As reported in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, a local mayor rescinded his proclamation marking March 13 as "L. Ron Hubbard Day." "After careful consideration and in alignment with my commitment to honor individuals who have positively impacted our community, I am announcing the rescinding of the proclamation of L. Ron Hubbard," Deltona Mayor Santiago Avila wrote in a post on X. "It was never my intention to recognize Mr. Hubbard, and moving forward, I will implement new Proclamation Guidelines to ensure that our proclamations reflect the values and priorities of the citizens of … [Read more...]
The Pitch: Give Us Your Money Because That’s What LRH Did…
This happy looking, uptone pitchman is Jon DeVries -- formerly an executive in CMO International is now an ideal org fundraiser in South Africa. He has come up with a novel raft of lies to try to gather $6 million for “the last two ideal orgs in S. Africa” (I guess they have abandoned the two orgs in Zimbabwe). Like every scientologist everywhere he has found an LRH quote that seems to justify handing over money. This is what Hubbard said that he quotes: "The giving of something is a very high goal. You have to be in good shape to give things. If you're in good shape you can. Wi … [Read more...]
Conspiracy Theories
Scientologists are very susceptible to conspiracy theories. It doesn’t matter much WHAT it is, many Scientologists readily buy into amu idea that there are a group of evil people determined to enslave/destroy/poison/control people. Here we have, according to Brian Gardner, “the most evil individuals of our time” (scientists?) trying to foist off the big lie… Brian is a hardcore scientologist -- you only need know he was the "PR" for SFO Org and read his last sentence to dispel any possible doubts about that. Why is this willingness to latch on to these theories so prevalent in sciento … [Read more...]
The Ideal “Ideal Org”?
Has scientology now officially jumped the shark? This woman is proudly announcing they are setting up a "survival club" in the jungle in Yucatan, apparently with alarm bells clanging in her head with respect to the tragedy of Jonestown (in the jungle of Guyana)? One could assume this is just "rogue" members doing their own thing. But they are using an LRH reference and promoting it in the scientology world. If you can claim what you're doing is "based on LRH" there are plenty of people who will jump on board. Even for the wildest garbage. Or maybe this is just the new plan for ideal, … [Read more...]
Scientology’s War on Judges
Following the recent blog post about the April 1978 article in the Washington Post from April 1978, I came across this one from May 78 by the same reporter. Once again, scientology's own documents indict them (in this case, literally). Though they deny everything, the people who were indicated (including Mary Sue Hubbard) all pled guilty and spent time in Federal prison. Of course, scientology cannot change it's modus operandi. As I said in my earlier post, the only reason we don't have documents today like this today is there has been no raid to gather the evidence of their current … [Read more...]
Some Background on Scientology’s Efforts to Destroy Enemies
Over the last few weeks, Chris Owen (author of many insightful writings about Hubbard and scientology, including his excellent book, Ron The War Hero) has done a series of posts with Tony Ortega on Substack describing the history of the harassment campaigns carried out by scientology. As is always the case with Chris, he is a meticulous researcher and summarizes the information in a concise and accurate way. This is important information that should be as widely available as possible, so I am combining his 3 pieces into one longer article and reprinting it below. It's fascinating … [Read more...]
More Scientology Hypocrisy
Yet again, the OSA trolls expose themselves and the Hubbard way. One of the recently more active in bots stable, "Lory Guy" came out swinging with an "applicable LRH quote." Scientology frequently claims their freedom of speech is being denied because people are "telling lies about them." In fact, they are spinning some of the tallest tales imaginable, repeating accusations that are completely disproven, in an effort to follow Hubbard's policy of muzzling/destroying their denominated enemies (anyone who says things they don' t like). Just one egregious example: they routinely state Leah a … [Read more...]
Wisdom from Ron on the Evil of TV
While scientology continues to promote ScientologyTV network (and don't you dare refer to it as a streaming channel --even though that is exactly what it is -- or scientology will accuse you of being a bigot because you don't buy into their "network" nomenclature) it seems they have forgotten, or are ignoring the wisdom of their Founder. L. Ron Hubbard banned TV for Sea Org members, referring to it as: "only a pattern of lights and shadows which is a restimulative mechanism to shuffle your bank around, and give you again some segment of that which you have already experienced." Below is an … [Read more...]
David Miscavige was NOT Anointed by Hubbard
It is always amusing to read scientology's hagiographic musings about their fearless leader, Captain Miscavige. He has a website dedicated to him and the same content is repeated in the special section devoted to the COB on the Scientology website. Nobody fact checks the claims made about him, Scientology operates on the principle of putting out so much garbage and lies that nobody can keep up with all the falsehoods so they eventually become true. Here are a few glaring examples, taking the statements right from their website: Barely a year after entering the Sea Organization—the religious o … [Read more...]
According to L. Ron Hubbard, David Miscavige is a Suppressive Squirrel
"For some years now we have had a word "squireling." It means altering Scientology, offbeat practices. It is a bad thing. Squirreling is today destructive of a workable system. " L. Ron Hubbard HCOPL 14 Feb 65 SAFEGUARDING TECHNOLOGY A reader recently prompted me to look up LRH EDs about the release of OT VIII. I came across LRH ED 301 Ron's Journal 30 from December 1978. While it does not say what he had recalled (there may be something else that does that I have not yet located), I was struck by some things that have often been commented on as sidenotes, but if … [Read more...]
