Smoke and Mirrors
Putting together some backlogged material that has been sent in over the past couple of weeks. There has been so much news and so many things happening that some of these are a bit stale, but nevertheless, worth noting.
This “Ideal Org” program is such an abject disaster it is difficult to overstate the magnitude of the fail.
So, here are a few examples to highlight the fact that Pinocchio Pouw’s statements that everyone is missing the “real story” of Scientology with “37 new churches opened in the last few years” is in fact TRUE. The real story IS that 37 buildings have been opened (or re-opened, some more than once) and that it is a smoke screen intended to mislead people that the church of Scientology is expanding under the brilliant leadership of David Miscavige.
So, in no particular order:
Compliance Report — DK Org Restarting Renos
This is the THIRD time they have “started” renovations on a building PURCHASED IN 2004. And they promoted to the public to show up so they could video them to send in a “compliance report” for restarting the renovations. Not only is this proof that the church is NOT expanding in the European headquarters of Scientology, it is evidence of the failure of this program. For some reason Miscavige plowed ahead with a ridiculous building in an industrial estate in Malmo, over the bridge in Sweden. Traditionally a small and failing org, which is now smaller and failinger, the resources were invested in Malmo and not Copenhagen (or Stockholm). Why? What does it matter? The only criteria is if it can be video’d and shown at an event? That would be like opening another “Ideal Org” in Pretoria just miles away from Joburg while leaving an empty “ideal” building in Capetown (the other major city in South Africa) for a decade. Oh. they did that too…. Or opening an “Ideal Org” in Cambridge Canada (????) while the Toronto Continental Org that was purchased more than 30 years ago remains a disgusting unrenovated wreck. Yep, did that too. There are numerous examples that prove this “strategy” is ONLY an elaborate charade intended to create the false image of expansion. It doesn’t matter if these “new churches” are important or if they are occupied, just as long as there are videos and photos of the nice buildings and furniture.
Boston Lost The Plot
Toronto Should Take Its Own Advice
The CO CLO Canada should listen to himself. He is going to give a lecture on “the line between success and failure and what raises the dough and find out what makes or breaks a fundraising campaign…” After more than 30 years of failing to renovate the Toronto building I would not think anyone should be presuming to lecture on this subject. This is the “massive expansion” under the brilliant leadership of David Miscavige “following the footsteps of Founder L. Ron Hubbard….”
The only thing that seems real about this piece is the location of the event — “Pie In The Sky”. They apparently don’t even notice the irony of that.
Mountain View “Silicon Valley iDeal Org” Enough Already
This one overwhelmed me. I resorted to asking people to stop sending me their nonsense at it was a stream of new “promo pieces” every single day. Those who sent them to me made clear they were not even forwarding everything, and that the volume of calls and emails is just ridiculously over the top.
Somehow, this org is now calling itself the “Silicon Valley iDeal Org” — I guess they grabbed the idea first and Los Gatos and Stevens Creek don’t count. Those two empty “Ideal Orgs” ***
Just a TINY sample of some of the steady stream of crap that has been sent out:
That is really a high ARC shot to accompany the quote….
Another demonstration of high ARC….
Seems like it is becoming common for these orgs that just cannot make it (Valley, San Diego) to have the SAME names. Baybacks and Feshbachs — even the Stevens Creek Org.
At least the Silbers aren’t hypocrites. But the self-promotion is a little weird…
Doesnt it seem a LITTLE odd to have a photo of the original “Ideal Org” ribbon pulling on this promo?
Damning with faint praise.
Incredible that Sally Jensen is pitching to the “Mountain View OTs” with proof that it is all worth it — a “glowing” success from a Scientologist on a Life Improvement Course that has sent two employees to Pasadena Org. Believe me, if there were ACTUAL PRODUCTS and stats to prove it they WOULD BE BEING SHOUTED FROM THE ROOFTOPS. IF Pasadena had made 500 Clears since becoming an “Ideal Org” or made 100 Class V auditors or had gotten 1000 new public through the Dianetics Intro Route it would be on every piece of promo. People are NOT giving tens or hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to get a single Scientologist to take a Life Improvement Course (and if I was a gambling man I would guess that “success” was written by someone who gave money to the Pasadena Ideal Org fundraising effort).
In fact, we know how desperate Pasadena is, check out the email sent out by ED (Rona Bowles’) husband, the Scientology lawyer and IAS “Freedom Medal Winner” Tim Bowles. He is up early, his creative juices flowing trying to get people to show up to the empty “Ideal Org”:

