In typical scientology fashion, the WTH IC Los Angeles Org is offering "free" WTH booklets as part of trying to ingratiate themselves with this community. Of course, NOTHING is free in scientology, and this is a perfect opportunity to raise some more money! Though 200 booklets printed on their internal printing press would cost them a few dollars (just the cost of the paper itself) they are demanding that the full price of a $1 per booklet be "donated" so they can give these things away. They don't mention the fact that WTH will make a handsome profit on this - like 90 cents for … [Read more...]
“Children’s” Dumbed Down Way to Happiness
You have to wonder "Why?" The Way to Happiness is about as simplistically written as anything could be. It's been dumbed down ever dumber to attract the under 6 year olds? And it has "colorful cartoons" drawn by the same person who draws the anti-psych cartoons for CCHR it seems... So, I tried to go to the website listed on the promo piece and the address does not exist. I check on Amazon and another children's book called Making Good Choices is all that shows up: I did eventually find this version. I checked a few pages. They HAVE dumbed it down, though the concepts are … [Read more...]
STAND is Recruiting And They Tell The Truth
...or at least they are trying to according to Michael Lewis (who seems to be everywhere -- giving seminars on how to conduct life etc etc, perhaps this is a really long amends project following the massive bad PR his son generated). It's interesting to see the admission that Ed Parkin is his "boss"... The facade that STAND is a group of "like-minded individuals" who happen to share a common goal to eradicate religious persecution is of course a sham. This is in fact an OSA front group run by an OSA Int staff member, Ed Parkin, which has a select group of people who take orders from OSA to … [Read more...]
“Men of Goodwill” — like Tony Muhammad?
Here are some words of wisdom from "HAPI" (the oddly inappropriate acronym for the always small and failing lone scientology outpost in Scotland). The pitch about "men of goodwill" is taken straight from the Way to Happiness. Of course, scientologists believe they are the epitome of "men of goodwill" as everything they do, including taking people's money and breaking up families, is for the good of mankind. But this promotional piece is worthy of note for what comes AFTER the helpful advice from Ron. The example they chose of a "man of goodwill." Tony Muhammad... Apparently this … [Read more...]
Spreading the Calming Influence
This is a photo taken last night of the New York "ideal org." While it is understandable in light of the nightly rioting in many US cities, including New York, it highlights a point that I often make here. Scientology routinely makes grandiose claims of their accomplishments that are disproven by the reality of the world around them. In this case, it's their own front door. They say Way to Happiness is bringing peace and calm to neighborhoods, societies and nations. You just need to get it into the hands of the people and they suddenly realize the errors of their ways and peace is … [Read more...]
“No Reging”
This is a bit old. I had overlooked it and then noticed "No Reging"[sic]. This is a very interesting development. John Alex Wood is still alive and kicking? Who knew? But more importantly, I think this is an indicator the pandemic is going to have a significant long-term effect on scientology. Not only because people are not coming in and paying for services right now and are instead hiding out at home doing a $20 Extension Course, sending in a chapter every few weeks. But because this break is changing the mindset of the sheeple. It's like someone who has had a headache every d … [Read more...]
The Metrics: Global BS
This is a recent tweet from Freedom magazine. The level of bald-faced lies is breathtaking. 1.5 million volunteers? Where? I can only assume they now count everyone in the Red Cross wordlwide because a Volunteer Minister in Manila had a photo taken with the local Red Cross coordinator. Scientology could hardly scrape together 1.5 million BT's if they rounded up their 6500 OT's and had them pool their resources. This is simply absurd. And apparently they say it with a straight face. Seeing this, I just had to click on their link to "get the story." So, here is their … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
On the road again... Mystery ailments and a mystery cure. Who said scientology doesn't cure physical conditions? She can drive again! This quote is not about joining staff... Typical, they can't even get their quotes from Ron right Talking Half-Heads? What happened here? Another young life wasted... But she was an employee of Grant Cardone, so it's not a whole lot different. She just won't have as much free time or money. This is all they could muster? A CLO, an AOSH and an Ideal Org and the best shots they … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
One of these 3 didn't get the message Arms folded is the only way to go. All of them missed the memo about not smiling. Narconon not flourishing They are disappearing from the face of the earth.... We finally made 2 Clears We have to tell the world with a special promotional item because it's such a rare thing... Like really rare... So we made ANOTHER poster for the same person. The St Lucia Sickle Cell Association hasn't done their homework... Or they are just really hard up for a place to show a … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Decade
Dan Sherman conjured up a verbal orgasm of gushing babble to hype the sheeple at the scientology New Year's Celebration. No need to attend the event, you can read all about it at scientology.org in 10 minutes and spare yourself the pain of "Standing O" calisthenics every time Dear Leader actually completes a run-on sentence. At the outset, let's remember that the "turn of the decade/century" event in 1999 was held at the LA Sports Arena -- a FAR larger venue than the Shrine Auditorium. Given the unprecedented, massive, straight up and vertical expansion they claim to have … [Read more...]
