As many of you know, I am traveling. I dont have time to do a full edition of Thursday Funnies. Part II will come tomorrow.
You can see the interview I did with Megyn Kelly last nite here and here. There are two segments last night. There is more coming tonight.
But I didn’t want to deny the Regraded Being addicts their fix, especially as it is so appropriate to this week’s news.
KFrancis says
Dave I think you have to admit Mike has an awful lot of people watching and listening to him. By your own definition then you need to recognize he is gaining more power while yours is diminishing by the day. Tom Cruise can finish you off. That’s got to be a very uncomfortable thought..
Great interviews with Megan! I think she is both amazed at what she is hearing and trusts the source.
Michael Mallen says
Dave, here’s some cheap advice: START DEALING IN TRUTH.
I know, tall order.
Beryl says
You were again convincing on Megyn Kelly’s show tonight. It is good to know that the Church was invited to send a representative but declined, as they always do. I suspect they declined because they know that the information presented in the documentary is accurate, and so all they can do is issue written denials and make some phone calls.
Michael Mallen says
Regraded Being – Great!!!
Anyone wanna create a special website for Der Leader called: whoisdavidmiscavige.com.?
Kemist says
Domain name is already sold.
I wonder who has it. Must be the cherch.
Michael Mallen says

Aquamarine says

Aquamarine says
Regraded, I also want to thank you once more for making what are sad and tragic truths fodder for laughs and chuckles. My viewpoint on this concept is that if Mel Brooks could use the tragedy of the Holocaust as fodder for comedy then the Church of Scientology’s insanity is certainly fair game for same.
Mike, it can’t be said often enough: thank you for all you do, of which your daily wit and wisdom on this blog is no small part.
Aquamarine says
Edit: “that opened their stuck flows”, not “opened stuck their flows”.
Aquamarine says
Regraded, you nailed it. The church will spin the debacle as a monumental expansion win. Everything is ALWAYS spun that way; everything is a “win” for the church, and as for still in Scientologists, they too are always, always always always winning.
Their marriages and relationships are always the greatest right up until the moment they get divorced when the break up is immediately spun as a huge cognition and highly successful ethics cycle that opened stuck their flows and re-aligned their dynamics.
Their businesses are always doing well and they’re always having wins with their businesses and jobs until one day suddenly they have no more business or job, but no matter, the fact that they have no more business or lost the job, etc. is ALWAYS the greatest good for them and a VERY big win!
They NEVER struggle financially until one day they declare bankruptcy but somehow they seem to be quite “uptone” about even that…
Honestly, this cult is so – well, I just can’t think of anything that hasn’t already been said to describe it, so I’ll quote from Jenna Miscavige and say it is simply beyond belief.
From83 says
Thank You Aquamarine. It really help pointed out a huge out-point I hadn’t seen previously.
Good Fella says
Mike,
Just watched you on Fox. Your presence is so There, so certain, dare I say “excellent TRs”. But TRs aside, Mike Rinder was there – a big difference. I am so damn proud of you. The energy, logistics, the sheer demand on your own personal resources, yet you still keep going 110%. We are very fortunate
DAMN, YOU’RE THE DUDE!

Here’s another article that has lots of photos including one of our friend, Mike Rinder. Sorry, I won’t send any more. I’ve been looking around the web at the response articles to ‘Going Clear’ and just wanted to share.

I’m TV-challenged at the moment; is there a way to watch Mike’s latest Fox interview on Youtube or something?

Check out Piers Morgan’s scathing article about Tom Cruise in his response to watching ‘Going Clear’.
I was never a huge Piers Morgan fan but he redeemed himself today.
Eagle Eye says
A couple of nights ago, the film Going Clear was actually covered in a Latin TV station in Florida.
What a great kick in the ass for Miss Kabitch! They even report negatively about him and his Neo Nazi organization in Spanish. (And I’m sure also in Italian and German and . . .) I love it!
EagleEye says
Oh, Ohhh, Oh, my god! HA,HA, HA,HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the bestest of all the Regraded Being comix so far. It was so funny reading the first frame and hearing the couple say all those pre-programmed statements! I thought they sounded just like Miss Kabitch. And then I read the second frame and the guy is doubled over with laughter and saying exactly what I was thinking. Shit, this is the best ever.
Hey Miss Kabitch, FUCK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucille Austero says
Mike, you are awesome on Megyn Kelly. Can’t wait for tonight’s segment!!
jgg2012 says
How were their stats this week?
Alice Graves says
Regraded Being is indeed an addiction now so thank you so much for not denying your people this run today.
To hopefully add to the day’s funnies – this link is to CaféMom – they clipped some of Tom Cruise’s most famous film scenes, and paired them with “explaining away” verbiage a la scientology bubble think. It’s pretty funny:

