Unfortunately, this is an oft-heard phrase in the scientology bubble. "Ron says..." or "Do what Ron says". It does not matter if what "Ron says" is gibberish or pablum or ridiculous. The fact that HE said it makes it worth repeating and recognizing as an invaluable tool for life. The quote above is a classic example. It is pompous pontification offering no solution -- merely meanderings couched as if it is sage wisdom. They even include spelling mistakes. And they also what is today a very offensive term (but of course they cannot change it, because this is what Ron said). This simple … [Read more...]
The Path
I posted about this on Facebook, but think it is important enough to reiterate here. I just finished watching the last episode of season one of The Path on Hulu. This is a very well scripted, acted, shot, edited and scored series. But more importantly, it is the best portrayal I have ever seen of the prison of the mind that entraps those in cults. It is extremely difficult to understand why people remain in a cult for anyone who has not experienced it themselves. This show portrays it accurately - the torment and anguish that those with doubts go through, the threat of losing loved ones, … [Read more...]
Some Goofy Shit
This they put in the latest Source mag. It is a condensation/edit of what is contained in the lecture, which is even more incoherent than this. I have highlighted a few statements in here that stand out as particularly strange. In scientology, anything ever said by L. Ron Hubbard is gospel truth and the reliance upon it is a sign of the true fundamentalist. Fundamentalist christians literally read the bible and thus the world is 6000 years old (or some figure, I am not even sure where it comes from) and man occupied the earth concurrently with dinosaurs. L. Ron Hubbard makes similarly … [Read more...]
Random Thoughts
Just some random thoughts. Super Bowl ads: What a colossal waste of money. IF scientology really had an interest in "humanitarian works" they would not spend a dime buying airtime to pat themselves on the back -- because the money would be needed for their humanitarian works. In fact, these ads serve absolutely no purpose than trying to convince the INTERNAL public that scientology is still alive. The reaction from the general public is revulsion and ridicule. The tone of the ads was pretty strange, and could be summed up as "See, we are not as bad as you think we are." There was not … [Read more...]
The “Plan To Take Down Psychiatry”
Ah, the certainty. The arrogance. The absolute conviction that your belief overcomes all facts. This is an example of a scientology fundamentalist (he also happens to make his living collecting donations for his "psychsearch" business in addition to being the "Overt Data Collection" guy for OSA Flag). The "plan to take down psychiatry" is to file complaints against psychiatrists. That assumes the majority of, if not all, psychiatrists are doing something for which a complaint could be filed. And then that those complaints are all found to have grounds and "Hey Presto" the psychs are … [Read more...]
Experts On Everything
The Freewinds is hosting a seminar at AOLA conducted by a public person (that used to be enough to drop jaws, now it is routine), and from the heights of assumed authority, they are going to tell you how to use "LRH Tech" to succeed on the internet.... If there is one thing everyone knows, it is that scientology has conquered the internet. The leading expert on LRH Tech, COB himself, has announced their massive efforts "applying LRH tech" to reach people on the internet. Many times. Using completely made up stats or ones that are broken down so far, they sort of sound impressive, until you … [Read more...]
Fundamentalist Scientologists Unite
So much wrong in such a short announcement. First, "UK's Latest" is pretty badly behind the times. These Basic books and lectures have been around now for 7 years, I don't really understand the logic of promoting someone who is not even FINISHED but is "at the tail end." Don't have anything else to promote so have to get a "success" out of him before he is done so we can use that. Second, Thomas Fehn is ex-Sea Org. In fact, I believe he was the CO FOLO UK at one point. This is sort of like using a success story from David Mayo on the Running Program... Poor Thomas, still trying to make … [Read more...]
“COB, You Are The Best! You Have Given Us The Tech Now…”
Some people have been aghast that I would suggest that fundamentalist Scientologists believe that Miscavige is the reincarnation of LRH. Perhaps reincarnation was an inartful way of expressing myself. Miscavige is the NEW LRH would probably be more accurate. Whether they believe that LRH has now occupied Miscavige's mortal coil or whether they believe Miscavige has now succeeded LRH as unquestioned source is somewhat immaterial. Today, Miscavige is The One. Miscavige Himself seems to be trying to position himself as the "voice of LRH" much like the Pope is God's voice on earth. His … [Read more...]
