This article is from last year, but I never got around to commenting on it. Not sure what happened to this exemption, it doesn’t really matter in the overall scheme of things. They will still require Scientologists to sign a draconian agreement before they can buy their mandatory $5000 Easy Bake Oven E-meter, and that will prevent them from doing anything with their meter that is not authorized by scientology. What is amusing is the lengths they will go to in order to ensure they protect any revenue source. Imagine if people were allowed to open the Easy Bake re … [Read more...]
Scientology Safe Pointing in DC
Our friend ISNOINews provided another interesting article that I felt was more important than being left as a comment on a disrelated topic. This is a lengthy article by Alex Rubinstein on a recent event held in Washington DC that scientology participated in. Alex has some fairly extensive mentions of scientology in the article, which I have excerpted below. The entire article can be found at the link above. Using a friend’s company on my application and adopting a fake persona, I attended a three-day summit on religious freedom where leading figures … [Read more...]
Episode 51: The Bridge Deep Dive Part 2 with Bruce Hines
We continue breaking down the Bridge to total Freedom towards the level of Clear with Bruce Hines. It's the stairway to heaven with turnstiles at every step. The State of Clear -- halfway up the Bridge What is the E-Meter? Leah mentions her therapist's write-up on the E-Meter and she quotes from a small part of it. Here it is in full: The science is pretty precise and involved (i.e., the science that it sounds like Scientology and the e-meter capitalizes on and distorts for the purposes of Scientology), but here’s the basic scenario: It … [Read more...]
L. Ron Hubbard’s Obsession with Instant Reads
It's SaTerraDay -- this one is going to provoke some reactions... L. Ron Hubbard’s Obsession with Instant Reads A read—very basically the movement of an e-meter needle from left to right—is what auditors use to determine whether an item in their PC’s mind is “charged” and should be addressed. LRH wrote in HCOB 5 Aug 78, that “the correct definition of instant read is that reaction of the needle which occurs at the precise end of any major thought voiced by the auditor. All definitions which state it is fractions of seconds after the question is asked, are cancelled. Thus an instant read whic … [Read more...]
What About the E-Meter?
This article is by regular commenter Bruce Ploetz. Bruce was in the SO for 25 years, at the Int Base for 19 years -- one of the few true genuises I have ever met. He is an Associate of Science in Electronics Technology. When it comes to the E-Meter, there is likely no more qualified expert on earth. Bruce is named on five patent applications for work concerning the MK VII E-Meter and Learning Accelerator and won a patent with one other for the Drills Simulator. An Electronics Technician, he worked up from that to Electronics Engineer in Silicon Valley, then Director of Research and Design for … [Read more...]

Warehouse 8 Hypefest
This not an exciting post like yesterday. And I dont have the time nor energy right now to do anything more. I caught a bug when in NY and have been in bed for 48 hours. Hope to be done with it soon. Must be PTS hanging around with all those SPs... This promo piece encapsulates so much of what is wrong with scientology in such a short space. The hype. The astonishing false statistics that are presented as "fact" and accepted just because. The amazing amount of money they feel they are entitled to be given just because they are. The absolute (and unfounded) certainty that they have the ONLY … [Read more...]
Planetary Dissem Scam
More from the scam files. The latest "meter con." I wonder what people are doing with all those "special edition" Mark VI and VII's they bought? Not only are they not "collector's items" you cannot even use them as meters.... "...the vibrant magnificence of this[sic] limited edition meters makes a prestigious statement in three breathtaking colors." "...this very limited edition meter is an iconic awe inspiring beauty like no other." "Still others have built themselves into the very fabric of Scientology history by acquiring the full set." The bullshit is literally nose deep in … [Read more...]
The Infamous NYC Stress Test
A quick report from a Special Correspondent in the home of the "ideal" New York org (and of course the invisible CCNY and the imaginary Harlem ideal org, and the non existent Missions). This is where the infamous "stress test" began -- pushed into a fad by Angie Blankenship when she and Jenny Linson were sent by Miscavige to "expand the org" so the ideal building could open -- 10 years ago now. And yes, he spoke to them on the phone AT LEAST ONCE EVERY DAY and sent them long, rambling written orders every day too. Warren McShane and Allen Cartwright perjurious deposition … [Read more...]
Send In Your “Old” Materials and Meters For “Disposal”
I am well aware of Godwin's Law* but I just could not think of any better visualization of the message of this email. Everything that has been decreed "unacceptable" in today's fundamentalist scientology is to be collected up and disposed of. Books, materials and e-meters. And just why is this no longer "acceptable"? Because the Dear Leader has declared it to be so. It was all perfectly OK until he stood on stage last November and announced that as of now it is no longer acceptable reading material. Hell, they were trying to unload these VERY meters by offering discounts on them up until … [Read more...]
