I don’t know if Mile Rinder will allow this post here, as it’s basically my personal experience with this group, but perhaps he will consider it relevant to the discussion, if so, thanks for posting it.
Let’s do a quick recap: the Nation of Islam (also known as “Black Muslims” – which is their own term by the way) is a black separatist group. They are not recognized by mainstream Muslims. They believe in strict separation of black people from all others, including whites, asians, and jewish people. They do not allow white members in their group. They are strongly against inter-racial marriage. They tell black people who marry whites that they are “traitors” to their race, they are not accepted.
Therefore, it is surprising that they are now aligned with the Church of Scientology, and that Stacy Francis is reaching out to Kim Kardashian, who married a black man, Kanye West. So are there different rules for the rich, for celebrities? I find this offensive and ingenuine.
The beliefs of Black Muslims: that 6000 years ago, a mad scientist called Yakub bred all the goodness out of a group of men, along with their skin color (not joking) leaving a pale, white race, with blue eyes, devoid of goodness. Therefore the entire white race is evil.
I personally have been called a “blue-eyed devil” as a young girl growing up in the Bay Area of California, even after I pointed out that my eyes are green, not blue, and that I was only a child, and was kind and caring, with friends of all colors, nationalities and religions. Yet I was told that I was evil, and along with all white people, should be eliminated from the earth. Yes, killed. I was 9 years old when I was told this, by an adult N.O.I. member, in full hearing of other adult members. Their hate is enormous.
My first encounter with Black Muslims was as a 7 year old child. It was a beautiful sunny day, school was out for summer vacation. I was standing on the corner of a street in San Francisco, at the crosswalk, waiting to cross when the light changed.
A yellow school bus drove by me on the street, packed full of excited, happy kids, with “YMCA summer camp” printed on it. The children were dressed in colorful, bright clothing, shorts and t-shirts, a mix of all kinds of kids: white, black, asian, hispanic, all laughing, singing, having fun, a happy bunch. When one girl about my age saw me, she waved and smiled and held up her artwork to the window to show me a painting she had drawn, and several other kids did the same. They all smiled and waved at me. It made me feel good, and I smiled and waved back.
A second YMCA bus followed soon after with more happy kids, laughing, talking, bouncing around the bus, full of joy of life.
When a third bus of kids came by, I was ready to wave and smile again. When I saw a little girl looking out the window, about my age, 7 years old, I caught her attention and smiled and waved at her. I was shocked when she stared back at me with a look of pure hate, with narrowed eyes, downturned mouth, anger, disdain. The kids sitting around her did the same. One of them said something, and suddenly a dozen kids turned to look at me out of their windows, all of them with angry, unhappy faces, and with looks of varying amounts of what I could only term as hate.
This was very dismaying, and I immediately lowered my waving hand, my smile faded from my face. The previously sunny day suddenly seemed to have a dark cloud descend over it. I was really taken aback by their looks of what seemed to be pure hatred, and noticed that these were not YMCA kids, as the other two buses had been, as all the kids in this 3rd school bus were dressed in white robe-type garments, with the girls in long white headcoverings, and they were all sitting silently, sullenly, in straight rows on their seats, without moving, without a single smile, or song, or word between them. They all looked incredibly unhappy and angry.
What a contrast to the other two school buses that were full of happy, friendly children. The most unsettling thing was a child as young as 6 years old, who looked angry enough to kill me. I wondered where these kids in the third school bus were from, and told myself that I should remember when I was older, and a parent myself, never to send my kids to this particular school, or summer camp, where the children are so very unhappy and angry looking. I looked to see what school these children were from and saw that their school bus was white, not YMCA yellow, and the sign painted on it said “Nation of Islam”, with a sliver of moon and a star symbol.
This bus full of unhappy, angry kids, with hate in their eyes affected me deeply, and made such a huge impression on me that I still remember it vividly, years later. This was my first exposure to the N.O.I. but was not my last, unfortunately.
Over the years I have had various disturbing encounters with members of this group, ranging from simply being told I could not purchase a “Final Call” newspaper on the street: “This is not for YOU” (they only sold the paper to black people) to being harassed for walking home from school with a friend who was black, (both verbal and physical harassment – no respect for personal boundaries) and having other friends who were black harassed for talking to me, to being actually assaulted on a public street and having my car damaged, simply for being white. Apparently, my blonde hair and green eyes make me a “blue-eyed devil”. Oh how I “love” being judged by my appearance by people who know nothing about me, or my beliefs, my empathy and compassion, my contributions to worthy causes, my acceptance of all peoples and even my own family which includes marriages and children to peoples of various other cultures, colors and nationalities, (the SF Bay area is very ethnically and culturally diverse) my love for all mankind… in their eyes I’m just a white devil. Evil. Thanks.
So of course, I have no affection or respect for this particular group.
Over the past dozen years or so, I have been horrified to hear the speeches of hate by the N.O.I. leaders, their hatred for Jews, their calls for violence against innocent people. The organized crime that the Bey family, leaders of the local N.O.I. has perpetrated in the SF Bay Area for years, the torture, intimidation, criminal acts, child molestations, vandalism against local businesses, and the murder of Black Journalist Chauncey Bailey, who was writing an investigative article on the N.O.I. criminal activities for the Oakland Tribune. It’s truly horrendous.
So my question remains: WHY is the Church of Scientology joining with this racial hate group? Why? What does the C of S have to gain, what does the N.O.I have to gain? The N.O.I. isn’t going to change their views on white people and blacks “mixing” and L.Ron Hubbard didn’t agree with it either, so… ?

