possibly even change in the wake of misdeeds and management failures. Ministers and especially the top ecclesiastical levels have some influence and ability to push back or even demand change in relatively hierarchical or even authoritarian religions, but the CofS appears to be an absolute strongman operation – which is grossly in violation of their agreement with the IRS, among other breaches.
Joetheta says
Yes PeaceMakedr, David Miscavaige, aka ” COB”, the only Chairman Of The Board, I’ve ever seen that has no board. No board of directors means no checks and balances, no accountability to anyone.
Yet no Scientologist will ever question that.
Doug Parent says
You are correct. CUSTOMERS in Scientology have no recourse so they leave. Miscavige knows once they get on the Internet the jig is up and hence no reason to give them refunds or repayments either. It’s a total criminal operation.
Old Surfer Dude says
It’s always been a criminal organization. It just got worse under the dwarf.

I found it pretty ironic that when I watched the last episode there was a commercial for Tom Cruises new movie…..wow just wow

i noticed that. So is Tom Cruise one of the sponsors of the episode? His movie paid for the advertising, right? I LOL’d.
Old Surfer Dude says
Tommy has some ‘splaining’ to do.

Mike, thanks for all your communication on the church and its critics both on TV and on this blog. I know from experience that your account of how O/W’s are discovered, magnified with lies and then published is correct. It was done to me BEFORE I even was aware what the O/W was I was supposed to cognite I had. A real thorough brainwashing type of procedure. Very corrupt and very perverted in nature. Clear and OT staff did this and still do this. It is very sad. 🙂
T-Marie says
I’m one of those people that doesn’t watch their smear videos or look at their smear websites. I’m curious though, where are they posting these things and who is actually watching them? I know you guys are, obviously, but are non-exes seeing these links and watching these?
I know how slimy they are and I appreciate that YOU watch and report on this, so I don’t have to actually watch them and experience their drama and lies and defamation of good people.
Anybody who’s left the so-called church and spoken out in any way, myself included, knows that they’ll be bad-mouthed and lied about. And here’s the proof of it.
Old Surfer Dude says
It’s pretty much for their members. That way the dwarf can say, ‘See! We’re kicking their asses.’
Gus Cox says
They are for the sheep, uh, “parishioners” to watch. And they lap that crap right up.
Ex_aedibus says
I think that as more and more people understand the modus operandi of Scientology and its response to critics, they will just ignore them. I have been impressed by the people you’ve had on the show. Sure, it takes great courage to come forward, especially knowing that they’ll soon be victims of Scientology’s attack dogs.
Scientology can say whatever they want. For myself and for many of your viewers, the people you’ve featured have come across to me as intelligent and very credible. Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, and David Miscavige have no credibility. L. Ron Hubbard was a brilliant, though deeply disturbed individual. Many of his writings reflect that fact.
God bless you and Leah Remini for what you are doing. You are giving a voice to the feelings of a lot of people who have otherwise not dared to come forward. God bless those who have come forward.
KFrancis says
Ronit Charny was mean? Well I’m sure David Miscavige glowed with pride when he heard this given his rich history of punching and slapping Sea Org. Members.
I spent many hours receiving auditing from Ronit after she left the church and I found her to be anything but mean. Ronit was always very welcoming, did a beautiful job auditing me and even offered to continue auditing me at no charge when money got tight. She saw that I was doing well and wanted to get me completed on my program and was not worried about the money.
Ronit is lovely and decent to the core. David Miscavige………not so much.
Faith P says
This week’s episode and bonus features of last week cleared a LOT up for me.
1) I had been wondering if anyone ever walked into a Scientology center and said, “hey! I’m here to continue my billion year contract – this is my 4th life!” Now I know children are told from a young age that they’re reincarnated
2) I always wondered what “clearing the planet” meant. Thanks Leah for clarifying the clear lol
3) Why is OT VIII the highest when you can clearly see it goes higher than that? And now I know why after last night.
Great episode. I have many more questions – some which Google has helped (like why does Scientology use a cross??) as well as Leah’s amazing (and hilarious!) book – and looking forward to finding those answers!
Lynda Castell-Blanch says
I loved the info last night about the Bridge. Gave greater understanding, but I was confused with the two guests who “got away” but are still Scientologists….how does THAT work? Aren’t you either in or out? What part of Scientology do they still believe in? Xenu? Auditing? I thought that was weird. But I admired Leah and Mike for allowing them on even though they are still Scientologists. But it was confusing.
Gus Cox says
Some people still practice Scientology, but have left the official “church.” They are generally referred to as Independent Scientologists. They feel that they get positive results from the theory and practices as written by Hubbard, but want no part of the physical and financial abuse, private investigators, and alteration of Hubbard’s materials being perpetrated by David Miscavige and His minions.
As for what parts they still believe in, that varies. Some think the stuff up to clear is very useful but the OT levels are not. Some think all of it is good, but the management stuff is BS. They’re independent; they can pick and choose whatever without getting sent to Ethics and charged thousands of dollars for the privilege. (Oooh, looky, I worked a semicolon in there!!!)
I no longer have anything to do with scientology in any way, shape, or form. But I have no problem with people who want to continue studying and auditing outside of the official regime. Some are my friends, and we simply disagree on whether the “Tech” works. But we’re still friends. It’s the abusive *behaviour* of official scientology that is the problem.
However, the management of official scientology has a huuuuuge problem with Independent Scientologists. Indies get harassed and bothered and disconnected from as much or more than anti-scientologists.
CS says
Just to add to a great explanation:
Just as Scientologists call never-ins WOGS
Independent Scientologists are called “squirrels”
I believe that term was used in the comments here this week. Or at least in emoji form.

He looked at a woman!!! OMFG!! He should be castrated. Immediately! Seriously though, as much as I hate they are attacking contributors to the show, they are proving those contributors right with their actions. I’m almost embarrassed for current Scientologists. ALMOST. DM is digging a deep hole and he’s a really tiny f*cker. He won’t be able to get himself out of this hole this time. I have a feeling his time is limited.
Moxie says
Okay, I admit it. I once looked at a naked female breast. Cost me an intensive.
Cindy says
This reminds me of a true event. At Flag someone came to me with their Liability Formula to sign so as to ask for re-entry into the group. I read that he had paid for a lap dance at a gentlemen’s club and he said this was bad and he was bad for doing it. To make up the damage, he paid for his wife to get two intensives of auditing. I went home to my husband and told him, “Hey, I need some auditing, can you go get a lap dance?” lol
Moxie says
That’s funny. People in Scientology are in such a hijacked state of mind that they feel they have to be forgiven for the stupidest shit. I know, I was once like that too.
Joetheta says
Funny ,that reminds me of a time many years ago when I was in a Gentlemen’s Club in Tampa. I saw another Scn from Flag. He freaked when he saw me and ran the other way.
I thought ,why would I rat him out ? I’m here too ??
Moxie says

How can they claim Religious Freedom when they are using things said under the cloak of religion against a person? If I tell my church something in confidence looking for spiritual guidance and they use that as gossip (which is basically what they are doing) they can not call themselves a “church” of any kind, its an entity that blackmails its members into silence as it coerces money out of them.
Doug Parent says
“..its an entity that blackmails its members into silence as it coerces money out of them.” If it’s not fun or not fraud it’s not Scientology.
TrevAnon says
Mike, you write: “These people give yellow journalism a bad name.”
Now I’m no expert in English, I think many of you know I’m Dutch.
But wouldn’t it be more appropriate to write “These people give yellow journalism a good name.”