Great interview Mike. Looking forward to the next.
alexdevalera says
I just so the second part of the interview. The pin of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch hath been pulled, Thou shalt count untill three,,, and…
Mike you are great in the interview, you look so much better than when you were telling Sweeney “that never happened” on the subject of Miscavige assaulting people. You seem to be a really merry SP in the limelight. LOL
Regarded being is terrific!
alexdevalera says
Excelente interview Mike!! Very Clear, concise and straight to the point. You were very convincing. David Miscavige will never dare to confront you for a match on ABC or Fox News. He has gone so far out of reality that his only solution is to keep hiding with his head into the sand. Even Fox News acknowledged that the usual tactics of the Church backfired.
JG says
There’s no question this time Mike…you WERE there for the second half of the interview
Raindog says
And in celebration of Thursday Funnies, this new Scn documentary!

Mike Rinder says
Thanks Raindog. Thursday Funny indeed! Love the British sense of humor. Wish Monty Python was still around….
Old Surfer Dude says
Thanks, Raindog! You just can’t beat British humor! Now that’s some funny shit!
Espiando says
Regraded Being is the Thomas Nast to the Toxic Dwarf’s Boss Tweed, blasting the corruption via the visual medium to all who can see. And it may be prudent to remind the Dainty Midget what happened to Tweed: he fled to Spain, where he was caught by the Spanish cops after the policia recognized him from…a Thomas Nast cartoon. Tweed was extradited back to the US, where he died in the pokey.
After what happened Sunday, COB RTC LOL would probably wish for such a nice fate.
LDW says
50 hours of sec checking at Flag = 25-50,000 dollars.
Seeing Mike Rinder telling it like it is on Fox News…PRICELESS

