They’re not very “OT”
They don’t seem to be at cause over time…
Seems to be an epidemic of un-OTness…
Open House for the Blog!
How nice of them to think of us…
How are we reaching the millions?
We are not. But Michael is going to show you some ads that he will tell you are “reaching millions” — except nobody pays any attention to them. So is that really “reaching” anyone?
He used to be a Class VIII
But credit where it’s due — at least this is not a “money” seminar.
The CO and I expect you to be there…
And I have to “let the applicable people know.”
Does he sound pathetic or what? This is the guy who delivers all their seminars (eventually)?
No wonder the Moneywinds is empty.
A lifetime of futility
60 years and they have accomplished nothing. Most people in Miami don’t even know they exist.
And what a great birthday present. Filing!
Combined ideal orgs graduation
They have so few completions that ONE graduation for 3 SO Orgs (that used to be 5 — LA D, LA Fdn, ASHO D, ASHO F and AOLA) fits in the AOLA Atrium… It is possible ASHO has NO graduates in any given week.
And here is the hype…
The huge strides will be evident if you just attend graduation. But because nobody does, they will hold this “special briefing”…
Yeah, well, we didn’t make it yet again….
But hip-hip-hooray, they finished the Dead Files AND the Deceased Files. Obviously the TOP priority to be done first.
Another cassette giveaway?
Hand them out to the OT Committee. At least they won’t throw them in the trash in the Ft Harrison – they would be sec checked if they did. We can count this on some stat and get rid of some of the enormous piles of dead bookstocks we have…
It will be epic, monumental and a timeless moment in whole track history no doubt
They just can’t get their act together to pick a date or a location, maybe the timeless is sort of stumping them?
“Helping Mankind Make It”
Seriously? This is what you really think? You are not even helping your local neighborhood accomplish anything.
Secrets to Financial Independence
Step 1. Stay away from scientology.
List One org? How come we never hear about that place “going ideal”?
They think this is what they are doing?
“After all, we’ll be running things one of these days.” Really?
Drew Tells Sort of All
He also does magic tricks with photoshop.
And yeah, this one DOES sound like it’s aimed at teaching you how to make money…
Suckering em in Hollywood edition
This is what is technically known in the industry as a “bait and switch”.
Suckering Part II
How long before we see one of these with “#1 chart topping songwriter and singer Joy Villa”?
Where is the IAS?
The WTH is begging for old cars, meanwhile the IAS tells everyone that it is “their support of the IAS that makes the 4th dynamic campaigns possible.”
What is wrong with this picture?
Tolerance?
One of those “do as I say, not as I do” quotes from LRH.
Free lunch
And even then it will be sparsely attended.
But be sure to wear your “business attire” as we have to look professional for the wogs.
Bring in the kids…
We love to get em when they’re young.
“The Big Aussie”
One of the few taking responsibility. A truly “big being” working on an extremely important (but apparently unnamed) 4th dynamic action (otherwise known as “we have to get our stats up and I want to make some commissions and a Big Being like me doing well is going to be helping all mankind”). Wish he would stop mentioning his heritage. It’s embarrassing.
Orange County getting excited
This ideal org is tearing it up with TWO completions. A redo of a Div 6 Intro Course…
…and a Purif (and I bet this is a redo too…)
We “bravely”(?) model our school to be the exact opposite…
Sounds like they are trying to appeal to Betsy DeVos?
Hope they cook better than they spell
Seems to be missing something here…
Those prison guards at Auschwitz seemed to have a high level of certainty about controlling people into the gas chambers. That was not “good control.”
Food, glorious food
Even these ads have gone to hell. Remember when they at least made an effort — showed “French Dip” for a “Parisian dinner” – now it seems they just grab any photos of food and randomly stick them on a poster.
It’s 2017
You don’t think you could have picked something better than a quote from 1958 boasting about how everyone can now be cleared — it is an “accomplished fact”? Except it was not. You know there were numerous other “accomplished methods of guaranteed Clearing” all the way up to the Clearing Course in 1966. And Dianetic Clear in 1978?
This IS the image they put in here
I did not photoshop that thing he is holding or pixilate his image
Yep, making the world sane
I wonder if they ever think about this sort of statement at all?
The big news of the week
Cambridge “ideal” org finally has an “official birthday game mascot”. I don’t think there could be anything more appropriate than a crazy chicken. And they seem to proud of it. Drew a crowd of 9 people – biggest they have had since going ideal.