OMG. Bruce Hines flirted with a woman, and looked at her “somewhat see-through” blouse? Honestly, who does that? I am totally shocked by his extreme behavior and I will immediately discount anything he says, not to mention anything you or Leah says. Mike, how could you even talk to such a person? Thank goodness that DM is around (somewhere, not sure where) to set me straight.
PeaceMaker says
And if that woman ever ends up defecting and disconnected, and in Bruce Hines’ situation, Scientology can then produce a video blaming and slut-shaming her for having worn things like a “somewhat see-through” blouse.
It reminds me of kindergarten playground name-calling – and a lot of their other lying is on pretty much the same level, including their general two-wrongs-make-a-right type thinking. Maybe even just pre-school.
Gravitysucks says
Agreed, Peacemaker. Pre-school nannynannybooboo.
I Yawnalot says
There you go, you went and rattled their cage again, didn’t you Mike!
Their despicable attempt to discredit someone by using their priest penitent information publically says it all really.
The Church of Scientology is its own zoo. They literally have all their members & staff in mental cages.
Old Surfer Dude says
What’s the word? It’s right on the tip of my tongue. Oh yeah. I got it. Scumbag!

And they themselves confirmed what is said about them. Information gained during auditting is filed away, and used for blackmail later.
Co$ just confirmed it! Again
A lot of sports analogies can go here like playing for the other team, unforced errors, old out of date play book, etc.
COB you sure you don’t want to appear on Aftermath? Your underlings are failing, maybe this needs the touch of the only person, besides LRH, who knows how to get things done right.

Totally OT but I’m just a little bit concerned Mike. Without giving away anything about your status that you deem personal are you safe from the threat of deportation? It’s a word that’s been thrown around a great deal lately and perhaps you’ve already answered the question. If so forgive me. It’s just that a great many of us would be devastated should we have to do without you here to continue your work. We know a blog can continue from anywhere, but Aftermath would struggle unless you and Leah were remain a team.
Jill Hunter says
Mike, if that becomes an issue I would adopt you. Of course you are a couple of years older than I am, but what the hell……
gtsix says
Mike is a proud US citizen!
FLP says

Barbara Carr says
I get your meaning, but that’s not an automatic pass.

No, it’s not automatic. You’re right. My ex husband found this out when his 2nd wife was going to be deported because they hadn’t filed any paperwork or gone through the interviews for even a green card.

I found it interesting some commercials that ran during this episode. One was for Tom Cruise’s movie and another was for American Horror Story season titled Cult.

Funny, I keep getting ads (watching on aetv.com) for restaurants in Italy! They look pretty good, tho.
Ginny Flahive says
WOW .. The COS sure attracts a lot of bad hombres… With so many attorneys, and the use of the e – meter, etc, they should have been able to screen who they hired to work in their organization, before hiring them. In my business, we do thorough checks and screenings on new hires, so that we don’t have H.R. problems and people quitting at the rate that plagues the C of S.
Moxie says
Yes Ginny, but do you have an org board, LRH admin tech and a WISE guy (er, group) to standardly run your business? ?
nomnom says
The COS turns good hombres into bad hombres. With few exceptions, when they leave, they go back to being good.
Doug Parent says
The only type of response from the church that would make sense ( if they weren’t screwing people over ) would be along the lines: ” We are concerned about the issues these formers members are bringing to light and are taking steps for an in depth internal review. Our main concern is for the welfare of our staff and for the technical results that our members expect from our programs. Again, our policy is to address concerns immediately as they arise and do everything we can to make sure the best possible service results from our religious activities and studies. If those former members wish to file a formal complaint I will look into these issues personally. In Scientology we believe that we can help make a better society and that starts with making sure our members are getting the results they expect. Sincerely, David Miscavige.” ….But noooooo. It’s all attack and smear. Scientology is never wrong. Scientology leaders are perfect. Scientology technology delivers EXACTLY what is promised. Every time. And there are 10 million happy members that feel the same way right? Diabolically insane. Keep yapping Dave. You have reduced Scientology to the status of “deplorable” on a global scale and you look like a screaming service facsimile to your own members who are CRINGING. It’s over. Heartfelt appreciation to all of you who work at great personal expense to expose these criminals. You guys are true heroes. And Bruce Hines, clearly a class act. I’d LOVE to hear more from him. Way to go Leah. You will always be remembered as the one who used your station in life to help expose these horrible abuses and help these people get free from the prison of belief that is Scientology.
I Yawnalot says
Well said Doug.