Speaking of Empty Ideal Orgs
Update:
Anette Iren Johansen just sent me photos she and Geir took of the Phoenix Org parking lot in the middle of the day in June (a local Scientologist there reported there were 3 staff left in the org….). Mark Fisher commented on Facebook that the local TV camera crew going to the Las Vegas Ideal Org to try and get a response about the PR Dir charged with planning to torture and kill a police officer showed 8 cars total in the parking lot. I noted that perhaps we could have a gallery of photos of empty parking lots to accompany the photos of the empty interior glamour shots the church gives the media.

Mike, just so you know. You could have posted FORTY of these promo pieces and it would have been fine with me. Actually, the promo stuff is among my favorites of all the things you and Tony post. It gives me a picture of where these folks are at as far as what they think the public’s buttons are. Also some of them are just so FREAKING bizarre (like the Boston space quote, the Toronto “will go down in HISTORY” and the DK completing the target to re-start …) So keep the promo pieces coming if you like. I love them. And I like seeing the names too. I go back a long way, recognized Ralph Crisione’s name on the MV one, met him back in 1973 and Kurt Feschbach? Heck, did an internship with him back in 1975 or so.
Jewel says
Joe,
Yes, I like the ads too. They say a lot.
RE: Ralph Crisione , I remember that he was very very gay back in the day. I know that I was curious about how that could be since all the Scientology information pointed to being gay as an engramic compulsion. I didn’t care if he was or wasn’t on one level, but according to the ‘tech’ he was a walking contradiction as he was done with 7. There were others as well that I knew who were 7’s. At the time I just thought, ‘well, that is how he desires to be’ as I considered it was purely his choice. Auditor David Lenard who was done with 7 was also gay and kept it hidden which is why he married Le Claire. They had a baby, then they got divorced. He moved away, but continued to go out with guys. I know the church policy, at least in practice, was to tell gay folk to not participate while getting auditing, but I have never seen an LRH policy or HCOB on it directly. Do you know of one?
My nephew, who is gay, was told that he was engaging in ‘deviant behavior’ and he couldn’t participate in the 2d while doing the purify. He was shown the tone scale and was told It was in the 1.1 band. What an eval! What a joke! Telling people not to do what is natural is ridiculous, especially on the purif! He could have banged his way all the way through the purif and it wouldn’t have made ANY difference in the outcome of his purif. This really irritated me. The church shouldn’t dictate what is or isn’t an overt. If a person is gay and this is their 2d, then so be it. It won’t inhibit or otherwise interfere with their auditing because it is how they normally operate. I would like to know at what point the church decided to make it ‘illegal’ to have gay sex. How could anyone get audited if they had to comply with that? If they violated it, then it would be a withhold and they would get further sec checked and would have to go to ethics for being ‘out ethics’ as a pc and then get nowhere. I don’t know how one aberration is better or worse than another unless someone is a pedifile or a serial killer, there are plenty of case manifestations to go around and dramatize. Do we label people according to their case manifestations? Geeze. What a nightmare. Anyway, I am wondering if back in the day the gay people were just allowed to be gay, or if they were told not to have sex. II think that second dynamic case can be huge, but I still don’t know that scientology auditing ‘handles’ people on this subject. I’m not totally convinced if it all something the thetan brought with it, or if the ge and biology of the body may not be rigged that way thus influencing the mind of the being. I’m wondering if Ralph ever changed. Any data on any of the above?

“Move up to your next status” ??????????? BARF! Vomit! What ever happened to move up to your next bridge action?
Isn’t, “Concerned about your reputation?” an auditing question?
Can you imagine Hubbard watching all of this? Miscavige has lost his mind, his honor, his dignity, his compassion, his ethics presence, his credibility, his family, his wife, his friends, his best staff and has become a full blown liability to every Scientologist on the planet. He is poverty stricken. He needs life repair.
Steve Poore says
We don’t know for sure, but he also may have lost his “best friend”, Tom “3rd biggest bean” Cruise. Anyway, he Sure Is Quite!
DollarMorgue says

Mike, watching these former “scientologists” (now miscavologists) in action, is akin to having expectations
of seeing something actually happen with them, (like waking up, for example) You know, like with a faulty machine. (same thing, hey?) You put in a coin – nothing happens! You put in another – same again! Then in a last ditch frustration, kick the frigg’n thing and walk away. ( ….the penny just NEVER drops … for them… either! )

