Scientology spews out paid ads proclaiming their wondrous contributions to society, most especially to Clearwater. I see these things on Twitter and when I respond they delete my responses. So, in keeping with the time-honored solution of “doing what Ron says,” I am putting my response on my own channel of communication where it cannot be altered (or deleted). Their tweet above makes the bold claim that scientology paid $3.1 million in property and tourist taxes in 2018. And that they "generate $1 billion impact into the local economy." As for the first claim -- this may well be cor … [Read more...]
More on Miscavige and Clearwater
Further on the blog post from yesterday (Miscavige Schmoozing City Officials) -- some important points I omitted to mention and an update. First: Why were these 3 city officials at the meeting? As I said yesterday, Miscavige considers Bill Horne and Pam Aiken to be his buddies. But the real reason is that they are not ELECTED officials. If there were two ELECTED officials in the room it becomes a "public meeting" subject to the Sunshine Act laws. Bill Horne and Pam Aiken are very well aware of this. They were complicit in making sure this meeting was not one that had to be … [Read more...]
Scientology in Clearwater
Scientology has been desperately trying to generate some goodwill in Clearwater. They are advertising on local radio for people to watch ScientologyTV (you can bet that isn't working)... They are sponsoring Tweets every day like this one. The problem is, those first two comments are only the tip of the iceberg. Here are the rest of them (haven't looked for an update since I wrote this a couple of days ago -- but I am sure things have NOT improved). Not a SINGLE supportive reply -- and I assume they have been deleting "entheta" responses fairly … [Read more...]
Hubbard, his Photographs and the IRS
Christi Gordon came across this 1975 document and forwarded to me. It contains some interesting material worthy of comment. Hubbard announces he has been informed that there will be no deal with the IRS and thus there will be a 4 or 5 year fight. OF course, he has a solution that will save the day (history doesn't look kindly on many of his predictions and solutions). And this is an especially bizarre one. IN 1974 Hubbard had begun shooting “photo stories” aboard the Apollo. These horrendously staged and lit images were the focus of attention of a large number of crew at the time -- cr … [Read more...]
Guy White Speaks
In a new article in the Daily Mail, L. Ron Hubbard's former son-in-law speaks out for the first time. This is a bombshell. Knowing as much as I do about the circumstances surrounding Guy, Miscavige, L. Ron Hubbard and scientology, you can be assured he is not making anything up. You can read the article in the link above. It contains a lot of information that many may not have heard about the Hubbard family. What I found most revealing though is the cookie-cutter response from scientology. These days they apparently can't muster much of a defense. It's very standard stuff. ANd … [Read more...]
The Clearwater PR Offensive
Immediately following the revelations in the recent Tampa Bay Times article by Tracey McManus, scientology launched their version of a campaign to convince the citizens of Clearwater they are in fact good for the city. They distributed Freedom magazines to people's doors in the dead of night to try to persuade them the reason downtown Clearwater looks like the set for the latest installment of the Night of The Living Dead movies is not because they bought it up and leave most of the properties empty or massively underutilized, it is because the big bad meanies at the Tampa Bay … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
Anything to get them in... Magic. Music. Dance lesson. Painting. Desperation to try to get "bodies in the shop." Featured Attraction? Now it's a "jam session" at a new time Why I joined staff? It made sense. Gosh -- did they tell you about the hours and the pay? And the futility of it all? Just guess the answer to this riddle... They would use the same tagline for "Talk Therapy or Torture" -- anything a psych does is torture. Ron tells us so. Absolutely no fundraising We are done with … [Read more...]
Our 10th Anniversary
The first blog post on mikerindersblog.org was on 5 November 2009. It's been 10 years but it sure doesn't seem that long! It's been a lot of fun along the way. I have met many wonderful people here (and quite a number subsequently IRL which has been especially gratifying). Hopefully I have opened a window to discovering the truth about scientology for many. This blog would not have been possible without the support of many who have helped. While it is a labor of love (or perhaps passion) it IS labor and first my thanks to the many contributors who have provided content and … [Read more...]
“New” Tech
This "Exciting new releases" announcement showed up. First, there is absolutely NOTHING new in the realm of "Study Tech" -- it is the same stuff Hubbard announced in the 6o's and 70's. Nothing has been added. Someone has repackaged the same old same old and is now presenting it as "exciting" and "new"... Applied Scholastics (the home of Hana and Rizza Islam -- who are still appearing all over their website despite the fact that they are proceeding to trial in their case of defrauding the government with a scam using "Applied Scholastics" as a front) is apparently trying to distance … [Read more...]
“New” Ideal Orgs
The Kansas City and Columbus "ideal orgs" are supposed to open over the next 2 weekends. This is no surprise -- Miscavige probably stayed in the UK and is flying directly to Kansas City for the opening, which is why it is one week after the IAS. It is also timed so he could get a double whammy -announce it at the IAS and then show the ribbon yanking as main topics To prove massive international expansion at the New Years Event. He could not have an entire year with NO "ideal orgs." Back in the good old days he had them at each event throughout the year. Remember the hullabaloo about … [Read more...]