I did not mean not not acknowledge Mike Rinder in my little rant, but I’m sure he knows how I feel. WINNING THE WAR.
Balletlady says
It goes on & on…”The Church Challenges”…but where the HELL is a “live spokesperson from COS” to step forward & deny what has been stated by the former members? The same statement used over & over again with a repetitious bashing of the person’s character, with no real proof.
Leah “staged managed” etc…Mike this, that one that…..then to use the statements from auditing…that is the lowest thing anyone could do to another person, to reveal what was said in STRICT confidence. Yes, the audit heard it, it’s been recorded…but this is supposed to be part of a “church”, to help one recover from the hurts or the misdeeds they may have committed in life so they can eventually achieve spiritual freedom?
I’ve YET to meet anyone who “walks on water”, someone who is so pure in thought & deed that there is absolutely nothing in their past they would be embarrassed about if it were revealed. The rite of the Catholic confessional is sanctified, PRIVATE…..I guess it doesn’t hold true when you “cross” (no pun intended)or step on the toes of those in power at “the organization” .
All these brave lovely people who have unloaded a burden they’ve carried, most for decades can now feel lighter. There is NO SHAME in revealing the TRUTH, the pain may continue, but to have kept that pain deep inside the darkest recesses of one’s soul must be unbearable. To feel embarrassed that they were ever part of this, to fear being ridiculed, & now is there only chance to let it all out.
ALL our arms are enveloping these brave people who were taken advantage of, used, abused, ridiculed, punished, placed in “the hole”…..some for months, years….You are loved & are the HERO those who are still in, under the radar, escaped/blown but afraid to come forward, even to those thinking about leaving. You are the example to attain, that one CAN and DOES have a life outside of “the organization” & it will take hard work, dedication, & strength of character to achieve, but it CAN be done.
Mike & Leah always say: “Something Has To Be Done”….these brave folks ARE doing it…..the first step is lighting that candle to shine on the TRUTH.
Jill Hunter says
If I may, could I add just one word to this?
All these brave lovely people who have unloaded a burden they’ve carried ALONE, most for decades can now feel lighter. There is NO SHAME in revealing the TRUTH, the pain may continue, but to have kept that pain deep inside the darkest recesses of one’s soul must be unbearable.
There is NO fellowship, no sharing of questions or doubts. If you DARE to question anything YOU are an SP, and anathema the your family and friends.
Please forgive me if I state things that are so very clear to those of you who speak out. Though I have watched the show since the beginning, I still find it difficult to process the amount of control you have dealt with. And the amount of fear you have leaving. Not just the crap, but learning to *unlearn* the things that have held you prisoner for so long.
YOU all have balls of steel!
Balletlady says
For some, they were lucky enough to have spouses who shared that awful burden because they were also living that life. For those who have escape/blown & left behind extended family friends who still WANT to stay with “the organization”….it’s another story. As Leah’s mom said more of less…she said what she said because others were listening or around her. Others might bad mouth because they still BELIEVE & are drinking the Kool Aid……or maybe it’s in the rice & beans, who knows.
As far as “unlearning” there are many instances in life where we have to do just that. I remember the transition from the Latin Mass to the English Catholic Mass…..I remember my OWN religion juggling about what I had been taught my entire life, & then having the rug pulled out from under me to learn something “different”.
I remember having to “unlearn” using an IMB Selectric Typewriter & having to go full bore training on a …WHAT???….COMPUTER…..which I had no idea whatsoever (and still don’t) really know how to operate like a professional. In my past careers….learning was a huge part as the laws were amended/changed, added to, & what was once was no more replaced by yet ANOTHER rule or regulation.
Thank goodness at age 18 my common sense told me NOT to get involved like my friends did with the Moonies, Hare Krishna & COS……I could think after reading & reviewing it all….”they can’t be serious”…..yet many kind hearted people got involved.
Will Scientology continue….I would hazard a guess…YES…in one format or another. There ARE different branches of Christian & Baptist Churches so I fully expected this is where it would go.
As the Charnys’ said….they are STILL auditing. Others leave COS & remain Scientologist.
Moxie says
“I am not one to post messages on the internet, but feel it is incumbent upon me to set the record straight by recounting a very troubling incident that occurred on one of my visits to Flag. I was sitting in the HGC waiting room, when Ronit walked by me with a very mean look on her face. This was totally uncalled for, causing me unnecessary upset. When my auditor (thankfully not Ronit) took me in session, we had to spend 93 minutes handling the resulting ARC break from that snarly look on Ronit’s face. This was a waste of my time and money when I was on a MAJOR auditing action. Thanks a lot Ronit.

Actually that was FG. Do you know him? He’s currently doing another six month check at Flag, but the place is so restimulative to him because of the incident he mentioned that a special case cracking auditor has been assigned to him. Luckily he has a nice inheritance from a rich aunt.

In about 1993 I was the scheduling Board I_C AO1 and a man came in as an arrival. His wife was with him. He was cowed, obviously PTS. He introduced his wife to the D of P Ann Beatty (Chuck’s wife). She said to Ann “It’s not a pleasure at all”.
Her flows would probably make flowers just wilt as she walked by. We were trying to figure out what to do with them when the Tech Estimate came back. So we sent them to the reg. 2 minutes later the phone rang and David Light was yelling at me ” Did you send this PTS up here?”. I sent the page back and had them routed to the MAA.
Yossi says
Hey Moxie or FG! What’s your real name. If you still bitter about the “mean look”, probably the 93 minutes were not enough. Your auditor (thankfully not Ronit) didn’t clean you up properly. Or you are KGB or OSA (same thing) operative….Whoever you are, grow up and smell the coffee.
Moxie says
Yossi, this was just my sweet, sarcastic self impersonating a dyed in the wool Scientologist attempting to “handle the entheta.” ?

Dear ‘FG’,
Not to worry. That was not YOUR upset. You need to go back to Flag and have the reg sell you 10 more intensives to find the nasty engram(s) or entity(s) that told you that Ronit’s look was mean/snarly/fanged/horned/evil/DM-ish. Lots of luck getting those engrams or entities to help you pay for their auditing.

Moxie my request please put your own lyrics to this ditty, I think we all need a good chuckle, well at least I do.

The biggest outpoint to me is that the “auditor” actually spent 93 minutes of that PC’s time (at how much an hour?) trying to clean it up. What an inept, piss-poor auditor. Check for similar of your own, go to a GF – for gods sake. I’m so glad I left decades ago – and I thought the tech was tending toward squirrel THEN – geesh.
Reminds me of having to sit through that gawd-awful Apple Box Boy mangling the tech with his announcement of GAT and watching my fellow “VIII’s” (not-so-much) wildly nodding agreement with everything he was saying.