Jenni S says
The only reason I can see why this scenario might not play out is that most Scientologists, as I remember from when I was one, mostly have only Scientologist friends, not necessarily because they planned it that way, but because it is the natural outcome of their involvement with the church.
McCarran says
Yes, I agree Jenni, but leaks do happen even with the most strident observer of “Hear No Evil; Speak No Evil; See No Evil.” Then there will be the scientologist who is not on lines and something comes on TV and they just continue to watch it. If they’re on OT VII, there is an automatic off switch, even if they were watching the whole thing or it came on the radio or a friend brings it up – eyes glaze over – they check out of their senses.
DollarMorgue says
I love Regraded Being’s comics 😀
I also love watching Megyn Kelly interview you, Mike. Classic statements by the church.
Michael Mallen says
More media:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3023123/PIERS-MORGAN-Tom-Cruise-ditch-vile-cult-Scientology-Hollywood-ditches-him.html
Mike Rinder says
That is a devastating article. Like Piers Morgan or not he hits the nail on the head.
Potpie says
As devout of a Miscavige Scientologist as Tom makes himself to be possibly he should reread what Hubbard has to say on the anatomy of a problem ( I think this applies to BIG BEINGS as well). Tommy boy certainly does have a problem in the present time. I would suggest JT and Kirstie do the same. I agree with Morgan, their futures aren’t looking very bright right now.
Potpie says
And if that trio did denounce Scientology would Miscavige really roll out data from their PC folders??? Is he that crazy? I’d say yes but doing something like that would have devastating effects on the church in my opinion. There are many non-scientology loyal fans that don’t care what
JT’s sexual preferences are, that don’t care how overweight Kirstie might be and don’t care how dingy TC might act at times. This would be a great time for them to denounce Scn and get on with their lives as Miscavige scrambles to maintain his throne. And of course that dagger would go deep into the heart of that little prick. Leah did it and so can JT, TC and Kirstie.
Interested Party says
It’s a good article for sure but it would have so much more credibility with a different by-line
Martin Padfield says
The man’s a spiv. Smug beyond belief. But on this one he calls it right.
LDW says
Dear Tom Cruise,
If you really do think that the tech has value and should be protected, you better have a come-to-Jesus moment and realize that you BFF David Miscavige is the suppressive.
I don’t know how you are going to crawl out of the hole you’ve dug for yourself by taking on miscavige’s valence. I do know you’ll be a happier man when you do.
McCarran says
Thumbs up.
Bob Graham says
Very well said. Best article I’ve read since the HBO documentary came out.
Ms.P says
Agree best article so far.
Can’t help but think that if Tom is such a die hard Scientologist and knows his tech, is it not time for him to have that big cognition now?
Dear Tom – seeing that your career has taken a nose dive and that you’ve dumped all 3 wives that you supposedly loved and/or girlfriends, due to Davey, don’t you suppose you might just be PTS to that SP?
Michael Mallen says
Slightly off topic, but these last few lines of ‘If’ by Kipling capture what those recovering from overdoses of kool-aid could use to help reclaim their lives:
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools
Nickname says
Very good.
Nickname says
You seem to be very well-read. I wonder if it’s how you organize your time, or if it’s more cognitive interest. Have you read Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics?
Michael Mallen says
Parts of it. I prefer his Poetics.
Nickname says
I’ll look into Poetics. I looked at his Ethics and “admin scale” clicked in my mind, and I took off on it. All admin scales interrelate. E.g. the average individual runs through a hundred of them before he’s done with breakfast. Trey lectured on it and pointed out that LRH didn’t explain a whole lot about how to use them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Aaum3ELkco Three lectures total. I wonder I LRH realized, when he sketched it out as a quick-fix aid to Mission ED’s, if he realized what he’d done. Seems to me like a template for logic of living, or something like that, and transposes over onto an org board when any one scale gets too complex for the conceptual format. An admin scale represents one’s own ethics, and maybe I’m hung-up on people who remained in the Co$ and their “reasons” but it seem to me their admin scales were something they didn’t look at, or they would have seen the obvious bugs in them. Most are fine with social norms and societal acceptance of goals (money, family, death). It’s when they get to higher levels that people seem to wallow, e.g. Pythons: “The Meaning of Life.” “42.” And a definition of “good” would be nice, so we could all resolve Spy v. Spy. (I think the definition of good can be easily found simply by looking at the common elements in admin scales, and at what works. Creed and Wardman get one sentence in Nichomachean Ethics exactly when they translate: “Good, then, would be used in two senses: good as an end in itself, and good as a means.”
SILVIA says
Thanks for keeping up with our ‘addiction’ to Regraded Being – it sure make us laugh.
Yet, it has some truth…several ‘under the radar’ have seen it and choose to resign from the church.
cindy says
This is great news, Silvia. If UTR’s saw it and chose to resign from the church, can you get any of them to come out on Mike’s Blog? We’d love to read their stories.
Marisa Sigmond says
This comic sketch is great. But that’s the truth how Scientologists will defend this film. Also, 2 terms I can not stand Scilons saying. #1.- Bitter Defrocked Apostate #2.- Ecclesiastical Leader. They never used to say these terms up until a few years ago. Copying off of Holy books so they sound legit. Scientology- At least keep it genuine and stick to your Scio lingo. Like D.B. and C.O.B.
alexdevalera says
I’ve been working on vocabulary and definitions lately how about the JHC (Jekill and Mr Hyde Church) the CGH (cult of greed and hate). David Miscavige is as much of an ecclesiastical leader as Pope Francis is a porn star.
Mike Nimble says
And you’ll note that ALL of their religious terminology is a straight lift from Christianity. Seeing as they didn’t really have any of their own.
“Minister”
“Apostate”
“Parishioner”
“Chapel”
The tricked-up cross
etc etc
And then they have the hide to run Easter and Christmas “services”. (What, no Hannukah? no Diwali?)
It seems the only real religion they’re aware of is Christianity.
From this alone we can see that they themselves don’t really believe they’re a religion.
cindy says
Interesting that all the terms the church uses to appear “religious” and the cross they use and the minister’s collar they had our execs wear in the Battle of Portland and other times, all come from Christianity, a religion that Ron said was an implant and not true. Again, they lie when it suits them and “for the greater good.”
cindy says
They know they’re lying about being a religion and about stealing religious words from Christianity, which per Ron, has Jesus and the cross being an implant. Any overt is not an overt to them if it saves the church, and the end justifies the means in Scn.
Old Surfer Dude says
Nice job on Fox, you bitter apostate on the fringes of the internet who was kicked out several lifetimes ago…

Dave,
How is your week going? Still basking in the glory after another year of straight up and vertical statistics for the Birthday Boy?
With all of the new interest in your cult, are you counting interviews, such as Mike’s on FOX, as favorable press?
Have you invited Greta to Building 50 for an interview?

