My friend (and loyal reader and supporter) Dr. X and her partner, Paul sent me these photos from their trip to Myanmar. You may have seen some of the other shot they have taken in their travels on the Blown For Good YouTube channel with Marc and Claire Headley. These shots are so beautiful I wanted to share them with everyone -- and of course Fake Navy Davey and Bobble Mike are featured in every one, which sort of spoils the aesthetic but is some fun. There are still some Fake Navy Davey and Mike bobbles available at the SP Shop -- all proceeds go directly to the Aftermath Foundation. … [Read more...]
A Social Media Expert Analysis of SPTV
Jefferson Hawkins sent this article to me, written by Monia Ali on her substack exiledfan: Activist fandom and the defanging of the anti-Scientology movement Unfortunately, it contains fancy terms -- it would be more understandable if she used simple language… but it's enlightening nevertheless. The conclusion is this (along with the second footnote from earlier in the article): What started as a fight against Scientology has transformed into a fight against the main character of the week, diffusing the motivated indignation against the big bad into negative attachments to the people who ha … [Read more...]
It’s Never a Bad Day for a Good Smear
I want to address an important matter circulating in the former scientologist community for the last few weeks concerning a criminal investigation into child sexual abuse allegations against the father of Mirriam Francis. I will lay out the timeline and associated evidence in this blog post. First, I want to be clear: I don't want anyone attacking Mirriam or anyone else on my behalf. What Mirriam has been through in her life, mainly due to scientology, is something no person should ever have to face. For those seeking the actual facts, this blog post contains … [Read more...]

Ex-Scientologist Support Group Portland
I want to give a plug to my old and dear friend Jefferson Hawkins who has started this group in Portland OR for former scientologists. Jeff has some others working together with him on this, but he is the "name" and I encourage anyone in the Portland area to connect up with them. Head over on February 25 to meet up with some really good people. Perhaps this is something that could be done in other cities too. Sort of an adjunct to The Aftermath Foundation. Thanks Jeff, for this and so much else you have done. You are voice of reason, intelligence and compassion. … [Read more...]
Signed Copies of A Billion Years
In response to many requests, I have signed more copies of A Billion Years and they are now available through the SP Shop. This is a way of raising funds for The Aftermath Foundation -- all monies are used to help people escape from scientology and transition into the "wog" world. I wanted to get this announcement out for anyone who wanted a signed edition and missed out earlier, with the first people to hear about it on my blog. There are a limited number available (I signed 60, the site will tell you how many are left). Each book is $75. Thursday Funnies will appear on … [Read more...]
The Aftermath Foundation Cards
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. A scientology FSM hands out business cards to attract new marks. Interesting she chooses a quote that calls scientology an "applied philosophy" and not a religion, yet she uses the quote (without attribution) that Hubbard said Volunteer MINISTERS should use "I will talk to you or anyone for you about anything." I suspect this business card is part of a campaign by scientology having seen the repeated postings on social media of people leaving Aftermath Foundation business cards in front of orgs, on notice boards, in … [Read more...]
Episode 60: Clearwater City Council Candidate Aaron Smith-Levin
In this episode we talk to our old friend Aaron Smith-Levin about a wide variety of topics, including the status of Goliath the SP dog, but focus on his announcement that he is running to be elected to the Clearwater City Council and the activities of the Aftermath Foundation. Aaron appeared in the original season of The Aftermath, in one of the more memorable episodes: My recent post about Aaron running for City Council: Aaron Smith-Levin for City Council website: Leah Remini: Scientology and the … [Read more...]
Cult City Tour and The Aftermath Foundation
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the tour of Downtown Clearwater yesterday to benefit The Aftermath Foundation. And also to those who listened in remotely. We had a fun time and it was wonderful to see such a strong show of support from so many smiling faces. Our enormous appreciation to everyone for supporting the Aftermath Foundation. The Foundation's meaningful work continues, mostly unseen and not often talked about for the protection and peace of mind of those who are helped. It's the opposite of a scientology "humanitarian programs" where they don't do anything unless the … [Read more...]
Neuroplasticity
This mini ebook was sent in by a supporter of the Aftermath Foundation accompanied by the following thoughts. It contains some thought-provoking ideas that are anathema to anyone who subscribes to the principles expounded by L. Ron Hubbard. But there are a lot of things in this world that help people that he derided. Perhaps you will find something that provides some relief/assistance to you in these ideas. They are certainly offered with the best intentions. I am a Certified Neurosculpting Facilitator at the Neurosculpting Institute in Denver, and I have something for you. I t … [Read more...]
