Billionaire
Top other list of her accomplishments. Her claim to fame was marrying the right guy.
What is she doing in London?
Aquamarine says
Its so petty of me, I know, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to Ms. Duggan’s godawful taste in clothes. She’s a billionaire for crying out loud and she’s not unattractive. She could pay someone with good taste to pick out flattering, good quality, not necessarily designer but quality things, and put outfits together for her. Instead, what has Miss. Trish done for her latest painful to the eyes photo op – cut up a carpet and draped it around her shoulders? How can she leave the house – let alone allowed herself to be photographed – like this? Ok, I’ll stop. My apologies; end of picayune rant.
Yawn says
One of your best posts! Cracked me up. Not sure about the carpet design though, it looks more like a shower curtain from a cheap motel.
BTs apparently never went to finishing school.
Aquamarine says
@ Yawn,
And you are now cracking ME up, thank you! “A shower curtain from a cheap motel”…You nailed it… totally nailed it… Still laughing!!
LoosingMyReligion says
Aqua, what fine sarcasm! Such a big laugh. I, on the other hand, thought they were the kitchen curtains from his beach house that were in fashion two years ago.
Aquamarine says
Hi Loosing,
Well, its a toss up; my first spontaneous thought was it was a hideous carpet cut up but Yawn came thru with shower curtain from a cheap motel, which indicated to me as far more likely, because, after all, how does one drape a carpet around one’s shoulders?
On the other hand, flowered kitchen curtains can’t be discounted either.
So at this point, I’d say forget the carpet, its a toss up between cheap shower curtain or cheap kitchen curtains.
Can we ask her? Perhaps we can reach out to Ms. Duggan and offer to donate substantially to whatever she’s shilling for, but first we need this point clarified, i.e, where did she get that flowered shawl?
If/when she answers we can then withdraw our donation promise, informing her that we decided that NOT donating even a thin dime was for the “greatest good”, Along with the explanation we’ll give her an apology for any inconvenience accompanied by an LRH reference : “Never fear to hurt another in a just cause”.
Alcoboy says
It’s quite possible that the illustrious Mrs. Duggan might not have any fashion sense.
Read Karen's book, it's an outstanding story...... says
Off topic, but re your Podcasts Mike, no comments allowed, but I have to comment on the:
Excellent show with Karen Pressley the other day. Love her book! It’s the perfect artistic person’s being drawn to work the most dedicated team at Int Base, and then being tripped up by all the petty insane Hubbard regulations which are ruinous to all really talented persons going into Team Xenu top ranks of Sea Org.
Karen’s just an excellent explainer.
Of the three ex’s who most inspired me, it was Tom Provenzano, Dan Garvin and Karen. I’m so grateful that they were posting and bold enough to use their real names back in the late 1990s and early 2000s back when I got out.
It’s a relay activity, really enjoyed and learned a lot and still do, from Karen’s outspokenness.
I hope Mitch Brisker and Karen do a show also of their Int Base experiences.

What is curious about the Elena “Is that a new 10x front porch” Cardone event is the reason proposed for attending: “Let’s show our support.” Here’s this power woman whose time is valued at $11k for a few hours. And yet she needs to be propped up by a few fans from a rapidly dwindling cult?
Shouldn’t she be doing the propping up of those who pay big to hear her power message? The least you can ask for! No?
Aquamarine says
When will these Idiot Still Ins “cognite” that the Church of Scientology doesn’t give a damn about them and their health, happiness and prosperity?
The rank and file Scientologists can sleep in the gutter and hold tin cups for spare change on street corners for all that CO$ cares about them personally – their lives, their goals, their purposes, etc.
The ONLY reason for these incessant and ubiquitous “prosperity” seminars being held is for CO$ to end up with the lion’s share of any money these jerks make after attendance at one of these things!
Xenu forbid that someone does better in their business after one of these seminars!
Those Success Stories they write are going ot be culled for proof of actual improved income and the attendees will then be guilted into “giving back” and “keeping in the exchange” with CO$ for how they’ve been helped – never MIND that they PAID for the seminar…jeesh!

Is there any circumstance under which a “lip-sync battle” can accurately be called epic?

