We recently saw how the May 9th celebration has been turned into a mention at graduation in local orgs. It used to be an "international event" held at the Shrine Auditorium. Now apparently the "Maiden Voyage" is being "celebrated" as a "Taking it to New Heights" (Lows?) "festival" at CC Int. One has to wonder whether the paranoia of Miscavige is dictating how everything is being conducted in scientology? Is there really not going to be a "Maiden Voyage" again this year? If it's not the fear of COVID dictating events, it's probably the fear of being served in lawsuits that is driving his … [Read more...]
Maiden Voyage Event 4
Here is the final report on the "week of events" to celebrate Maiden Voyage 2016. Miscavige was feeling overworked for the week, having to deliver that opening night address and then the IAS pitch-a-thon, so he dished this one off to a bunch of nobodies. Anyone these days apparently qualifies as "International Church executives" - the headliner for this event was the CO PAC? Wow.... There is some fascinating information here. "More than 500 scientologists have formed new groups in Los Angeles" - funny, not a single one of these "new groups" has ever been shown (or even seen by … [Read more...]
Maiden Voyage Event 3
The third event of the 2016 Maiden Voyage week of extravaganza seems to have lived up to all that has gone before when it comes to IAS briefings. Ridiculous hype about events in far off places that should strain even the most ardent sheeple's credulity. Announced victories over destroyed enemies -- the same "victories" over psychiatry that have been announced year after year. According to the impeccable news source Int Scn News/David Miscavige, by this time psychiatry should have long since ceased to exist, but in the real world they seem to be doing just fine with new buildings that act … [Read more...]
Maiden Voyage Event 1
This is the second posting in the coverage of this year's Maiden Voyage. Yesterday's post is here. Things got off to a bang at "Opening Night" - traditionally consisting of the "Rolling Thunder" presentation, some hype about the number of inches of sea traversed by the Moneywinds and joking and degrading at the expense of the "OT Ambassadors." Dear Leader set the stage with a huge, bald-faced lie -- "in full"(?) "just since last year, the number of scientologists advancing up the bridge has multiplied ten times over." This is just pulled out of his ass. Much like the 46X before … [Read more...]
Maiden Voyage Overview
The 2016 edition of the International Scientology News Maiden Voyage edition has hit the mailboxes of thousands of disinterested recipients. I will do a series of posts covering the events of each night, starting with this overview of the ISN and the Maiden Voyage itself. In a word, the whole thing was underwhelming. Monumental, epic underwhelm. The MV (and thus the magazine) was mostly rehash. As always, the ISN is printed on oversize high-gloss (expensive) paper with what has become the norm, a DVD attached to the back page. This is EXPENSIVE "promo" that is really just hype to try … [Read more...]
It’s All About Aesthetics
A bit of fun to kick off the weekend. You will all be relieved to hear that THIS Maiden Voyage is all about "aesthetics." It also seems they have rolled back time. Though the 25th Anniversary of the MV HotAir was last year, and though the magnificent Dear Leader cancelled that event because he was too busy preparing for GAG II (which then didn't arrive til November), he has simply proclaimed THIS year to be the 25th anniversary so he could use the video put together for last year's aborted MV. And my word everyone, those silver streamers (also salvaged from last year) are just SOOO a … [Read more...]
