This might seem like a foolish question -- but not when it come to L. Ron Hubbard. He apparently needs a whole lot of homes and even more offices... It is one of the lesser-known bizarre facts about scientology and the worship of L. Ron Hubbard that subsequent to his death (or in the words of David Miscavige he "discarded the body... he had used to facilitate his existence in this MEST universe," because it "had ceased to be useful and in fact had become an impediment to the work he now must do outside of its confines”), many fully furnished mansions and lavish homes were co … [Read more...]
Even More on Ventura
Someone sent me a link to this Facebook group I grew up in Ventura California and a posting there about scientology coming to town. This group has 22,000 members. It was a pretty innocuous thing about the brightness of the sign on the building. As of now it has over 450 comments. Though I have not carefully read every comment, I can say with a high degree of certainty that there are virtually no positive comments about scientology. And yet, their PR line is that the demand for scientology is so great, and they are expanding so rapidly, that to meet the demand, they have … [Read more...]
More on Ventura
A tidal wave of Shermanspeak engulfed Ventura county as scientology's Dear Leader yanked his ribbon in front of his latest real estate investment in an industrial area next to a freeway. The screaming headline at scientology.org is typical: SCIENTOLOGY IDEAL ORG RISES LIKE A LEGENDARY KING WAVE IN VENTURA’S SURF CITY And it goes downhill from there. This is a "Seaside" Grand Opening that marks a milestone for Scientology’s spectacular growth across the Golden State. Growth?? Where? Every org is struggling and there are less missions than ever... The smarmy surfing language continues: R … [Read more...]
California is All Ideal
The great ribbon yanking ceremony was held at the Ventura industrial facility yesterday, and they came from all over the United States to witness the wonder of Dear Leader spouting Shermanspeak. A special correspondent was there to get some shots -- though of course, scientology had done their best to keep the prying eyes of wogs and malcontents from getting anywhere close to the "festivities". Our correspondent reports they had blocked off the road where the Org is. Security was across the freeway and all along the road attempting to prevent those damned public from seeing what was … [Read more...]
Ideal Org Fails
The scientology hype machine is rolling along, trying to keep the sheeple convinced that handing over money for "ideal orgs" is going to change the world. Austin is one of the few orgs NOT required to get a new building -- like Toronto. It is directly across the street from the University of Texas and has been for decades. Scientology-think leads them to believe that this is a ready-made audience. 40,000 bright, young, inquisitive "raw meat" literally RIGHT THERE. They never seem to mention that this org has been small and failing forever. That they cannot persuade anyone to come in … [Read more...]
Scientology Still on My Mind
Our old friend Terra Cognita is back with more insight. Sadly, I imagine many readers here can relate to these observations. I stopped writing regularly about Scientology after I’d said everything I thought I needed to say. I’d climbed out of the rabbit hole. Exorcised my demons. Laughed at the hypocrisy. And finally capped my pen when I felt it was time to move on. And yet, I still think about Scientology. Not as frequently as during the first couple of years after I’d left, but I still have occasional conversations in my mind with those I left behind—with those still trapped inside the b … [Read more...]
Nancy Cartwright: Scientology Fundraiser
Nancy Cartwright has long been a prominent "fundraiser" for scientology ideal orgs. Not that she hasn't given plenty of money herself. She was the single reason Valley Org was able to buy and renovate that monstrosity on Burbank Blvd that sits empty as a weekend flea market on Wednesday (every day of the week). For a long time they didn't mention her name at all. Then she was known as "Our Royal Guv, Princess Warrior and official Valley Rockstar Goddess" and various other equally insane "titles." Eventually she just started appearing as Nancy Cartwright, fundraising pitch woman for Ideal … [Read more...]
Not Santa Barbara Ideal Org
The new "ideal org" that is no longer in Santa Barbara (they'll just have to without an org now) has the welcoming appeal of the Death Star or Tower of Mordor. A couple of our faithful readers recently drove by to check it out. Right alongside the freeway in Ventura, it is hardly an "ideal" location (the current org is right in downtown Santa Barbara). This is the only property that adjoins the "ideal org" -- bustling with people 24/7 it is a warm and inviting look. But, to make up for this terrible location, they are going to … [Read more...]