I’m finding it difficult to believe just how far removed from reality my former kult members are sliding.
It’s beyond comprehension that they’d have a staunch LDS author like Card as a headliner for a Hubbard “event” but I guess desperation is something that requires “unusual solutions”.
And Trish Duggan? And Grant Cardone’s wife? Roflmao.
But the biggest joke of all is “ANZO Expansion” – $cientology in this end of the world is fading away with barely a whimper.
Black humour indeed. Especially for the dwindling number of True Believers still awaiting the Pearly Gates of Target Two.

Throw it all away! Learn how to become a billionaire by marrying the right person and even become a “philanthropist”! (Saying you are one always makes an impression on your resume).

“Reach unparralled [sic] success.”
Scientology is the Andrew Tate of religions.
“We’re enslaved in a matrix we must escape from.”
To escape, you must first…errm…embrace the matrix, move up its ranks and become rich. You too can then swagger around with expensive cigars, watches, cars, plastic surgery, et al.

The Western “status quo”, in other words, sociopathically marketed as a form of “spiritual freedom.”
Aquamarine says
“An ideology that’s rooted in capitalism, consumerism and social darwinism.”
Right you are. And there’s nothing new to see here. CO$ is just the latest organizational incarnation of what started with the Reformation and John Calvin and the beginning of the demonization of the poor.
God smiles on the financially prosperous. Prosperity is akin to Godliness. Part and parcel of the Protestant Work Ethic that’s been going strong in America since the Puritans landed here in the 17th century. Wealth and prosperity go hand in hand with good character, good morals. The poor, on the other hand, are poor because in some ways they are UNgodly. They have character flaws, they’re degenerate, and so on, and this is “proven” by virtue of the “fact” that if they didn’t have these flaws they wouldn’t be poor!
In brief, prosperous people are godly and good, and poor people are ungodly and bad.
This has been a very strong concept in America for centuries and is still very strong on the poor and unemployed here who are on the political Right. They don’t refuse the government help available to them but they loathe and resent themselves for taking it, AND they resent and blame the welfare state for all of their troubles.
mwesten says
Thanks Aqua. And with that historical context, you realise that Scientology really doesn’t offer anything new at all. I’ve been lucky enough to spend a number of years in Asia and can say with some certainty that there is more wisdom and awareness in the average street food seller or tuk tuk driver than any OT8 I’ve ever interacted with. The longer I’m out of “The West”, the more revolting its culture becomes. That Hubbard ultimately dismissed the East for its lack of money worship says it all.
Aquamarine says
Interesting! I’m shopping around for an (eventual) affordable place to retire. What’s occurring now in the USA is appalling to me. A vast generalization of a statement I know, but an itemized list of why I am now at best embarrassed to be an American would not be appropriate to share on this blog. And this is coming from someone directly descended, on the paternal side, from one of the Signers. Yes, what’s acceptable and apparently the new normal in today’s America is…well, enough of that. If I didn’t still have a small business with a few good peoples’ livelihoods dependent upon it I would leave the US with relief. I spend a good deal of my free time researching different countries in which to eventually retire. My choice would depend a good deal upon the mentality of the people with whom I would be surrounded. I lived iwith my father n a 3rd world country for 2 years when I was young so racial and religious differences, physical differences per se in people do not freak me out. If people are as a group mostly civilized, or wanting to be, respectful and understanding of one another or aspiring to be, I can relate to them. My own country is for me now (as a whole, overall as a nation) a disgraceful, utterly embarrassing, high tech barbarism. Maybe retirement in one of the Far East countries is the answer. I’m going to check out the affordable options 🙂

I had a friend move to Thailand to retire. He said you can live like a king (or queen) on social security in Thailand. I’ve never been there so I can’t comment. I’m just passing his thought on to you. If you find a good place to retire let me know as I’m looking also. America is on the way to becoming a banana republic and it might be time for me anyway, to look outside the country to live. But where?
Aquamarine says
@Cindy,
“…’on its WAY’ to being a banana republic”? I think it already is. I lived in one for 2 years so I have something of a frame of reference.
I’ve heard the same good stuff about Thailand! But I know nothing about the country either. I’m going to check it out further. I’ll definitely share what I find out.
Cindy says
Please do. I await your travelogue and thoughts about Thailand and other places.

Thailand is a truly magical place. Lovely people, amazing food, stunning scenery (beaches, islands, jungles, mountains). It never ceases to delight. Wealth obsession is alive and well in the cities (and farang hell holes like Phuket) so go rural or up north for more down to earth types.
Vietnam, also. And Indonesia. Better yet, explore the whole region. You’ll love it! 😁
