The fourth installment of the first draft of a novel written by our old friend Terra Cognita. For the next little while it is our Sunday Serial. Terra welcomes all suggestions and feedback -- this is draft -- you can note them in the comments. Time, Place, Form, and Event Chapter 19 A couple of hours later, Brenda walked into the room followed by Doug, and four guys in blue coveralls. One carried two of gallons of bleach. The last guy in line held a big square of folded, gray plastic. I felt just about as dead as Joan. “These guys are here to take care of things,” Brenda said. “Cl … [Read more...]
Time, Place, Form, and Event Part 2
This is the second installment of the first draft of a novel written by our old friend Terra Cognita. For the next little while it is our Sunday Serial. Terra welcomes all suggestions and feedback -- this is draft -- you can note them in the comments. Time, Place, Form, and Event Chapter 7 “Help!” I screamed. My voice was becoming hoarse. And Joan hadn’t moved since I’d begun “CPR.” Which seemed like an hour ago. I had to do something else. Like call an ambulance. “I’m gonna run for help.” I almost added, “Don’t move. Stay where you are.” I jumped up and dashed out of the room a … [Read more...]
Why People Stick Around as Long as They Do
It's SaTerraDay! It is also the day for the Aftermath Meet Up in downtown Clearwater at 5pm. Not sure if we will be in any shape to be doing a posting tomorrow morning, so if there is nothing, don't be alarmed it will be for a good reason. Spent a great evening with Aaron and Heather Smith-Levin, Marc and Claire Headley, Nathan Rich, Tara Reile and Mary and David Kahn last night as a pre-event warm-up. Hope to be meeting with many more people this evening! Some are flying from out of town -- two notables include the wonderful Len Zinberg and the next Mayor of Hemet, Erin … [Read more...]
Two Main Types of Ex-Scientologists
It's SaTerraDay -- yay! Two Main Types of Ex-Scientologists There are two main types of ex-Scientologists: Type 1: Those that still believe in the tech. Type 2: Those that don’t. Not Written in Stone Are these generalities? Yes. Are there gradient variations and differences within each group? Absolutely. Do people waffle? All the time. If labeling people was good enough for L. Ron Hubbard, please allow me to indulge in a bit of pigeonholing, myself. LRH preached that his theories were one hundred percent correct and workable all the time. I fully admit that my words are biased o … [Read more...]
Scientology, Generalities, and Paranoia
Happily, it's SaTerraDay once again... Scientology, Generalities, and Paranoia In HCOPL, The Anti-Social Personality, The Anti-Scientologist, L. Ron Hubbard wrote that among his twelve attributes, the Anti-Social Personality “speaks only in very broad generalities. ‘They say...’ ‘Everybody thinks...’ ‘Everybody knows...’ and such expressions are in continual use, particularly when imparting rumor. When asked ‘Who is everybody...’ it normally turns out to be one source and from this source the Anti-Social Personality has manufactured what he or she pretends is the whole opinion of the whole so … [Read more...]
Seminar: Another of Scientology’s MUs
It's SaTerraDay... Seminar: Another of Scientology’s MUs MU stands for “misunderstood word.” And according to L. Ron Hubbard is one of the primary causes for man’s fall from grace. I’m pretty sure that way back when, the two words “view” and “point” were not understood by the majority of budding young thetans first visiting this universe. Another of Scientology’s biggest MUs is the word “seminar.” Per Dictionary.com, seminar is defined as “a small group of students, as in a university, engaged in advanced study and original research under a member of the faculty and meeting regularly to exch … [Read more...]
More on Conditions in Scientology
It's SaTerraDay More on Conditions in Scientology According L. Ron Hubbard: “A Danger Condition is normally assigned when: An Emergency Condition has continued too long. A statistic plunges downward very steeply. A senior executive suddenly finds himself or herself wearing the hat of the head of the activity because it is in trouble.” First Dynamic Formula Bypass habits or normal routines. Handle the situation and any danger in it. Assign self a Danger Condition. Get in your own personal ethics by finding what you are doing that is out-ethics and use self- … [Read more...]
Scientology Condition of Liability
Scientology Condition of Liability I’m always amazed at the ability of Scientologists to turn a blind eye to the LRH tech and policy they’ve sworn to follow and uphold. I should know. From my first week as a student on the Communication Course way back when, I put on blinders every time I walked in the mission. The more I studied, the more I knew things weren’t completely right. Then again, there was this young blonde girl... But I digress. Per L. Ron Hubbard’s Condition of Liability, “Below Non-Existence there is the Condition of Liability. The being has ceased to be simply non-existent as a … [Read more...]
Shitty Auditors
It's SaTerraDay! Shitty Auditors I might ruffle a few hardcore tech-infused feathers with this one. Wouldn’t be the first time. I know…many of you have had great auditors and tremendous wins in session. Many of you wouldn’t be half the person you are now if not for the gains you achieved at the hands of those wonderful people sitting on the other side of the e-meter. Reality check #1: you were in the minority. For those of you who truly went Clear and ascended to the state of cause over all matter, energy, space, and time…you may now take umbrage. Most auditors are good people. Most got into … [Read more...]
Schadenfreude! Fun for the Whole Family!
It's SaTerraDay once again... Schadenfreude! Fun for the Whole Family! “Schadenfreude” is the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another (Wikipedia). I know it’s wrong but I love this word—it just sounds cool—and as much as I try, I can’t seem to feel sympathetic and not gloat at the misfortunes of Scientology. I can’t seem to rise above and turn away from watching the demise of the church and seeing those old friends still trapped inside get their comeuppance. Apparently, I’m not as “great” or … [Read more...]