Notreally Myname says
Great show! I loved it!
I would add the following, and maybe it will come up in a future episode:
Those who are ekeing out an existence and cannot afford the fees involved in bridge progression are often recruited to be staff or SO members. I was 16 and hadn’t finished high school – no formal education to speak of. I joined staff on the promise of ‘free’ training and processing – a year and a half later, I signed my SO contract, and four years later I resigned.
I then had to pay for all of the services I had received.
Other than the training necessary to do the ‘job’ (post) to which I was assigned, I had received less than $10 K in actual auditing …. less than 25 hours of auditing in 5 and 1/2 years of labor …. and all delivered by ‘student’ auditors….. oh, and NO BRIDGE PROGRESS …. the auditing was all about keeping me on post!
Just a tiny bit of venting –
Cindy says
Not only do the SO have to pay for auditing received, but usually that auditing is done by public students who are just learning how to audit and they use the SO for their guinea pigs. So it isn’t auditing from a professional and well seasoned auditor. Yet when they figure out their freeloader debt to be paid back upon leaving the SO, they figure their auditing at professional rates to be paid back. Out exchange.
Jill Hunter says
I just gotta. Auditing as done with the equipment by LRH is a piece of shit sub-par lie dector.
Didn’t someone say that no matter how much *real* technology has come to light that they couldn’t change the *auditor*?
OOOOKKKKKK I don’t have to live next to a feed lot to smell bullshit.
Jill Hunter says
Not Really you are heaven sent to answer some questions for me.
What at what age did you sign that *contract*?
A child under the age of 18 is considered a minor and is unable to sign a contract unless it is for essential items. Essential items include medicines, food, and medical services. Otherwise, the minor child must have a parent or guardian consent to the contract in order for it to be legally binding.
Also and just as telling is that if a contract is signed under duress it is null and void. Those affidavits that they demand be signed before people can leave are worthless.
They still have a battalion of lawyers, I understand that. But with all the the press they are getting, won’t it just make it worse of they try and enforce these blackmail documents?
Notreally Myname says
Hi Jill, My first ‘Church’ contract I was 15, and yes, my newly minted scientologist mother signed as my legal guardian. I left after about 6 months when the 25+\- year old (Div 6 Reg) ‘boyfriend’ broke up with me. I returned at 16, signed my SO contract and activated it shortly thereafter. I left the SO at 20, and continued as a ‘public’ for too many years…. I did not have to sign anything when I left (that I recall) in order to leave the SO, but this happened many many years ago (@ 1976/77 thru 1981/82 on staff or in the SO), and is a story all its own.
With my mother signing her consent to both contracts. My mother also eventually joined the SO, as did my brother. Mom has passed, but my brother is still swigging the kook-aid – hence my signature below.

Thank you. That point just kept gumming up the works for me.

Loved the latest episode and the explanation about moving up the bridge. Some of the “beliefs” or “tech” or whatever you want to call the terms scientology uses are similar to some of the philosophical writings of years gone by – The Emerald Tablet, law of attraction, Kabbalah, etc. etc. There is also some good psychology there (mind over matter, becoming aware of your thoughts and how powerful they are in dictating your behavior) – however twisted LRH made them for his own means.
I laughed when the story about OT III and the cruel alien Xenu was brought up and Leah said something along of the lines of, “We believed this shit?”
Yes of course you did, at that time, cause it’s not very different from other religions believing that a woman was impregnated by a spirit (because it wouldn’t be “clean” for her to have gotten pregnant the natural and beautiful way) to give birth to the son of God. Who ended up being God. Or that he walked on water (although I’m sure scientologists convince their members that at some point they will be able to walk on water). Or how the entire population of the world came forth by just one male and one female. Or that a burning bush told a man to climb a mountain to receive the spiritual laws to live by. Or that if someone looked at the destruction of a couple of cities they would turn to salt, and low and behold a woman did turn to salt. Or that animals from all over the world found their way to an ark that was built by a man and his sons that would fit ALL the animals of the world. And so many other religious stories from all religions.
The human mind is capable of believing almost anything if it is fed it enough and threatened with damnation, destruction, persecution, and isolation after they’ve followed the “carrot” as Mike put so well.
Please note that my comment is not meant to defend scientology, nor is it to offend other religions. I respect people’s beliefs, as long as those beliefs do not inflict pain and suffering on anyone.
jim says
Gypsy,
After I got out (1980’s) I began walking back the earlier learnings and lore that Hubbard exploited. It has been a long and most interesting journey. The threads all narrowed down to Hermes Trismegistus and his Emerald Tablet some centuries before Jesus. Could this be the origination point for mono-theistic religions, spirit lore, science, and even social studies?
Gypsy66 says
Jim,
I would think that is a certain possibility, but then I’m not an expert. 🙂 If you are still on your journey, you may want to check out The Kybalion by Three Initiates – easy to find a pdf copy on the Internet – a hard and challenging read, but quite interesting. I’m almost certain LRH took and distorted in a perverse way some of the material from it.
I once went through the doors of a Scientology “church” only because I was fascinated with all the books (love love books) and was drawn in by some of the “philosophy” only because it matched my thought process and mindset/beliefs – it felt icky in there and I got out of there really quick.
Can’t put my finger on what was “icky” about it, but I remember describing it as a feeling of being in a hall of mirrors – fear and fascination and a sense of “people” “entities” or “shadows” closing in on me as I browsed the various books and booklets.
jim says
Gypsy,
Thanks for the reference. it fits in with the whole.
As to hubbard reading the Kybalion, or many earlier works: He flunked out of freshman college and was noted as a very inattentive student so I think he read damn little of others works. Listening to the PDC tapes of December 1952, I concluded that he was channeling and/or reading the Akashic Record for his ‘insights’. One can become addicted to ‘looking’ and never spend time experiencing life.

Yo Dave,
Howz about You good buddy? Are You holdin yerself back???? Remember ……. it is another god damned Thursday and there will be stats to count up and conditions to assign. How bad will those stats be today? Do ya thing anyone might be falsifying them …………………. Dave? Well take it from me, if there are ANY stats up other than numbers of people leaving or ess pee declares then they are false.
BTW Dave, have you taken to mailing out any more dildos to people you don’t like? Not that You are a pervert or anything………..maybe You just call it ‘dealing an effective blow’ …….. You know, like your formula says to do Dave.
Brian says
Every action Dave is taking is an instruction from L Ron Hubbard. Fair Game, The Justice Manuel, Bolivar, the Playbook on Critics that Mike has put in one place to read.
My wish and prayer is to educate our society that the behavior of Scientologists, their heartless disregard of human decency is the application of L Ron Hubbard’s ACTUAL writings.
THERE IS NOT ONE WEIRD, INDECENT AND INHUMAN BEHAVIOR FROM DAVE AND HIS DUMSTER DIVERS THAT DOES NOT HAVE HUBBARD’S INSTRUCTION IN WRITING.
I am hoping that Aftermath deals with this. I really really really do!

When is the next big Scientology mandatory event? I’m interested to see the 378X growth videos. I bet the number of declared people with wrap around the planet 20X. Or the height of SPs stacked end to end would reach the moon and back or at least Target 2.