It’s getting louder and all the same theme, an escalated sliding down into some other reality (His) is happening. And one by one the good guys WILL leave.
Now if I could sit down with a few loved ones (I’d like to leave sooner) and M9 all that Mike…. You have made it all so real and so easy for anyone (who is in present time) looking to see. Thank you for your time.
I drove by Mission of Sunland [CA] today – Sunday 4p. It was closed. Sign says M-F 7-9:30p, Saturday 10:30a to 5p. Dang, I really wanted a fresh personality and IQ test to see how I’ve done over the last few years … you know since my ’04 not clear R-factor, 87.5 hours of interrogation for my crimes I paid for (I don’t believe I did that!) that are now being used to show my X and children so they can finally figure out I’m an SP and solve all their problems in life.

Well, you know I would like them all to be empty. But in terms of expansion of space some of them are fairly impressive. Mexico City, Washington DC, Twin Cities to name a couple. I don’t know if the new AO in Joburg counts, but I think it’s bigger than the castle at SH, and I don’t think it will cost much to renovate. They just have to add some gold crosses. The assumption that a large building will attract a lot of people is a bad one.

What happened to the day, when anyone who did things for status only was considered a jerk, a tool, someone without a moral compass? Every promo I’ve seen in ages is “up your status”, just giving money to be on the vapid list. Becoming more at cause and ethical across the dynamics is a long, lost memory. This relentless greed and money grubbing is absolutely disgusting and the furthest thing from what Scn is supposed to be doing. These people are in a state of confusion. This has NOTHING to do with as-isness.

Mike thanks for the compilation and presentation of this data. The OUTPOINTS are many: Missing Public is the most evident.
But big buildings and personal promotions of “big contributors” somehow look more important to Scientologists these days.
What’s more harmful though is that Scientology loses its meaning and its vigor to becoming another State-approved Church.

In my opinion, COB Dirty McNasty doesn’t actually want real expansion; he just wants people to buy the BS while they keep writing checks. First of all, he has no clue how to flourish and prosper by delivering needed and wanted services. That just doesn’t work for him, never has. Second, he certainly doesn’t want large numbers of people getting stronger, more able and more aware. The very idea of that gives him the willies. What he does understand is how to accumulate real estate and other MEST, especially if it’s somebody else’s money at stake. That’s an activity where he just can’t lose, or so he thinks.
So the end game, in his mind, is when the last staff member walks out and turns off the lights, he now has an empty building he can sell or rent, to bring in some income without having to bother with those pesky preclears and all of their “needs”. It looks to me like his plan is working, although probably not fast enough to suit the little tyrant. That’s why he keeps issuing these foot-bullets while muttering to himself “When are these stupid bastards going to cognite, and then get the hell out of my buildings?”..

Hallie Jane says
LOL!
Espiritu says
Easy there, War Horse. I think I can help you out here. ….I hope.
It takes some very patient parsing of the words.
Let’s take it step by step. Stay with me, OK.
OK, first of all they “have a target”. The word “target” is the direct object of the verb “have”.
Next is the phrase “to restart the renovations”. It is a infinitive phrase acting as an adjective and describes what kind of target they have.
Put the two together and it says that “they have a target to restart the renovations”. So far, this means that they had started the renovations at some time in the past, then stopped, and now intend to restart the renovations. The new target is: “to restart the renovations”. That’s simple, right? Follow me so far?
OK, now it gets tricky. The next phrase is the participial phrase, “being completed”. This phrase, like the phrase “to restart renovations” is also used as an adjective which modifies the word “target”.
It tells what the condition of the target supposedly is and describes it as “being completed”.
…..OR, to make a long story short, they want to “prove” to Miscavige and the world that they have picked up the ball on this long incomplete cycle by having a bunch of people get photographed in front of a banner pretending to do so. I doubt that there will be much painting, hammering, or “renovating” going on that Saturday. And if there is it will stop when the cameras disappear.
SHORT EXPLANATION:
The email could as easily have said, “HELP US TELL PR LIES”. (sign your name to the banner, or else.)

