Tonight at 9pm A&E airs the final 2 hour episode of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. I hope you can tune in, or at least record the show for later watching. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the episode was only finalized last week. A&E could not promote it or schedule a final time slot until the episode was in its final form and signed off by the powers that be. It was a difficult process that in the end, Leah and I had little to do with. A&E wanted it to air while the voting period for the Emmy's is still open (which ends on August 29) and … [Read more...]
Aftermath Announcement
In June we shot our series finale of The Aftermath, which will air in the next couple of weeks. A&E will announce the date soon. It will be our last show on A&E. When we began this journey, we did not anticipate more than a single season. But the response was so overwhelming and we felt strongly that the people who stepped forward deserved to be heard. We were not previously aware of some of the abuses that came to light, and we felt they compelled further episodes. And of course, Scientology’s response to the series played a role too. Scientology is a formidable opponent with … [Read more...]
Sailing into the Sunset
The Annual "Maiden Voyage" celebration aboard the Freewinds was as underwhelming as it was overhyped. I have finally found a few minutes to review the International Scientology News edition reporting on the "week of events"... A few things of note. Of course, the feature of the magazine was Captain Miscavige, Chairman of the Bored, Ecclesiastical Leader of the Scientology Religion for Tax Purposes Only and leading candidate for the role of Uncle Martin in the Netflix remake of My Favorite Martian... He still proudly (and cynically) wears his "wedding band" so nobody asks him … [Read more...]
A New Golden Age for Clearwater?
Our friend Mark Bunker is in the news again. But this time it isn’t about what scientology is doing to Fair Game him. Some of you may have seen the announcement that Wise Beard Man intends to run for a seat on the Clearwater City Commission. It was reported in the Tampa Bay Times yesterday. Clearwater, Bunker said, has “got a unique problem here in Scientology. And I think the city ought to balance it out with a unique council member who understands Scientology.” Mark has a long history in Clearwater and with scientology. We discussed some of this in 2 episodes of Scie … [Read more...]
No Irony Here
Take Scientology's advice -- watch The Aftermath and see what is REALLY going on in scientology. Don’t listen to the propaganda spewed by scientology in the media or on their websites. Watch those who personally experienced scientology up close and personal. It is so appropriate they say this because it captures exactly what has happened to scientology — their PR has taken a fatal hit they will never recover from because people have been able to see the truth. Such irony, but lacking any ability to introspect or confront the reality before their very eyes, they continue to m … [Read more...]
Panic Stations – STAAD Flailing Again
Its pretty easy to tell what gets under the very thin skin of David Miscavige. His (violent?) outbursts of frustration are evident in the statements that emanate from the STAAD League. While Miscavige has poured tens of millions into the failed scientologyTV network and shouts loudly about winning “Telly” awards (something nobody has ever heard of and a quick glance shows they hand out hundreds of them for online ads and infomercials), he becomes apoplectic when real awards are presented to Leah Remini and The Aftermath. Funny how scientology always accuses others of doing what they do … [Read more...]
Scientology Hypocrisy Knows No Bounds
Scientology is shameless. And here is the latest proof. A new article in "Freedom" magazine they are pushing on Twitter. More evidence they do EXACTLY what they accuse others of doing, without the slightest embarrassment. This is sociopathic behavior. Freedom attacks the President of A&E Studios because scientology has been unable to arrange a meeting with him. "the Church’s attempts to seek a meeting with A&E since March of that year, met with not so much as an answer nor was there a means of having “a meaningful conversation..."" Funny -- we have TRIED for 3 years to get … [Read more...]
Neuroplasticity
This mini ebook was sent in by a supporter of the Aftermath Foundation accompanied by the following thoughts. It contains some thought-provoking ideas that are anathema to anyone who subscribes to the principles expounded by L. Ron Hubbard. But there are a lot of things in this world that help people that he derided. Perhaps you will find something that provides some relief/assistance to you in these ideas. They are certainly offered with the best intentions. I am a Certified Neurosculpting Facilitator at the Neurosculpting Institute in Denver, and I have something for you. I t … [Read more...]
Thursday Tragedy
It seems inappropriate to run the Thursday Funnies this morning in light of the events at the Inglewood Ideal org last evening. Tony Ortega, as he always does, is keeping up with the story and you can follow the news at his blog. He does a great job of sorting the bs from the real facts. Someone being killed, wherever it occurs, is horrendous and tragic. The circumstances of this death remain unclear, and somewhat mysterious. Either the person who was shot by police is someone who had contact with scientology and was upset about something they had done or were doing, or the person had … [Read more...]
The (Not Tom) Cruise Debrief and An Announcement
My apologies for being remiss. A few have asked how the vacation was as I made no mention of it here... It was amazing. I have waited to post this until we were ready with a special announcement. It's at the end of this short report on the cruise. We all had such a good time. A cruise is an excuse to eat and drink too much. Check. Do silly things -- like build a device to drop a raw egg 8 stories to the ship's atrium floor without it breaking -- we did! Visit interesting locations. Check. Do things we had never done before. Check. Spend time with friends (adults together while the 8 … [Read more...]