It will be the IAS event in October.
Yo Dave,
Wherezit gonna bee this year good buddy? By then You can announce that a show about $cientology made it to the Emmys!
Teen says
I think the event this year is going to be held at TC’s penthouse in Clearwater. Plenty of room for the 2 of them and I heard the audio/visual equipment is top of the line. At least that’s what the receipts said when the bookkeeper entered the charitable expenditure.
Barbet says
Where’s CoS TV station? What’s happening with it?’
Mick Roberts says
Probably just sitting around idle, just like their Orgs. Miscavige probably saw the costs involved and decided he didn’t want to part with the “donations” he took from everyone when he promised access to the world (complete with all the glitzy stats about how many people watch TV for how many hours/day for how many days, etc.). Plenty of donations to have his “Grand Opening”, too much cost to operate possibly (he probably considers spending ANY donated money to be “out-exchange”).
On their own website (from May 2016), there is this little gem: “Yes, Scientology is in the news—that’s certainly proof that the religion is so interesting.”
Uhh, yeah…..ok…..nice bit of word play to your sheep there.
Newcomer says
” Miscavige probably saw the costs involved and decided he didn’t want to part with the “donations” he took from everyone when he promised access to the world ”
Mick, I think it might be more along the lines of Dave not having anyone He feels is competent enough to say anything about His Cult. Since he has had his gonads removed by Leah, Mike and company that even takes Him out of the equation. I suspect His voice has gone up a couple octaves as well.
I think if He thought there was anyone who could do it, He would pay any amount to have that person tell the world how wonderful He and His cherch are.
Yo Dave,
Time to get out the checkbook good buddy. And get Tom, John and Krusty to do a panel type presentation. They could take calls from the public. You could stand backstage and micromanage the whole shitereee! Hell, get Julian to sit in and answer any of the questions about how you do not support disconnection or fair game.
What about Shelly? Maybe she would like to participate? Hey, what about Your whales like Bobby Duggan?

New comer,
I was there, and Leah did do it. She had to get on her knees and still had to bend down a bit to snip off Dave’s balls. I think she used tweezers and a fingernail clipper.

Sorry, I can’t remember the guys name. He was on Season 1 and talks about going into the *cool new buildings*. And they were empty, silent. They equated *growth* with square footage. No members, empty buildings. No use, no future plans. Square footage for no use or reason..

I guess this is the perfect example of all press is good press, right?

I wonder if anyone has calculated how many homeless shelters, serving how many people could be made from empty orgs.
Churches, temples and mosques in Atlanta are now open to take in Florida people fleeing Irma.
Hey Dave, you got an org in Atlanta? Maybe you all could act like an actual religion and open the fuckinh doors, and take in people/refugees since an entire state is trying to get out of the way.

Thank you!
Maybe Mike and Leah should do a show showing all the empty, abandoned, derelict buildings co$ has throughout the country.
This would not only showcase how much money co$ wastes but also the blight they are putting on a community as these buildings suck down property values, prevent area development and cost more in policing (to keep squatters out).
That building could be put to good use right now. But it just sits there rotting.
Jill Hunter says
So many of you have such courage. I am pleased that I could add something seen as worth value, when compared to what each of you do in daring to come forward. Here or on screen, you are all heroes.

Wayne Borean aka The Mad Hatter says
Missing in action. Someone commented on a post on the Underground Bunker that Scientology Media Productions has a few staff. Very few. Not enough to produce much, and after a year of operations they appear to have produced nothing.
Unless they are the ones producing the POW videos…
PeaceMaker says
Barbet, that’s a great question. It might have been expected that they would have started producing something right after the SMP opening at the beginning of last summer, and I think they may have missed a promised deadline sometime after that, and then another made by Miscavige in a speech, for the beginning of this summer – for which they had apparently paid to reserve a cable TV channel.
Scientologists were apparently lead to believe that SMP programming was going to solve all their problems of bad media coverage, and being able to talk to friends about the positive side of Scientology (and to recruit them); it was supposed to reach “billions” (presumably through webcasting, as well as cable TV) and drive so many new people into the orgs that the huge “ideal” buildings would be put to full use. I’d like to know what still-in CofS members think of the situation, especially in the face of another season of Aftermath and nothing more than a crude knee-jerk response from Scientology; or are the remaining “clubbed seals” as Mike has called them, so indoctrinated in thought-stopping that they just shrug off even blatant failures?
My best guess is that after a typically over-enthusiastic start, and assuming that just because they’re scientologists that they have all the answers and the necessary “tech,” they realized that to produce a full program of material of high enough production value that it wouldn’t be laughable in today’s media environment, was beyond their logistical and financial means. When the Christian Scientists tried to start a cable channel 30 years ago, with the advantage of already-established print and radio news operations to build on, they had to hire 200 outsiders, spend probably the equivalent of $100 million or more – and gave up before long, when the operation was burning up so much money that it threatened to bankrupt the whole church.
Scientology had also put out some casting calls, indicating that they had some historical productions related to Hubbard’s life and Scientology’s history in the works. Someone pointed out that those likely got bogged down in Miscavige’s typical micro-management, and that it would probably be impossible ever to come up with enough programming that he had approved.
Idle Morgue says
My Wog friends – who could never understand how I got roped into Scientology – now understand how I got roped into Scientology.
Thank you Mike and Leah – the humility and embarassment of ever being affiliated with this cult organization disguised as a religion – is finally getting the proper exposure.
Please expose the “contracts” one signs AFTER paying for services
Scientology calls this payment “donation” so they can keep the money when you leave and most people leave.
There is at least $1,000,000 in each Org – already spent – for services NEVER DELIVERED.
Expose Narconon too! That one is easy – the fraud and criminal scamming – taking advantage of people’s vulnerabilities – is enormous.
kim says
Sorry to hear that you were sucked into this type of Religion. I hope you are doing better now
Old Surfer Dude says
Kim, Scientology is not a religion. It’s a toxic, evil, militant, cult. But, hey, that’s just what I think.
KathyG says
Is it just me or are their insults lacking the conviction they used to. Come on sci, no one around to really research and attack. Maybe it’s just that everyone on the outside knows how pathetic and double standard (ed) all off their “attacks” are.
Mick Roberts says
Another great take-down of yet another lame response by this “church”. Is it just me, or are their responses just getting more and more desperate?
Wynski says
So, according to scamology, looking at CLOTHED woman is sexually perverted but, child rape is ho-hum.
Yes folks that is the mind while hooked into the criminally insane cult of Hubbard.
Peter Bonyai says
Mike, isn’t this illegal in the USA to publish handwritten O/W writeups? It sure as hell would be illegal in any country that is a member of the EU. This would be classified here as “sensitive personal information”, and publishing it without permission and for material gain would constitute a felony, and in at least, Hungary, could get you 2-5 years of prison time…
Wynski says
No Peter. Congress cannot make such laws here. In the EU there is no limit to the power of government.
I Yawnalot says
There’s something both comforting and quite disturbing in your comment Mike.
Old Surfer Dude says
I’ll take the comforting part, I Yawn. You can have the disturbing part.
Cindy says
Good point, Peter B. And I noticed that his forced confession when he left, as signed and notarized. What church does that? Only the C of S. They have it signed and notarized just so that they can use it against you if you should ever speak out against the church in the future. No other church does that. And if we talk about perversion, I know an OT in the C of S, living in Los Angeles, who was caught in a child porn sting by an undercover cop who arrested him when he arrived to meet the under age child for sexual purposes. THIS was covered up by OSA. So the church has transgressions of protecting child molesters, rapists in their elite clergy who raped the kids they were supposed to be babysitting and helping and the church does nothing, other than blame the victim, and cover up the crime for the perpetrator. The church has this history and yet jumps all over someone who tried to see a fully clothed woman? Only in the C of S
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
If the woman was wearing a “see through” blouse she probably wanted people to see her.
Gus Cox says
Is that “most ethical being” in the Megan’s Law database?
Mary Beth Wylie says
Haven’t they refused to show it or share it before due to it’s confidential nature? I guess that excuse only works when they need it to be confidential. Didn’t they father that molest his daughter confess it in one of these sessions? Where’s that one?
Jill Hunter says
There is NO Catholic priest who would brake the seal of the confessional.
The difference between the priest and the shill lies very deeply in that lack.
A Scientology shill is no better than the lowest of a con man. Any Mark just because they are a mark is there for the taking.
Melanie Reap says
I’m betting that someone, *cough Mike cough*, could write up a Scientology response to next week’s show, seal it in an envelope, and open it after the show airs and it will be damn near 100% spot on to the actual “church” response.