Tim Bowles’ note is interesting:
“Yet, with the Basics, ours is the upward spiral, a bootstraps creation to the New Civilization … OK, slap me in the face, enough of that!”
It’s always hard, without knowing someone, to be sure exactly what attitude he means to project, but this reads (for me) like he’s just going through the motions, pestering people whom he KNOWS have already been pestered mercilessly, and trying to keep it as short and painless as possible. Like he promised his wife he’d write a letter, so here it is, now hit SEND and pour another cup of coffee. Which makes Tim the sanest of the lot here. One could even be moved to sympathize. I wonder if your tipster feels that way.

Mike, speaking of taking it the next level, how’s your website traffic these days?
Valerie says
Hmmm, it appears that Scn has been falsifying their website traffic. 2.6% of their visitors are from India, so they are paying to have their site visited just like Kirstie pays for twitter followers. So sad. Mike ranks at 123,706 worldwide (up over 114,000 from last week) Scn ranks above him at 111,638, (down about 3,000 from last week), but with over 71% of Mike’s traffic coming from the US, he beats Scn 26,536 to 38,446 in the US. BTW Tony is at 66,520 worldwide and 11,528 in US. Yeah pretty mainstream. Sunderland like the people at the fringe of the Internet in this equation would be hmmmmmm oh yeah Scientology.org.
Valerie says
DYAC. I said sounds like and it corrected it to Sunderland.
Sounds like the people at the fringe at the Internet are Scientology.
Cece says
Funny V 🙂
Jewel says
Valerie,
How do people like Kirstie or organizations like the church pay people to visit their sights? I am ignorant about this. Doesn’t advertising for clients make them look bad? Are there organizations who ‘manage’ your websites or accounts by having people blog or whatever as a job? How much do these people get paid? Is this common practice? This is curious to me.
Valerie says
Unfortunately, yes, Here is a link to a news article from earlier this month about how it’s done. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/aug/02/click-farms-appearance-online-popularity
When Leah left and Kirstie started attacking her, her Twitter following dropped dramatically. People started commenting on it. The comments, much like Heber, Shelly, etc. we’re disappeared, but overnight, Kirstie “gained” over 200,000 followers on Twitter.
They are paid to follow her and post generic comments like replies to her when she says “goodnight.”
Jewel says
Valerie,
thanks for the enlightenment. I read the article.
Valerie says
Yep they are definitely click farming. As of today, 4.2% of their traffic comes from India, 0% for Tony or Mike. Well at least he has a stat that is going up – lies told on the Internet.

I ‘unsubscribed from the Africa Ideal Org program because they would send me numerous promo emails EVERYDAY!! Some times 6 a day, begging for donations.
Last week I received an email asking if I would reconsider my unsubscribe request as they can put me on a list which would only receive two mails a week.
In my response I said that two begging mails a week is still two Too many!
I can smell desperation!

One of my blog’s readers asked Orange County Org if they would just put up a website with all the news (a blog) and let him subscribe to a once-a-day pointer to the updates, instead of sending him 10 e-mails a day. (http://possiblyhelpfuladvice.com/?p=7867) He got no response. And they certainly didn’t change their operating basis. My advice to him was to mark everything SPAM. Not only would the SPAM disappear from his inbox, but it would notify ISPs to not deliver it in the first place. To him and everyone else in their customer base receiving the crap.