The last promo featuring the Phoenix mascot actually makes me feel sad. When you think of the lofty goals and aims of Scientology, and then see this sort of childish stuff, it reflects on the condition of the culture within the group.
A desperate and pathetic attempt to be “uptone” and “cause” while looking ridiculous. Especially when you think of the ultimate goal of that meeting: Money.
Yes, and dig those “action shots” of people writing down how much money they’re going part with, as the chicken cheers them on. What fun.
What kind of “church” offers this stuff?
That low-res image seems to include a Commendation in German (“Belobigung”). Why?
I don’t really give a crap what happens within the cult. I know it rides the rails of bullshit. I no longer feel the need to post any comments about this disaster. But to see Tom Mendola advertised to give advice to actors is beyond the pale and made me spit up. He lists as his “credits” “Raging Bull”, Prizzi’s Honor”, Ft. Apache, the Bronx’ and others. I know the three films very well and immediately went to IMDB, to find out what character he played. He’s not listed even in the expanded cast list, not even as a ‘walk on”.. And to advertise himself “with Robert DiNero, Angelica Huston, and Paul Newman”. is the height nonsensical horseshit. This “come on” to unsuspecting actors is a metaphor for the entire cult. Deceitful promotion, then bait and switch and what one ends up if he or she is gullible to stay, is the “bridge to total deception”.
“Make it worthwhile to be on staff… after all we’ll be running things one of these days.” Why not take it a step further, join the SEAORG to exhaust yourself by implanting flowers, in a drought, under the hot sun, one by one, in a field for Tom Cruise and his bride to frolic in for a romantic minute or two. This outfit will be running things one of these days… yep, can’t wait for THAT day.
Spelling errors like that are what happens when you tear children out of school and put them to work at much too young an age. Their intellectual and moral growth have both been stunted by Scientology. My dad refused to send his kids to a Scientology school because he said all the kids that came out of them were stupid, and he wasn’t going to have stupid kids. How you can make a statement like that and still be a Scientologist, I have no idea.
Your dad was a VERY perceptive person!
That ‘Cambridge Phoenix’ looks like he’s koo koo for Coco Puffs. I think some Trademark enforcement in needed there. Now that the US dollar is worth 1.31 in Canada, more Buffalolonians will be heading to Cambridge to get their auditing. That is going cause a Buffalo stat crash that will cause more staff to get real jobs.
I have to wonder what calamity caused the Battle Creek Michigan mOrg to cancel its Freewinds visit. Perhaps the fact the the Fleewinds only plys the Caribbean and never enters US waters? Also, the Great Lakes are not open to commercial shipping yet. That thing is really hard to drag overland.
Drew Johnston is going to tell you “How you can rid your life of the things that keep you from having the life you want”, like all of your friends, your family, even your spouse. Didn’t someone once disconnect from someone’s dog?
I went past the Launceston Church of Scientology Mission (snort, snigger) a couple of days ago and saw on the window some signs for their “Homework Club”., They will no doubt be swamped and kids be lining up around the block every Sunday from 9 AM – 12 PM. The kiddies will be using “Learning How to Learn”, “How to use a Dictionary”, “The Technology of Study”, and “Study Skills for Life” by the visionary master teacher Large Con Hubris. Oh yes, it’s all FREE.
The books, CD’s, DVD’s and other assorted junk in the large bookshelf inside have been there for so long that all the colours, except blue, have been leeched out by the sunlight. They also seem to be doing some sort of repairs/maintenance and from what I saw will take the shop from awfully gloomy to just a little less gloomy with a hint of desperation.
I’ve been noticing lately a growing proportion of the notices seem to be becoming more and more vague. After doing some digging and, strangely enough, finding no mention of Tom Mendola (or his other aliases) in any of the films he supposedly worked on have come to the inescapable conclusion that he and the idiots at $camology are full of the stuff that comes out the rear end of cows (which is nothing new).
Perhaps a one liner, here or there, but unfortunately not making the final cut. 🙂 It was their sneaky way of putting in real stars names to make the reader think they somehow approve of scio. Yech!
Re: Gavin’s message to the OTVIIIs about being at the March 8th briefing about LRH’s birthday event…..what a condescending ass. Trouble is, that’s the expected “tone” you’re supposed to take when you have to get someone to do something. Ahhhh…$cientology is so charming. Makes you really want to hurry up and join!
Gavin Potter used to rip people off post when he was the PB&F CMO CW (that’s Preps Briefing and Firing Director Commodore’s Messenger Org Clearwater for those not in the know – the person who sends other Sea Org members on missions to “handle situations”).