I must admit, as much as I look forward to the new episodes of Aftermath, I look forward to the COS responses almost as much. As a never-in, what they are doing is so transparent I can’t believe anyone would believe a word of it.
Is this all so Miscavige feels like he is doing something? I just don’t understand his thought process in preparing and posting these responses. Of course, if I had the emotional maturity of a toddler, as he seems to, then maybe it would make sense.
I Yawnalot says
Trying to understand Miscavige’s thought processes… OK. Take a hammer and hit yourself in the face. Closest analogy I can think of.
Alex De Valera says
Their attacks are so out of reality, that they just help proving how insane they are and it helps sinking the ship a few feet more under water. High fives to you Mike, to Leah and to all those who have spoken out.
Vincent says
S2 E4 was my favorite episode so far. At the end of the bridge is the information that you are the same person you were before all the time, money, blood, sweat, and tears? Brilliant! Anyway, Scientology must attract a lot of BAD people. After all, everyone participating in this show is bad in the eyes of the cherch. They should do a better job of vetting all those weasels!
Dave Stewart says
I know very well the show doesn’t vet it’s sources, because I’ve had to sit through so many ads from Freedom Media & Ethics during various YouTube videos lately (or at least the first five seconds of them before I can press Skip). Funded, of course, by tax-exempt dollars, so it must be in the public interest. Seriously though, I wonder how many people they’re actually fooling.
Newcomer says
Dave, Is Donna your wife?
azhlynne says
Oh my Xenu, Bruce Hines is a MAN! He snuck a peek a some BOOBY! Everybody RUN! Ronit is “mean and nasty” huh? Well so was LRon by many accounts. So that’s probably not a good place to go. And Vicki! They couldn’t even say anything about Vicki so they just stuck out their tongues at Leah and pouted that she was “mean to her mother”. Nyah. So there.
Moop says
I’m a man, and have far too much respect for women to be trying to sneak peeks at their boobs.
Which is what I say if i get caught trying to sneak peeks at their boobs.
I Yawnalot says
Boobs are a thing of beauty, in fact the female form is gorgeous. Geezers, never met a girl yet who doesn’t “check out” other females, every heterosexual bloke I know does. It’s a fun game within sensible limits, but it’s all a serious crime in Scientology, like masturbation. But covering up child molestation, enforcing abortion, demanded disconnection and ripping families apart plus perverting the course of justice is all in a day’s work for them, lovely church hey?
Cindy says
If Ronit didn’t get her credentials legally in the C of $, and if she was such a mean and bad person, then why did they post her at the highest org, Flag, to audit the people at the top of the Bridge, OT VII’s? She audited me when I was on OT VII.
Moxie says
That’s an easy one. She never handled her SP case and flipped into an evil valence when left to her own devices.
Old Surfer Dude says
I had a device once. It wouldn’t let me go outside.
Moxie says
I had a vice once. It wouldn’t leave me alone.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass says
I worked with Bruce Hines in AO1. A nicer person you will not find anywhere. And a great auditor too. And Angie Knewitz (Trent) at 16 yrs old used to audit NOTs there. Several times she told me dirty jokes that she said were told her by her Pre OTs. If he didn’t look at her, he was a Catholic priest.
Gus Cox says
Ah, Angie. Straight from Delphian’s elementary school to the SO. She must have caused quite a rumpus in the staff sec checks – she was way too pretty at an unfortunately early age. I wonder if she’s still in?
Gail Shourds says
I kept the episode on dvr to watch again because your mind just can’t wrap around it the first time. My husband and I sat there and watched it and just kept looking at each other like WTH? What struck us most ( other than the total lunacy of the space alien stuff) was how much it cost! I guess if you have no credit and rent your house this is not the cult for you! It’s ridiculous the amount of money that is expected….I don’t see how people can afford to live and feed their families while paying everything that’s expected. I hope the cash cows are starting to dry up after people open their eyes and find out what Looney Tunes this stuff is. L.Ron was nothing more then a modern day charlatan pedaling a total crock of made up stuff to the masses. If you believed his stuff worked and he could cure himself of illness he probably wouldn’t of died…especially since he smoked like a train. Can’t Dianetics your way out of cancer and bad health.
T-Marie says
And here you see proof that the true intention was never to “Clear the planet” Gail Shourds. If it were, it wouldn’t cost so much.
Gail Paige says
Many years ago I worked with Vicki Marshall at a solar company owned by scientologists. She was a sweetheart. Very nice, very caring.
Cindy says
Gail I worked at same company. Contact me plese as I’d love to meet you. Mike has my email address.

