As you may have noticed, there have been some issues in the last couple of days with the blog. They may continue for a bit while things are sorted out. Please have patience. Taking the lead from Miscavige, I declare this to be a cyberspace bullbait. Here is what I know. While the number of visits to this site has increased steadily following the Netflix airings of The Aftermath it did not create an issue until a few days ago when things started to ramp up with bots putting a lot of demand on the site, and then seeking to login (none succeeded). This is not uncommon in the … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Tax Exemption
I happened to pull up this posting from April 2015 and in re-reading it I thought it important enough to repost here today. With The Aftermath on Netflix, many new people are being exposed to the horrifying truth about scientology for the first time. And many have the same question as those who have been in the know for some time. How is it that scientology can be tax exempt? This is a pretty good essay that explains in some detail why it should NOT. And it addresses a bit why it hasn’t changed. Unfortunately, with a conservative majority now firmly entrenched in the US Supreme Court, … [Read more...]
Episode 18: Mary Kahn from The Aftermath
Leah and I were very happy to welcome Mary Kahn to the podcast this week. Hers was one of the most compelling episodes on The Aftermath - telling the story of her breaking away from scientology after completing OT VIII and the fallout with her family. The airing on Netflix has put her in the spotlight once again. We went into further detail about her story and covered some other topics I am sure everyone will find fascinating. I will include a link to the episode as soon as it is available. We mention a few items I am including here. First, the reporting about Hy … [Read more...]
Episode 17: Former Sea Org Executive Claire Headley
Leah and I were extremely happy to welcome our old friend Claire Headley to the Fair Game podcast. Claire of course appeared in 2 episodes of The Aftermath -- and she was recently featured on the Netflix home page: I have known Claire and her husband Marc since I first went to the Gold Base -- way back in the 80's. Claire worked closely with Miscavige as an executive in Religious Technology Center. She was the Deputy Inspector General Internal. Claire helped me many times, she is one of the few people I know -- especially at the international level, and even more specifically in … [Read more...]
Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath Now on Netflix
As of today, 3 seasons of The Aftermath are now available on Netflix... Hoping this will generate a new wave of interest in ending the abuses of scientology. … [Read more...]
“The Aftermath” Song
Thursday night we witnessed a wonderful performance by a very talented young woman at the annual ChildUSA Gala. McKenna Gray composed and performed her latest song, "The Aftermath": These are the lyrics: THE AFTERMATH VERSE 1 We don't get to choose where we grow up Or who stays in our lives when we are young. What happens behind closed doors is something we could never stop. Don't believe the lies they told you. It was never your fault. CHORUS: This isn't how it was meant to go. It's so easy to lose who we are in the undertow. But we're not just some rubble left … [Read more...]
They Cannot Get Over It
Ed Parkin (and his Dear Leader, David Miscavige) continue to be obsessed about A&E. Not content that The Aftermath completed its 3 season run more than a year ago, they are operating on the Hubbard dictum "I never forget, I always even the score" and continue, once a week on average, to write editorials demanding the entire A&E network be exterminated. They literally want to cost every A&E employee their job, also pursuant to the dictates of Hubbard. Everyone who works at A&E is an "enemy" because they are connected to The Aftermath, Leah Remini and Mike Rinder. Why does … [Read more...]
An Interview with Leah Remini
If you didnt see this on my social media yesterday, I recommend you read this piece in AwardsCircuit.com about The Aftermath. It is pegged to the Emmy nomination for the finale that aired last year (the result will be announced on Monday 14 Sept). Leah talks about the Danny Masterson case and why we didn't air the initial episode we shot. She also discusses the Me Too movement and scientology, the STAND League, scientology tax exempt status and much more. Give it a read. … [Read more...]
What’s Up With Scientology TV?
STAND League makes a big deal out of the "ratings" of The Aftermath and A&E. Still at it more than a year after the last episode aired. This is one of their recent headlines, exhorting Disney to "pull the plug" on A&E. The hypocrites at STAND proclaim "the audience has spoken and they reject hate speech"... Actually, the audience spoke and made The Aftermath the biggest hit A&E had when we were airing -- though Live PD had higher audience numbers, The Aftermath was their "prestige" show. Emmy nominations across 4 years for 3 seasons and numerous other awards … [Read more...]
Scientology and The Aftermath Emmy Nomination
The Emmy nominations were announced this morning. This came as a pleasant, but total surprise. Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath has been nominated each year it aired -- 4 times in all as the 3 seasons spanned 4 years of eligibility. That is a pretty remarkable record, and we thank and congratulate IPC, A&E and our crew for their dedication, courage and professionalism. And to the Television Academy for their support. But most of all we recognize the brave contributors who bared their souls and stories in the face of scientology's reputation for conducting Fair Game … [Read more...]