You’re welcome “BlindersOff”, and thank you for your comment, it made me feel a bit better, I was feeling a bit down because I had second thoughts about posting my story, but had already pressed “submit comment” so at that point had no choice…
I was concerned that anyone might think I was prejudiced, racist, or a bigot, all of which I am most certainly not, as is evident by my personal life (of which I’ve already shared too much, so I’ll spare anyone from reading more of it, lol)
I also didn’t want anyone to think I was faulting the children in any way – it isn’t their fault they had to attend a rigid program run by adults who instilled fear and racial hatred in them.
Children are innocent and loving by nature, until/unless adults force their biases upon them and indoctrinate them to hate people due to their skin color, or religion, or for any other feature or reason. I’ve always felt really sad that the children had no choice and were not allowed to be loving and accepting towards others. I think it’s unfair that some children have to grow up in cults like the FLDS or N.O.I. or Scientology, or similar group, because they are taught to circumvent how they naturally feel, and have someone else’s thought processes and version of reality forced upon them.

I have had many friends and have known a lot of people that are part of the Nation of Islam. They have been just as decent and caring and responsible, as the other humans I have come into contact with. They have spouses and children. They work. They are usually more ethical with higher standards than your average city slicker. Blanket declares against entire sections of a culture or community carry a lot of injustice. You won’t find a more sincere friend than a woman who is member of the Nation of Islam. Women and children are the main population of the Nation of Islam and I have not found them to be a danger to society. Or a liability to society.
The stated goals for the Nation of Islam are to ” Improve the spiritual, mental, social, and economic condition of African Americans in the United States and all of humanity.”
They have improved the spiritual, mental, social and economic conditions of African Americans and lifted the entire East Coast inner city culture up from the gutter where they were dropped and held down there by the whites.
They were taught to stand up, fight back, move forward. They do not drink they do not take drugs. They are in better condition now than many white city populations.
The Nation of Islam has done more to lift African Americans up to stand than any other force in America. And it does not frighten me in the least to see a black person being competent and wielding power. We would not have Barack Obama in the White House right now if it were not for the N.O.I..
The crimes committed against the black communities in this country for centuries are despicable. The Nation of Islam has not and will not and has no goals to, treat whites as whites have treated blacks. They use their POWER to enable one another. And they do not suppress the truth about their heritage, history, or the suppression they have had to endure and rise above for generations.
If one of them does not want to wave at you from a school bus, it is because of the history of our white brothers and sisters down south, and over in Great Britain. You think they are supposed to be grateful?
The Mormon Church has over 15 million members who are taught that anyone with dark skin has been cursed by God. Maybe the Nation of Islam has a right to be offended and feel threatened?

There are few families in the country that are as media-savvy as the Kardashians. After all, they parlayed a complete lack of talent and ability into a media empire with their reality show, and then from there all seem to have married other rich media figures. Along the way, they seem to have convinced much of America that they are goddesses of beauty.
So it seems particularly deluded for Stacy Francis to think that any member of the Kardashian clan would want to have any interest in finding out what Louis Farrakhan might want to say to them, given that any association with an organization like NOI would tarnish their media image in a way that all of the other craziness that follows them has not done.
It’s also delusional that she seems to think that her status in the reality show world is big enough to hang with the Kardashians… They seem to do a good job of paying attention only to those on the ladder of fame above them. So it’s kind of like a kid pitching AA ball in some no-name town in the South thinking he can call up a member of the Yankees’ pitching staff to offer a few tips.
It sounds like Stacy Francis is responding to the push from Miscavige (and perhaps from Farrakhan, too) to get celebrities to “disseminate” by using this particularly doomed method of communication. So now she can say she’s upstat in outreach and avoid Ethics handling.
Incidentally, it certainly says something that she picked a message from Farrakhan as the less objectionable “global religious leader” to carry a message from. It’s a dismal day in Hemet indeed when one of your own members thinks that Farrakhan is less of a whack job than Miscavige.

Roger – Stacey Francis was one of the contestants on American Idol a couple or 3 years ago…super over emotional on the show.. tears.. break downs.. stuff like that. She was eliminated after making it through several rounds. She is one of the SCN “celebrities” who can’t make it big in the real world but have status within SCN.