Pathetic. The guests were all so brave and courteous to one another. They expressed hurt and disillusionment, not hate. As with all the guests, I admire them for standing for truth despite the inevitable consequences. All seem like good people who got trapped in a scam. Obviously, whoever wrote it, didn’t see the show. Nothing about the OT levels or auditing that was presented. Nothing but insults and name calling.
My Inner Space says
What appalls me more than anything is that, if you use the Catholic model, that auditing and reports are like confessions and there should be a sanctity of that room and what happens in it. Although in the Catholic Church confession is done rather anonymously and notes are not taken, I could call the Pope a murderer and even if I was excommunicated no one would violate that. If I was up for murder charges, no one would violate that. But Scientology gets its feelings hurt and the gloves come off and they did through these peoples’ files and release pictures of what should be something that is most sacred. And if your only crime was saying that you didn’t feel benefit from a course and you were declared an SP, they would do the same thing. Disgusting.
T-Marie says
My Inner Space, the folders where notes from auditing sessions are kept, are marked with “Priest-Penitent Privileged” on them. Obviously, that doesn’t mean anything in the church of Scientology.
Just a blurb from Wikipedia:
United States
Main article: Confessional privilege (United States)
According to former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, Warren Burger, “The clergy privilege is rooted in the imperative need for confidence and trust. The… privilege recognizes the human need to disclose to a spiritual counselor, in total and absolute confidence, what are believed to be flawed acts or thoughts and to receive consolations and guidance in return.”[5]
A pastor has a duty to hold in confidence any information obtained during a counseling session. A pastor who violates this trust might be on the losing end of a suit for an invasion of privacy or defamation.[6]

As an “outsider”, I marvel at their BS and tactics week after week. I can only imagine what those of you who were in it feel!! Besides the fact that my anger builds each week; I’m equally disturbed by “their” response! To me they are all…PATHETIC!
Pippis Daughter says
The official responses of CoS do more to show who they really are than anything an ex-Scientologist or detractor could say. Good job to keep provoking those responses. They are playing right into your hands.
Eh=Eh says
What I find the most repugnant about the C of S is the fact that nothing you say to them is confidential and they have no compunction against publishing your supposedly “confidential” confessionals and making up or negatively embellishing confidential confessions at the same time! This is sick and as degraded as humans or any organization can get!
Doug Parent says
“What I find the most repugnant about the C of S is the fact that nothing you say to them is confidential..” Scientologists fear one thing the most, that their inner most secrets and transgressions would be exposed to ridicule and shared amongst other staff members. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. It happened to me and I caught them red handed at it. The Church has betrayed their trust, it’s the last straw.
Old Surfer Dude says
Church of the On-Going Betrayal. Your confession is safe with us.
I Yawnalot says
Yes, the Cof$ bank on it.
Aquamarine says
What is beyond the beyond despicable is that the contents of ones’s PC folder is not confidential but used to keep the non staff relaitives of staff and SO in line. If they don’t toe the line, donate whenever asked, etc. they are at risk for being (silently) declared suppressive with choice snippets from their auditing sessions revealed to their still in chilldren, parents, spouses, friends, etc. Just writing this is making me feel queasy; I wish I hadn’t just eaten lunch. you UTR people lurking here, PLEASE do everything you can to ensure that your kids don’t join staff or SO. If you’re leaving, do whatever you can to bring them with you. Way easier said than done, I know.
I Yawnalot says
Yes, it’s tough gig trying to accept Scientology’s practices. It makes you nauseas just contemplating the level of betrayal those that would sift through a PC folder for defamatory information and pass it on to be used against them. Sleep would be a luxury for those types, not that I’d mind knocking them into tomorrow myself.
Aquamarine says
Sleep – yeah. The Big Sleep.
Spike says
I agree, Doug, totally ridiculous!
Gravitysucks says
But it’s a tool used to guarantee silence of those still in?
I Yawnalot says
Yes, disgusting isn’t it? I have zero tolerance for assholes who do that or enforce others to do that sort of injustice/betrayal of trust. They have something to personally fear from the likes of integrity minded people and they know it, only their arrogance and pretended ignorance of the ramifications of their acts hides them. The command structure of Scientology is just about as low and despicable as the human condition can get within a so called modern civilized social network. Protected by lawyers like Monique Dingaling, Moxon et al – I rest my case.
bo says
Yet another foot bullet. Nobody is going to want to get auditing or have anything at all to do with a “church” or any other type of counseling group that doesn’t keep your secrets secret.
Spike says
I hope my pc folders from the 70s are buried nice and deep …
Spike says
They’re going down, Mike, and you and Leah are instrumental in making it happen …
Jonathan Mark says
I read something online by someone who was dissatisfied with what she had paid for independent auditing. That doesn’t mean that independent auditing is a scam or that anyone’s auditing is not fairly priced. It certainly doesn’t devalue anything an independent auditor says on Aftermath.
But if “the tech” is the worthless creation of a madman then anyone who pays for either independent or CoS auditing is paying for a placebo and could easily end up dissatisfied.
It’s not the same as someone receiving communion or participating in a Passover seder because of the sums of money involved. Independent auditing or training up the Bridge won’t cost you $300K or more like in Scientology and you won’t be pressured to make donations to bogus charities, imprisoned on a ship or forced to scrub toilets with a toothbrush. But people should understand that its cost could be in the low five figures and that’s a lot of money too.
One clear lesson I take from Aftermath is that even highly intelligent people like Leah and Mike can be participants in a money-making scam or cult. Being intelligent is no protection.
I thank Leah, Mike and A&E for this show. I am a never-in or barely-in. I took one Scientology course in 1975. I left after a registrar tried to sell me services that were more expensive than I wanted to pay. As I recall she wanted $800 and I only made $11K a year. But if I’d made more money or had been more willing to spend it I could have been sucked in like Leah’s mom.

Nice moves, scientology.
Here is what you have demonstrated to the world:
1. If you trust scientology, and attest to any human weakness, your confidences will be betrayed once the “church” is done with you. This is not a good marketing campaign.
2. You denounce ogling as a perversion while you have a member in good standing, with a nickname of “donkey slap”, being investigated for rape. (Not to mention protecting child abusers, as Mike mentioned)
Well, I suppose you have no freedom. You are bound to the words of LRH, warts and all, a man who could not conceive of the spotlight of the internet and social media. You have no choice, you have to attack in this simplistic, and rather childlike fashion.
So keep following your messiah, scientologists, and following his dictates. As you do so, some you may be smart enough to realize that you are your own worst enemy.
Cindy says
So true, What Are Your Crimes. I will make a prediction. Next week will be about David Miscavige and his hostile takeover which no one saw at the time as hostile because we all believed him when he said that LRH wanted him to take over. I predict that the church’s defense will be to dust off and trot out Tom Cruise in that video he did where he is fawning all over COB singing his praises. After all, if Tom Cruise says it, it must be true.

That’s what WS told me.

