OK, this appears to be a new scientology tactic: give an "award" to everyone you know in the hope it will persuade them to show up. Are they seriously giving "awards" to 21 people? That is more people getting awards than Buffalo Org has on staff. It's more winners than the Academy Awards... And I wonder how many of these people know who it is they are being awarded by? They probably think "United For Human Rights Buffalo" is a legitimate organization. It is intended to create that impression. They might even think the "Human Rights" organization is just using the building for their … [Read more...]
FBI — WTF Are You Thinking?
Scientology is circulating this promotional piece: The FBI should be investigating scientology for human rights abuses not legitimizing them with "presentations" at their front groups. The earlier FBI investigation, targeting scientology human trafficking, was scuttled. Now, a scientology front group is trying to legitimize itself by claiming FBI sanction/support. This is happening in a scientology building in downtown Clearwater. The FBI Field Office in Tampa knew a lot about the scientology Human Trafficking investigation. What are they thinking? We KNOW what scientology is thinking - … [Read more...]
An Open Invitation To Discrimination
Here is a new invitation being circulated among the "humanitarians" of the world. Wonder how this "Open Invitation" for "The Freedom of Expression" would work out if your expression was something not entirely fawning about David Miscavige? Or L. Ron Hubbard? Or scientology? Or what if you showed up bearing a cake iced with "Where's Shelly Miscavige?" They are literally inviting everyone/anyone: this invitation accompanied a note inviting a declared SP to attend this event. But then again, this is the email address of the originator: SCN_LFBDFN@ It doesn't fill one with … [Read more...]
IAS Human Rights Claims — Fact Check
Next in the series of efforts to fact check the vague claims of "what your support for the IAS buys". Of interest is that virtually no update of the IAS site has been done since 2007. The same unverifiable generalities are there from when the site was first created. Kudos to Natasha Boris for performing the thankless task of wading through the bs to try to verify any smallest specific that may have slipped into the pages of the IAS website. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Part Two – Human Rights by Natasha Boris From the Human Rights Reference Handbook: “Human rights are ‘commonly under … [Read more...]
