The big push to "go ideal" is happening at the perpetually moribund Foothills Mission. There is in fact no such thing as an "Ideal Mission" -- there is a policy by Hubbard called "The Ideal Org" which is what is used to name the concept Miscavige has foisted off of raising money to buy and renovate a new building for an old church. In fact, the "ideal orgs" don't resemble the Hubbard policy. But there isn't even a policy about "Ideal Missions" so this is even more squirrel... BUT, it's being touted as a new fundraising cause: Now for the big reveal of what is going to become the … [Read more...]
More Wisdom from Ron
Another in the series of posts about the insane practice of scientologists plucking statements from "Ron" and presenting them as the most valuable words of wisdom in the history of language. This is apparently an "amazing" quote: What is so brilliant about this gibberish? And what are you supposed to DO with it? Another sad exposition of cult mentality -- the words of the leader can never be questioned or doubted. Scientologists firmly believe that IF Hubbard said it, it is not merely "true" but a profound pronouncement based on unassailable research. After all, he said he did … [Read more...]
The Big Lie Rolls On
This is one of the more amazing pieces of bubble-think... It was sent to me for the Thursday Funnies, but this little piece of Facebook genius deserves its own post. What a HUGE accomplishment this is -- they got 2 new people doing OCA's! The Cult Shopping Network is clearly flooding the orgs and missions with curious people. OMG, 2 OCA's is a "Win, win, win." If that is true, and these people are not overwhelmed with new public, then the CSN is a complete failure. But even more interesting: Sunland/Tujunga, according to Lydia Hopwood, consists of 30% scientologists. The … [Read more...]
Scientology Shriveling
With great fanfare, scientology screams "expansion" every time they cut the ribbon on an old org relocated to an expensive new building. Recently we saw one of their upcoming projects, Perth "ideal" org, talking about how they are going to be clearing "Malasia", Singapore and Indonesia. There is no thought of opening ORGS in these countries. Instead, they desperately fundraise to buy a new building for a small, failing org that has ALWAYS been small and failing and proudly proclaim this will herald a new era in countries thousands of miles away. Pure insanity. Remember when … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
"The Strategy for Clearing Florida" You can bet it consists of ONE thing. You giving them your money. They have no strategy. There isn't even an org in Jacksonville. Or Tallahassee. Or Naples. Or West Palm Beach. Or Daytona Beach. Or Pensacola. Or Gainesville. And there isn't even a Mission in any of these places. Their "strategy" consists of mental masturbation. And your money. We love people from all religions As long as they have spendable cash. And we will pretend we care about their holidays to get them to hand it over. Season's … [Read more...]
Missions Impossible
The world of scientology missions is even grimmer than scientology orgs. Here is the latest news from the "ideal" Mission in Ocala. This Mission was opened by John Travolta and Kelly Preston in their hometown as a gift to the community. They fully renovated a building and it was one of the first "ideal" missions. There were a few "celebrity" that came before it: Jenna Elfman in SOMA SFO opened to great fanfare and now an empty shell. Anne Archer's Santa Monica Mission - opened and then closed almost as fast. Isaac Hayes and Lisa Marie Presley in Memphis - sold off by Benetta Slaughter and … [Read more...]
More Proof Scientology Is Not Expanding
Every day things arrive in my email from people around the world that highlight the absurdity of the scientology bubble. Many of them concern the claimed "straight up and vertical" international expansion Miscavige talks about at every event. You know, international expansion greater in the last 437.3 days than the 12,469,873.2 minutes cumulative previously... 12 million scientologists. New orgs opening everywhere. Governments fully adopting scientology. LRH tech pervading society. More awards for Hubbard than any many or beast in history. Square inches of new marble inlaid. … [Read more...]
Conversations With Scientologists
A couple of people have recently sent me copies of email correspondence they have had with people in the church. They were not working together, but both hit upon the same concept: responding to church efforts to get new people in or collect money from existing public and using this as an opportunity to present some facts to people they might not otherwise be able to reach. It is also interesting to see the reactions, responses and "pitches" that are employed. This first is with a Mission who had advertised a Big League Sales Seminar. The responses from the mission person are in … [Read more...]
The Mission Network More Lies Exposed
Here is something a Special Correspondent just forwarded to me: This week's international Mission Birthday Game Standings. It follows perfectly from my Sunday Redux post The Missions of Scientology -- Where Are They? (and yesterday's with Jeff Hawkin's classic infographic). When that Missions posting was written in March 2013 there were 325 missions internationally. This new leak provides an interesting and very up to date comparison with which to analyze the massive, straight up and vertical international expansion under the brilliant and dedicated leadership of Mr. David M … [Read more...]
How Big Is Scientology? Lies Exposed
Quote from Karin Pouw letter to Tampa Bay Times June 2012 : The last three years tell you all you need to know: The Church has doubled in size since your sources left and, since your opening articles in 2009, Church expansion has only accelerated, contrary to the predictions of both the Times and your sources. It's but one example. Virtually every media who has written anything about scientology in the last decade or more have received similar communications from the church or its lawyers. But the facts are very different. There is NOTHING that supports their lies. To make it VERY … [Read more...]