The only thing that the CoS accomplishes with their attack ads and hate websites is to make them look MEANER… if that’s even possible. No self-respecting organization (religious or otherwise), would do what they do in civil society because it would reflect badly on them. It comes across to the average person as immature, vindictive and spiteful. So why do they do it? Of course – it’s all right there in LRH’s playbook.
Reggie Workman says
Mean? How about a long term SO member being made to stay up with no sleep at Int for weeks and weeks and weeks until he was literally out of his mind, lost his integrity. RTC staff would come into his office late and night and sit with him to make sure he didn’t go to bed. They would stay up until 5am at which point they would go to sleep until noon but he had to be up for his Nazi muster at 9am sharp. He was literally driven insane at the end until he blew (at which point he so the light). Or instead of sending staff to an ethics officer (one on one) to work out a way to be more ethical, send the staff member to one of Dave’s assembled mob of over 400 screaming “staff members” who yell at the person in a large hall for sabotaging International Scientology by their horrific crimes, trying to destroy all good in the universe and demanding the person tell his or her crimes to the mob. No answer is acceptable to the mob except something wholly self invalidative and seemingly horrifically criminal. The end result? A throughly caved in staff member and a satisfied mob of psychos. Or how about putting the most vicious person ever in charge of RTC Ethics who roams Int daily invalidating all base staff, screaming at them, picking at them for the most minor behavioral “infringements” and in one case refusing to let one wonderful dedicated young lady go see her father on her well earned liberty day. Well she committed suicide right then and there. Mean?
Spike says
OMG Reggie, that is so terrible. 🙁

It takes true courage and strength what Mike and Leah are doing with their show exposing the truth about the largest cult on earth. Please keep doing what you’re doing. You are true spiritual warriors.
Ronit Charny says
Thank you Mike!
The younger guy who talks about me is Matt Wolf. He was the Flag AO Staff MAA. He was about 14 years old, and came from the Ranch, was abandoned by his parents who were posted somewhere up lines. Basically, was a child slave labor on torturous boot camp who was denied sleep lived in “pigs bearthing” and was allowed to eat only rice and beans for months with all the other AO MAAs.
He was later demoted and transferred AOLA.
The older French guy was Frank Padva, who was in the same team with me as Solo NOTs EP Checker, but because if his lousy TR’s was removed and was not allowed to do EP Checks.
Was later demoted and transferred to AOLA.
The French Lady, Slonage Padva, was deputy captain for AO. She does NOT know the technology, so she cannot have a say. Was later demoted and transferred to AOLA.
Now, at the beginning, they said, that I committed perjury in court. That’s the lawsuit of the Lemberger’s in Israel. I was one of the main witness. If that was a purjury, way did the church paid the Lemberger’s and settled the case? I guess they did not want the data to get on public records! By the way, the judge said that ishe will personally see to close Scientology in Israel, because she heard enough, so the church is better of settling.
I have a copy of my testimony if anyone interested in it. It’s in Hebrew and need to be translated. But has some juicy details of what was happening at Flag at that time.
So with this “Hate page”, I guess I graduated into a higher level SP ?. Congratulations!
Doug Parent says
Thank you Ronit for everything you have done to help. You are of great value to the cause and greatly appreciated.
Lois Reisdorf (Lowie) says
Ronit you did a great job and I really do take my hat off to you. Whatever they say is such BS anyway and everyone knows it. It makes them look ridiculous. I am sure all of us would love to see your testimony in that trial in Israel and hear all the juicy details. Thank you for speaking out.
PeaceMaker says
Ronit, thanks for telling us a bit more about the people dragged out to slander you, especially the sad case of the young boy. And thanks for your and your spouse’s powerful appearances on Aftermath.
I hope that you provide your “juicy details of what was happening at Flag” to Mike or Tony Ortega for publication. I think that one of the impactful things that is going to come out of Aftermath, and bring on either reform or collapse of the CofS, is a lot more people defecting and telling their stories, and those more recent insider accounts are going to be hard for Scientology to deny or for members to ignore. People like you who are remembered fondly, including by still-in members, can have real influence, as did Debbie Cook.
Cindy says
Thanks for this clarification, Ronit. Yes it would be great if you translated your testimony and published it on Mike’s blog.
I Yawnalot says
Wow Ronit, that’s an incredible clarification of the filth the Cof$ gets up to. All the best to you and yours, thanks for the post.

Congratulations on “graduating to a higher level of sp.” I just finished reading Marc Headleys book Blown for Good. In the last chapter, about his escape, he’s relating some surprises he got when he got out into the “wog world.” He was surprised that people were so nice. He had been convinced, as a child brought up in Scientology, that the outside world consisted of lazy, mean, nasty people. In reality, many people within scn are turned into mean nasty people. Thanks so much for your contribution to the series and your explanation. You are a warrior for getting out and speaking out.
Spike says
Thanks to you and your husband for being on the show, Ronit. That can’t have been easy.
Kclaire says
Ronit – Thank you for being bold and brave and part of the solution …. the anti-Scientology. I am awed by what your team is teach ing all of us, and while many members of the cult may never see your show, you are helping to prevent Scientology from gaining new members. POWERFUL STUFF.
Question … being that this is not a church (they worship no God, etc) why do they use a cross as their symbol? TThis seems counter productive to me. The cross, being the method the Romans used to execute Christ, represents salvation through Jesus. OR, if a person doesn’t believe all that then it’s simply a Roman torture method. Sooooo …. ??? My guess is that LRH had no idea what he was doing and was just trying to idenitfy Scientology with mainstream churches in order to duck paying taxes. What do you know about this?
Ronit Charny says
I do not have much information on the cross. Being Israeli (born and raised) I am Jewish, so I never paid too much attention to the Scn. cross.
My opinion is that it is part of the tax evasion scam this organization is running. This is not a church or a place that worship god.
BKmole says
The STAND website is the powerful tool Scientology wields against its hateful enemy’s.
What’s amazing is that scientologists believe the crap spewed out on that website.
It is clear that if you are a dedicated member you are hypnotized. That’s the only explanation as to how anyone could believe the STAND bulls–t.
Gabe1972 says
It’s comical, to say the least, as what they say is so similar to what they always say that they could just print out a form letter with fill in the blank spots for the name of the person they are attacking and a few other things.
Marie says
A form letter! That’s hilarious.
Mike. Saw the show last night.
I hate it. Hate it when it ends!! I have to wait a whole week!
You two are amazing and please never stop?❤️
Cindy says
It is obvious the church picks one theme and coaches each of the many people who speak about the apostate, to repeat the same word or phrase. Count how many times the word “pervert” is spoken in each of their ad hom attacks by several people. This is a carefully planned and orchestrated Black PR campaign and nothing more.
Katy Lied says
Oh, that never happens. All of our testimony is spontaneous and true and deeply personal. We have no idea what someone else in our group will say.
