The media reports that Paul Haggis is now being accused of sexual assault. He responds that scientology may be behind these claims. There is good reason to believe this is no crazy conspiracy theory. Here is why. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of scientology, took a very dim view of anyone critical of scientology. Whether politician, reporter, disillusioned former follower or his own family members, Hubbard designated them as "enemies" -- not just of scientology, but of mankind. And he laid out in detail how those enemies were to be destroyed. Hubbard decreed that anyone speaking negatively … [Read more...]
Dealing with Critics of Scientology – The L. Ron Hubbard Playbook
If you read this blog, you are likely aware of Leah Remini's upcoming A&E show. I have had the pleasure of working with Leah on this show as a consultant and participant, a cause of great distress for the church. So I thought I might weigh in with some information I feel is pertinent to events now and into the future. As a reader here you are likely also aware of the "church" reaction to the announcement of the show and the first trailer being released - the usual name-calling, smearing and foot stomping that does not RESPOND in any fashion to the abuses being exposed. … [Read more...]
Steve Cannane’s Fair Game
I have just finished reading Australian national journalist Steve Cannane's book Fair Game. I highly recommend it as a very well written and researched account of scientology's history and a revealing expose of newly disclosed and little known information. Steve had earlier commented that I had prompted him to embark on this exercise when I had mentioned the important role Australia had played in the history of scientology -- from the first government inquiry and ban to the Australian High Court decision defining religion and the precedent setting role of Australian media unintimidated by … [Read more...]
“Standard Tech” Fair Game
Funny how transparent scientology is. Under the guise of being "standard" and "on source" these clowns stumble and bumble around doing the most incredibly foolish things that invariably blow up in their faces. I recently received two separate emails, both containing the same text, though they concern two different people. Under the guise of conducting an "ethics interrogatory" the emails are intended only to create mistrust and worry about Glenn Samuels and Candy Swanson in the minds of the people that are the recipients of the emails. How can you tell these are not a real … [Read more...]
Lying and Fundamentalist Scientology — Sunday Redux
This was originally posted on 29 December 2013. It has only gotten worse.... Is the "Church of Scientology" a fundamentalist organization? In my view, it is. And if you read the criteria for fundamentalism above, there is not much doubt that the hard core members of the church fit right in to these 5 points. I was prompted to write this by an interesting post on Marty's blog a little while ago entitled Trained To Lie. I posted a comment in response which I repeat here: Marty — the corollary to this is the fact that these people will do anything to “protect the church” and bel … [Read more...]
It’s “Damagingly Commercial” – LRH
A Special Correspondent sent this to me and it is an interesting study for a couple of reasons. First -- you can see the contempt LRH had for The Auditor being "damagingly commercial" and "putting emphasis on speed through courses." How do you think he would view the current scene in scientology? The statements made in this Auditor are positively pathetic compared to what is said today about the "speed up the Bridge" and with GAT II ESPECIALLY focused on the "speed of training." But even worse, commercialism pervades EVERYTHING in scientology these days -- it is ALL about the m … [Read more...]
The OSA Stooges Latest Footbullet
Take a look at the posting on the African blog here. Clumsy would be a kind description of the buffoonery. These fools make the Three Stooges look like James Bond. Here are my thoughts (because I am featured in their footbullet). 1. The South African blog has become a major headache for the church. They probably have more readers than the church has active members. They don't know what to do about it. 2. So they try to position the blog with the thing the public hates the most. Asking for money. Oh, the irony.... 3. If they really DID send out this idiocy to their public then … [Read more...]