Now he just rips people off.
Ah, Gavin Potter. Slappy Micavige’s kid brudder!
“Something Can Be Done About It” Open House. Mike, you should call that number to RSVP for this event named after your blog. It’s an “Open House”, so they have to let you attend……right?
Funny!
After the “Acting Class”…Is the refreshment Kool-Aid?
Oh, you betcha! Lots and lots of it…
Cherry or raspberry?
Just PR PR and PR..
while the corrupt church is PRing… we are actually making REAL OTs
I’m an OT 0, and I think I can help with these FSM dissemination questions.
– What is the first requisite when you tell people about Scientology?
Don’t tell them it is Scientology.
– Find out why you have trouble in telling people about Scientology.
Because they have already heard of it, and that is personally embarrassing to you.
– Learn the first approach to communicate Scientology to someone.
Ruffies.
I can help you make it to OT1, HGC. All you have to do is click your heels 3 times and repeat, There’s no place like home…
You’re welcome.
Ha! The New Horizons Academy can’t even spell “manifestos” correctly!
Not to mention the split infinitive – “we bravely model…”. It’s okay for Star Trek but not sure you would ace your finals with that kind of grammar.
Scientology has ‘alternate grammar.’
Yes. It’s known as The Student Hat.
Lol!
They have no exams, but their students “ace their finals”
The entire flyer is so poorly written….
Just sad
And to think….those parents are paying for a private education and this is what they get?
Clearly the graduates who “get on with their careers” go to work at the Pacific Cafe
I don’t like to stick up for Scientology, but the split infinitive rule for English is a myth.
Yes hgc10. Much like the garbage of not ending a sentence with a preposition. It was a “rule” made up by a single English professor. See W. Churchill’s attack on it for more humor.
Subordinate: “Sir, you ended your sentence with a preposition.”
Churchill: “That is the sort of errant pedantry up with which I will not put.”
Hilarious! 🙂
Mike each Thursday you give me so much bs for thought. Hugs. What I took away with this weeks spread was first,my fav pictures of Ron with hand on chin pondering where to stash his next inflow of cash. Old Ron does a lot of pondering from Target2 or is he at 3 now? Lol. Yes he was a master of do as I say not as I do. The crazy chicken is pathetic, but my other highlight is the dude holding the Cert and a bubble thing wrapped in cellophane. To me it looked like a troll hiding behind a green bush. A little red hat on. If so how deliciously appropriate. ????
The Cambridge Phoenix…well, then, let’s set him on fire and see if he comes back. You gotta walk the walk when you talk the talk, Cambridge Org.
I’ll make a deal with the Pacific Cafe: I’ll proofread their menus for spelling mistakes if they show me all of their certificates for their so-called “organic” product. Yes, I know it’s been a while since I’ve said that, but I still want those certs and I’m willing to get “in exchange” for them.
“The Big Aussie”…uh, “big” in what way? When someone makes that kind of claim, proof is required. Well, maybe he’s just rotund. We don’t want to scare the horses, after all.
And speaking of my deviant 1.1 mind, I have to say that I wouldn’t turn Drew Johnston down, but he’s nowhere near as hot as Captain Daddybear aboard the SS Mesothelioma.
Oh, Mighty My Mammy…sixtieth anniversary celebration and an as-yet-scheduled award ceremony, along with the weekly begging for filing. Why no pimps regarding your upcoming Ideal status? Or has that been delayed yet again? You aren’t keeping your Promise To Ron very well, and haven’t been for over forty years now.
Too bad I’m not heading anywhere near Phoenix (today, in fact, it’s Tampa, so, hey, Kathy False and all of your Flag OSA team, it’s time to try to Suppress The Suppressor again. But be quick, I’m only in town until tomorrow evening). I would love to hear about the accomplishments of the Vulture Ministers. It’s Open House, after all.
I know that you went for the cute reference, Mike, but I do have to wonder, where exactly is L1 Org? There’s no geographic hint for a copyright notice, nor a phone number. Isn’t it weird that they’d call an org that? What about restimulation from sec checks, which every single one of their “parishioners” have had?
Gotta keep it short this week. Time’s running out on the airport wi-fi.
L1 org is LI (Long Island) org. One of the saddest excuses for an “org” in the US. Has always been a failure even by scientology org standards.
It’s in Hicksville. Literally.