Yes Jips, Same for me, except now out over 20 years and declared myself an Indie, so I no longer need any form of anon. identity. Well, you could be right about the ED post. It’s all meaningless to me these days, since I just use straight LRH source material for any problem solving data required. As I hinted, the small Org (morgue) seems to be limping along on crutches, by the sheer determination of a tiny handful of remaining kool-aid drinkers. Pitiful state indeed, when one is ORDERED by the supreme Rula, NOT to look at the internet, or watch the news, or read the blogs, etc. ” Keep the blinkers on, or you will lose your eternity ” -yeah, right!
plainoldthetan says
This is fine verification that the Ideal Org Scheme is a pointless, unproductive activity.
Ideal-Orgging is just as valid as using LRH Admin Tech to boom a company, as Sally Jensen will attest if pressed: Craig Jensen is no longer at the helm of Executive Software…er….Diskeeper Corporation…er…Condusiv Technologies, and that company no longer runs on LRH Admin Tech, and its executive strata is not overbloated with ignernt and unproductive “OTs”. The company is doing much better and the employees are treated better and paid better now that the company isn’t a printing press for money to be sent to Flag and the IAS. Condusiv also decided >gaspdouble gasp< the stupid decisions coming out of the executive strata ceased. From what I can tell, that happened because the executives no longer try to run the company by "glowing things right".
I'm really hoping that the Silicon Valley Idle Org doesn't suck successful businessmen and executives into "doing things the Scientology way" and thus losing their best engineers and companies and livelihoods.
Oh, yeah, the guys I know at Condusiv who were there in the bad old days tell me that the "Thursday before two" engram is gone.
Starman8 says
POT, thanks for bringing that up. Just recently (again) I was re-iterating to my wife regarding the (im)practicality of using ‘church’ admin tech to run a business (professional practice). It never seemed to make sense back in 1988 after Sterling sold me the OECs how church admin tech was the best thing in the world to boom a business. Of course looking at the ideal orgs, maybe they would be better off at least following some of what LRH set out for churches since the ideal org strategy is absolutely awful.
statpush says
One thing to keep in mind – empty parking lots and empty buildings are simply visible indicators of a failing group. The demise of Scn is not the Ideal Org strategy (though it is certainly accelerating it). The underlying reason is NO RESULTS.
Honestly, if these orgs produced a product that was needed and wanted by the general public AND was affordable, the place would be packed. The winning public would not be gushing about the fancy MEST, they simply wouldn’t care. Their wins and gains would be the only thing worth talking about.
This is what happens when a group abandons its theta goal and surrenders to MEST.
They are being eaten alive.

I used to tour to the MV org back in 2002. Their academy stats were on a danger trend for years. They had a DB for a supervisor and no one was prepared to do anything about it. It was one of those “Everyone Knows” scenarios.
I remember watching an event where they opened the new building and there were thousands of public supposedly streaming into the org. It was one of those moments where as an SO member you start to question the lies that are told the public. You either agree with them or not. Once you agree your integrity goes out and its downhill from there.
I noticed something today. My wife still gets Flag promo and she hasnt gotten one letter from a letter reg in years. All that comes is promo. ARC? Dead!

According to data given to me about three years ago, about five years ago, Boston org called in a few select public and told them that they were now responsible to complete the fundraising for the Ideal org, and basically they were put in a room to do that with the idea that no one would leave until it was done. They stayed all night and into the next day and arranged enough donations to complete the fundraising target they were given, then were told they had completed the fundraising. At least one of the participants was very unhappy to later be pressured to attend and endless stream of additional fundraising “events” to complete the fundraising, which still isn’t complete. The Ideal Org strategy is not a strategy at all, but an ongoing concatenation of lies, scams, scams within scams, begging, pressure, intimidation, misuse of ethics and massive betrayal of trusts of all concerned, staff and public, all at the behest of their leaders service facsimiles from what I can see. He had a great idea, so it even if it is not great and does not work, is massively destructive and reduces people into groups of beggars and human ATMs, damn it, it is going to be done, because it was his idea and he considers himself great, so his idea is great and will be done over dead bodies no matter what.

Yes, your last few sentences are a pretty accurate summation of it all.

No matter how long I have been out of Scientology, it amazes me to see the same names over and over supporting it. I got my start at Mountain View Org, ended up at Stevens Creek Org and left Scientology through Los Gatos Org. I worked for the Feshbachs while Kannan and Kurt were dating. I remember when Matt came back from the first Super Power. I remember thinking “is he going to sparkle like a god?” LOL – makes me laugh now.
I remember when Jan Silber bought her first Mercedez. She was OT8 already.
David Morse was my first class instructor and helped me get through the TRs.
I know random thoughts but seeing all the names in the promo brings me back to the late 80s as if it was yesterday. It also strikes me as sad that these same people continue to put all their money into the Orgs there. If it wasn’t for those same people, I seriously wonder if those orgs would be surviving at all?
When I was really involved with the Feshbachs, we would go to Joe and Cindy’s house to watch events in their theatre room. Walking up to their huge home and seeing all the Series 7 BMWs in their driveway, made me want to be them. It’s akin to being on drugs. When you are in a drug haze, your view of the world is very small and very focused. Being involved with the Feshbachs was just like that. You felt like you were in a different place, a different world.
They need the orgs to survive in order for their strange world to continue to exist. If those orgs fail, their god like status fails.

