This might seem like a foolish question -- but not when it come to L. Ron Hubbard. He apparently needs a whole lot of homes and even more offices... It is one of the lesser-known bizarre facts about scientology and the worship of L. Ron Hubbard that subsequent to his death (or in the words of David Miscavige he "discarded the body... he had used to facilitate his existence in this MEST universe," because it "had ceased to be useful and in fact had become an impediment to the work he now must do outside of its confines”), many fully furnished mansions and lavish homes were co … [Read more...]
Inane Letters from the Edge
Long-time contributor Clearly Not Clear was the lucky recipient of a letter from St Hill. Odd, because Clearly lives in the US and has never even been to St Hill, let alone taken any services there... But anyone familiar with scientology knows that Hubbard dictates that letters must be written every week. He says that the number of letters out is the controlling factor in the amount of income (and size not quality is what's important -- an idea that has been scrupulously applied in scientology orgs all over the world) and the second datum "an org is in complete control of their letters … [Read more...]
St Hill is booming I tell you, booming
Here is some new hype from the original St Hill (and now home to the infamous IAS "Eunuch Man" statue): Dear Xxxxxx, I wanted to inform you of the great expansion that is happening at Saint Hill right now. First of all, you will be pleased to know that we are experiencing an incredible OT boom, having people come from all around the world to do their OT Levels. In fact we now have 127 people auditing on the Solo OT Levels. The expansion does not end there, in fact, we are right now finishing the construction of our Central Qualification Organization that will be manned by a total of 40 Sea … [Read more...]
The Briefing Course
Look what St. Hill is promoting... The wonders of the (empty) Briefing Course -- the greatest course ever taught by L. Ron Hubbard. In the halcyon years of scientology in the early 60's he delivered more than 400 lectures to students who had come from around the world to learn at the feet of the master. It has been promoted since that time as the most complete and comprehensive study of scientology that made the best auditors. You truly were not a professional auditor of any stature unless you had done the "BC" and became one of "The Dukes of the Auditor Elite." Yet, since GAT II there … [Read more...]
How Big is “St Hill Size”
There is a lot of mention of "St Hill Size" in scientology. It is one of the great catchphrases that motivates the sheeple "We are going St Hill Size," heard almost as often as "We are Clearing the planet" (but not as often as "will that be cash or check?"). But what exactly does St Hill Size mean and why is it important? St Hill is the name of the estate in Sussex, England that L. Ron Hubbard bought in 1959 and converted into the international headquarters of scientology. There were "difficulties" in the US and he decided the UK was a safer operating climate. That lasted for a few … [Read more...]
How Big is Scientology?
The question as to how big scientology really is comes up often. The organization does not make its membership figures known though they have a good count with the total number of IAS members. Of course even that is inflated as it is notoriously difficult to get OFF a scientology mailing list and as long as they can still send you junk mail you "count" on their statistic. Over the years, spokespeople have variously claimed 4, 6, 8 or 10 million "members" but then refuse to define what a "member" is though a few times they have stated it is "anyone who had bought a book or taken a service … [Read more...]
Ideal Orgs, St Hill Size and Imaginary Bunnies
Another "Oops" from within. And this one is sadder than most. This couple "had to sacrifice many things in life" in order to hand over the needed funds to be anointed a "humanitarian." And it was all for naught. That is truly sad. I imagine these are good people who believe they are helping their fellow man. But setting that aside, let’s discuss the imaginary bunnies that spread tall tales believed only by those in the bubble. Pam and Ed make a rather startling admission. When they say "during Boston's St Hill size days" this was in the early 70's... nearly 50 YEARS ago. St Hill … [Read more...]
Old St Hill On Life Support
Things are not too rosy at old St Hill. Their new Auditor mag clearly demonstrates how pathetic St Hill is -- and this is what ALL ORGS are striving to be like! Of course, they no longer have a Briefing Course to deliver - the original PURPOSE of the organization. But without having to devote resources to delivering the BC, one would imagine they would be doing a bang-up job of making up for that with everything else... Not so much. No wonder a new "Command Team" of Flag trained nobodies was sent to replace John Danilovich. This place is disappearing faster than a snowball in the … [Read more...]
UK “Expansion”
A recent hypemail from "Ron's Home" caught my attention. Of course, Ron's Home is where they no longer deliver the St Hill Special Briefing Course and St Hill Fdn no longer exists. Hey, there are all sorts of indicators of "milestones" and "straight up and vertical" in scientology. Just as long as you proclaim the contraction is actually expansion, the sheeple buy it. War is peace. But what really made me this stand out to me was the LRH quote. This is the quote that "10,000 on or through Solo NOTs" is based on. Somehow the sheeple have come to accept that if there were that number … [Read more...]