It’s somewhere in this building dominated by the American Mini Mart (Google maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7671862,-73.5273743,3a,75y,107.13h,78.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sR7_U5X1Pm_15BYTWQ_ZPUw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1?hl=en)
That’s really pathetic!
Reminiscent of Notre Dame and St. Patrick’s Cathedral….
It’s the last storefront to the rear, you can even start to make it out if you zoom in. Doesn’t look like an “ideal” site for auditing with the trains rumbling by, I wonder if they put a lot of work into soundproofing rooms or just put up with it….
It’s easier than that. They don’t do any auditing there.
Is there any auditing being done? Or, is it just Student Hat, Purif & SDR?
See… Scientology has a solution for everything!
The final solution?
I see the LI Org is next to the LIRR train station. Hicksville is where the Ronkokoma Branch splits off from the Port Jefferson Branch, putting this org at the epicenter of the transportation networks of the world’s busiest commuter railroad. Every day, thousands upon thousands of potential preclears pass through here within spitting distance of the org, and the impact is undeniable.
Ah, Lon Guyland. Now it makes sense. It’s one of those EUS orgs that just completely slip one’s mind, like New Haven and Battle Creek. Seriously, woukd we even remember Battle Creek if it wasn’t for their Event Cancelled notices. Thinking of all of the pathetic orgs and the empty abandoned “ideal” buildings they have, is East US the most pathetic continent around or what?
I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: I’ve lived in Miami for 60 yrs & this bldg is within 5 miles of my house. Outside of reading about it here, the Co$ presence in Miami is unheard of. The most recent known “new religion” here were the Hare Krishna’s, and they disappeared in the ’90s. If the Co$ is going to clear Mighty Miami, they are doing it very, very quietly.
Miami is one of the orgs that I haven’t seen, and can’t find, anything about, such as reports of current (or recent) active membership. Given that they are virtually invisible, and that several orgs with 70 to 100 members have identifiable online “footprints” (and have managed to go “ideal”) and show up in independent reports, I suspect that Miami is one of the orgs with only around 50 active members.
My guess is that Miami is going “ideal” because Miscavige has decided that it would look bad unless all the orgs in Flag’s home state appear up to par, and is willing to put up the money necessary to make up for the stalled local fundraising effort. And as I’ve said before, I think we will see more of this, where the new openings are mostly rescues of the stalled local efforts that have gotten as far as buying a building that has since been left as a decaying embarrassment (and cash drain).
Tim DeWall, former Scientologist, used to be in charge of that Org in the 90’s. LOL being so close to Flag, a lot of their staff got recruited by the SO, and their congregants were regged by them as well. Flag has the “best tech” and costs 2-3x more than services at the Miami Org, push Flag services at the Miami Org, and don’t care that the Org itself is understaffed, underfunded, and pretty much twisting in the wind. Dimwit Dave doesn’t understand how to really run this organization……PERIOD. LOL LRH is rolling in his grave thinking about what you’ve done to his perfect con.
I think it was Tampa that DeWall was at. It seems easy to confuse the Florida orgs, perhaps particularly for those of us who don’t live down there.
I still can’t find anything on Miami, they must be close to “non-existence.” The one clue that I did run across is that they seem to be one of several orgs who claim the Cardones, which might explain either their access to enough money to fund an ideal org, or part of the reason what Miscavige must have picked them as a top candidate for the bailout of a foundering ideal org project.
Miami org was known to keep their doors locked in 1968/69 and then start fires in the open fireplace with the SP/PTS policies >>> A friend from Miami on the SHSBC LA and HSDC AOLA told me that >>> we laughed a lot about that then too >>> I suspect that the policy that says to keep the doors open during business hours comes from that org!
I used to find discarded fliers written in Spanish that they would hand out to the landscapers and other workers in the neighborhood. I don’t care if they fleece the whales. But going after people who are getting by on minimal means is disgusting.
Yes Mike,
“Something can be done about it.” Oh yes.. If only the VM’s would Google that quote they would find YOUR blog above ElRon’s ‘classic lecture’ That would have to hurt. God forbid they click on “Mike Rinder’s Blog — Something Can Be Done About It”.
They might just realize that something CAN be done about it. Sweet
Omg. The Phoenix.
Good lord.
Lol
I am sorry but I never thought Scn’s were smart EVER. They all thnk the shitty e-meter reads thoughts. They all think they are going to “clear” the planet. They all think disconnecting from people bec you disagree is a good thing. They are not very bright – anyone or anything that tells you not to look elsewhere for information is hiding something – ALWAYS!