Scientology is a country club. But you can’t be on top unless you have someone to be on top of.
Conditioner says
You know Dollar, that’s the best description I’ve ever heard! It truly IS a country club with all the snobbery, donation status, who you are, who you know and eat with (Flag) and the social intimation.
I come from an era that your only status was your auditor cert and hours in the chair. That was decades ago. Those were the GOOD ol’ days.
DollarMorgue says
I guess that was when org production was measured by auditors made and pcs winning, not parishioners bilked and dollars extorted.
Silvia says
Status, donations again and again…their only trademark and promo, too solid and definitely lacks adventure, joy, discoveries, fun…it has become just too solid, ain’t fun man.

The Malmo ideal org elevators are now “out of order” to save electricity.
Anette Iren says
The elevators have been out of order almost since the opening. They also keep course rooms in darkness to save electricity. They are empty anyway. Last time I was there was 1.5 years ago. I saw 3 people in the Academy. It was empty of publics. Only staff present.
calvin b. duffield says
Anette, very sad indeed! Especially that — “The elevators” no longer go to “the top floor” with anyone who sets foot in such a place anymore!
Dan Koon says
If and when the Malmö (actually Arlöv) Org fails, DM can make a pretty penny by selling it to the marketing firm that works for SAAB or Volvo. The building looks like a fancy industrial headquarters, not a church where human beings go for spiritual improvement.
Cat daddy says
Saab has gone bankrupt a while ago. But I know what you are saying. Maybe DM want’s to get in the textile bussiness and use it to work his Sea Org to death because they provide him wich cheap labor.
Or rather extorts labor out of them for free.

Janet Reitman’s Inside Scientology says CoS disbanded the Cadet Org. Ex-members say it never went away. One thing is for sure: there are kids running around Flag in distinctive clothing with Sea Org members. First two clips filmed in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 22, 2012, last two clips filmed Friday morning, May 25, 2012 around 9 a.m.
Here is the breakdown of a typical week from an ex-Cadet Org member (with minor editing):
We’d wake up around 6:30 AM on Mondays through Fridays. We had exactly half an hour to clean up the room and a higher rank cadet, security guard or Atalia herself would check the rooms up before we could go to breakfast.
We had breakfast for a half an hour until 7:30 when we had to clean up. We’d get assigned places to clean. Some would get kitchen, dinning room, bathrooms, yard, pool cleaning, laundry cleaning, getting the courserooms ready, etc., then we had school from 8 AM till 11 AM. When we had break, we’d go up to the kitchen and snack something for free or otherwise had the canteen where we could buy a snack (all sugarless though, we could only have sugar from Friday night to Saturday night).
11:15 back to school until 13:00 for lunch, which was a half an hour as well, then we had clean up till 14:00, where we’d go into the cadet room (sort of like a empty carpeted enclosed place where we’d do drilling such as naval marching techniques and briefing, kind of like the training you see in army movies). At 14:30 the bus would come and pick us up to go to the base (that’s what we called the area of the FH, CB, Coachman, etc…) and do office work such as stuffing envelopes, organizing pay checks, working at the place where they print the policies (it’s called mimmio and it’s placed right up the street from the CB like a block and a half or so), etc.
In earlier days we were only allowed to go to the base on rare occasions. That’s why you read stories where cadets didn’t see their parents for weeks and even months. We’d get assigned worksheets for jobs at the QI [previous location of Cadet Org; no longer owned by CoS] like painting, cleaning warehouses, cleaning dorms, trimming plants, stuff like that, all gardening and maintainance work. The going to base part started around 2003.
We’d have dinner at 5PM with our parents at the base (this is as i said, applied since 2003, otherwise we’d have dinner at 7PM at the QI). We had school at night again from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. This was different school work because at night we only did Scientology studies, courses from delphi, true school, LRH courses, etc. Also SO courses like etiquete, grooming, cleaning, etc.
We’d then have half an our to get ready for bed and lights off at ten o’clock.
On Saturdays we had a similar arrangement as the normal SO staff, we’d have a day off every 2 weeks if we had our stats up, hopefully it was the same day as our parents libs day so we could spend the day with them (it almost never happened though). The kids that didn’t have the day off would stay at the QI, have assignments through out the day and on the afternoons they’d have to white-glove their rooms (meaning we had to clean from top to bottom and leave it so clean a white glove would be passed around and not get a single stain). Saturday night was movie night for the cadets that weren’t grounded for their stat-down, it was also hamburger and hot dog day, sugar day and video game day, it was sort of like a day a week of being almost a normal kid…
Sundays were no different from Saturdays except for the white glove part.
