Something a little different. It's not often we get to see a scientology "goldenrod" these days. Though this one is from 2010, it is no different than what is produced today, and it is proof that scientologists are NOT allowed to report crimes to authorities. We explain this document and the terminology in our latest YouTube video. Committee of Evidence Policy Letter The "Taylor Holley" blog post about scientology running afoul of the IRS prohibition against violating "public policy." … [Read more...]
A Scientology Committee of Evidence is NOT Arbitration
This is the second "vacation" post, revisiting some of the more important articles to have appeared on my blog over the years. The original post, along with the comments, can be found here. See also, these other posts on the subject of scientology "arbitration" linked lower in this post. Scientology has managed to persuade courts that people who signed Enrollment Agreements as a condition of starting a scientology service, are bound by a paragraph of the agreement where they agree to resolve disputes through a scientology "religious arbitration." Episode 69: Claire Headley on Committees of Evidence
We talk to our old friend and Aftermath OG Claire Headley again this week, this time to discuss Committees of Evidence. Episode 55: Ian Rafalko and Dylan Follo
We have a special treat this week. Leah and I talk with Ian Rafalko and Dylan Follo. Ian became an internet sensation when he posted a TikTok video about his father, scientologist chiropractor Eric Berg. His message has been viewed by millions. Ian met Dylan when they were training as auditors at Flag in Clearwater to return to their ideal orgs in Atlanta and NY respectively. They are the first people we have spoken to who have actually been on staff inside an "ideal" org and their experiences are pretty shocking. Ian's family has been torn apart and his wife chose scientology … [Read more...]
A Scientology Committee of Evidence is NOT Arbitration

Here is the language from those agreements. This is the paragraph concerning religious arbitration: Set aside whether an agreement to participate in services can encompass claims that have nothing to do with the service that is the subject of the agreement; there is another more … [Read more...]
The Scientology Committee of Evidence
It's Saturday. Yay for Terra Cognita! The Scientology Committee of Evidence The Committee of Evidence—Comm Ev for short—is one of the chief instruments the Church of Scientology uses to administer justice. Over the years, this court-martial-like hearing has changed from a method of gathering facts and evidence to something more sinister. Nine times out of time, the outcome is a foregone conclusion, played out for show rather than in the interest of fairness and justice. For many church members, there is little more frightening than being called before a Committee of Evidence. As every Sci … [Read more...]