Peter, let’s not sugar coat it! They’re all complete idiots! They walk around thinking they’re the saviors of earth!
Like I’ve said, they do brainwashing well.
And the last time I tried to convince one of them that they are not expanding at all and that handing out WTH books is not making any difference in the world I was told that I was the idiot.
Did you look at him and laugh your ass off?
It was via email and he said he was blocking my messages after the idiot comment. He also said my attacks were proof that Scientology is expanding. I kind of felt sorry for the poor brainwashed fool.
Another week without Michael Chan is another eternity lost. His substitutes just don’t seem to cut it.
But Hey! I do like the guy doing the magic tricks though! Maybe it’s worth seeing how he makes your whole bank account disappear before your very eyes. Maybe even a family member or two. Step aside Cap’n Chan, you ain’t seen nothin yet! The show must go on!!!
Love the “Boarding School for Ethical Teens” flyer. What do you get when you teach the way Ron laid it out? Teens that are not college-ready, I would assume.
This boarding school for ethical teens is probably the next generation of the Yoke Reeder desert school for “out ethics” teens. The kids hate it.
Tabula rasa $camology robots.
College??? They don’t need no stinkin’ college!!! They’ve got the tech!
A tech college? Didn’t someone already come up with one of those?
Interesting that “actor” Tom Mendola has an IMDB profile that lists none of the films he has claimed to have appeared in. However, he does appear to be a session drummer who has done gigs with some real names in the past, including with Scientologists Isaac Hayes and Mark Isham but also with many “wogs” as well. Wonder why they push a past that’s so easy to discredit and yet ignore work that he may actually have some talent in.
I wonder how many of the new young people in Hollywood who would be the target of an ad like that, are now savvy enough to try to verify claims like this on IMDB. Not to say that IMDB is always a flawless reference, particularly for old work, but I have noticed that work which is claimed for several of these minor scientologist figures mostly isn’t listed.
Once again, Scientology’s penchant for stretching the truth and outright lying just ends up making them look even sleazier in the information age. It also shows that the role of Scientologists in Hollywood is rather unimpressive, and especially if you look at the awards listings on IMDB even the half dozen or so biggest names haven’t won any of the truly prestigious industry awards and aren’t even getting nominated anymore.
My guess would be that all the acting work claimed here must have been uncredited roles as an extra. I also noticed recently that one of these Scientology figures seemed to have their credits (which still fell short of adding up to what was claimed) spread across two separate IMDB entries under different versions of their first name, which is just very unprofessional to leave unfixed.
This Scio acting class scam is what first got Steve Mango involved with Scientology. Fortunately he had a partner who helped him wake up three years and $50K later. He says the course was worthless and not even worth the $20 he paid for it.
I am sorry to see that Scios are still offering these classes by no-name actors, since that indicates the Scios may still get a new member or two this way.
Interesting. I was reading actor Geoffrey Lewis’s obituary online and it said he was “a member of the Church of Scientology for which he credits his acting career “.
What career?
Playing the bad guy in a bunch of 1970s cop shows? And his characters always get gunned down by either Starsky and Hutch or someone on the SWAT team or whoever.
This is what Scientology does for actors?
LMAO!
He was a solid character actor, I don’t want to take that away from him.
But I checked on IMDB, and for 222 credited projects, he was only once nominated for a major industry award in 1981 – and didn’t win (plus 1 minor nomination and 1 minor win). That’s just what countless other actors have accomplished without Scientology, and nothing indicative of any increased ability.
Even Scientology’s big names haven’t won any major industry awards, and mostly were only nominated long ago around the time they first got into Scientology. If anything, the evidence is that the sort of training that results in the Scientology ” thousand-yard stare” limits their acting range to the consistently unexceptional.
Good point.
Doesn’t seem to be a lot coming out of Nashville. Wonder why?
Probably because Oscar Ayarzagoita is behind schedule as usual.
At this point along the scam (length of time its been running) anyone involved over a long period who still thinks that there is something to the bridge other than an expensive scam ain’t that bright.
They’re downright idiots. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
Don’t be so quick to judge them Dude. I heard they just put together a special seminar for Lemmings on the tech of hang gliding without the hang-glider. For a while it really got off the ground and looked promising, but they are having real problems with resigning anyone.
I can hang glide without the hang glider. I’ve done it several times while in a tree. I went straight down, but, I was still gliding…
Reminds me of that joke about swinging a cat in too small a room, “meow, thump, meow, thump…”
Maybe a manic chicken creates reality with the last still-in scientologist.