Is there a link to the rest of the interview?

WINNING!

Love the comic strip as usual Mike. Great interview too – you come across very well. Kudos!
killerhawk2000 says
Hi Mike a big fan of yours. For someone that they call nobody. Scientology surely has given u alot of attention in every video they made.
It give me a feeling of a jilted lover.
Katherine says
Mike – great interview! You come across so well on camera. It must be extremely liberating to do something you’re very gifted at without the shroud of DM hanging over you. Speaking of, I never tire of watching the video of you and Marty fishing and telling the story of trying to talk to media on the phone with DM writing notes telling you what to say. So damn funny!
Katherine says
Hi Katherine. I’ve been posting here as Katherine for quite a while and haven’t seen another Katherine before, so to avoid confusion I ask that you add an initial or some other identifying feature to your posts. That way no one will mistake your comments or opinions for mine or mine for yours. Would you be so kind? Thanks!
Kat says
So very sorry Katherine! Of course I will.
I hope I did it correctly.
katherine says
Thanks, Kat! Very nice to meet you : )
Gus Cox says
I agree, great interview. I finally got to see Going Clear on HBO GO (yay!) and one very important thing about the film was watching the Mike Rinder clips. There is a concept called the ring of truth: Something rings true, or it does not. In the film, there were clips of Mike when he was in and defending Scientology, and there were interviews of him now.
The concept of words “ringing true” was perfectly illustrated there. You have the same man, talking in different times. In the earlier clips, you can just tell that he is under pressure and he is lying through his teeth. In the later (current) clips, the same man’s words ring utterly true.
The difference is glaring and obvious, and it perfectly illustrates the concept.
The later man also seems much happier and more at peace. I have my own shit between the “then me” and the “now me.” My best to you and yours, Mike Rinder.
Fred G. Haseney says
Recently, I happened to see Nicole (formerly Nicole Sims, a registrar at AOLA) and her boyfriend, Brian. I haven’t seen them since 2012, I moved out of the small apartment units she owns on Kenmore Ave. near the PAC land base.
So there they were, at Hollywood and Vine; Nicole saw me and exclaimed, “Why it’s Fred!”
I replied (this being last Sunday, the debut of our favorite documentary on Scientology):
“On HBO tonight: Going Clear; Scientology exposed! Check it out!”
“Oh, my God!” was Nicole’s reply.
Nicole, being the OT that she is, KNEW from my statement that had left her “church.”
grygrmr says
Wow! Nicole is STILL doing it? Unbelievable! I haven’t seen her since the 90s when she was at AOLA. She used to be married to Harold. (a real piece of work) I heard he blew or maybe disappeared – a long time ago. Wonder what happened to him…maybe a rotting corpse in the basement of AOLA??? HMMM??
McCarran says
Actually, Harold did pass away.
Mreppen says
Harold blew his brains out. Sad but true.
Pepper says
Are you serious?! Harold Sims committed suicide? Please tell me that’s not true.
Harold was the OTIII supervisor at AOLA for some time, and he was a character. I recall being told by an FSM at AOLA that he left the SO because he was upset that Nicole had left him for a public and he didn’t like the way that the church handled it with Nicole and the public. I don’t know any other details other than that, or if that was even true.
cindy says
Pepper, What you said is true. I got it first hand from an AOLA auditor who was at Flag with Harold when he was doing training and got word that Nichole had left him for a public and that she’d blown staff at AOLA with that public. He was despondent to the point that they put a suicide watch on him. He left the SO and then killed himself over the broken heart that Nichole cheated on him.
Pepper says
Cindy, that is so sad about Harold. I never knew that it ended that way for him. Thanks for letting me know though.
Michael Mallen says
Sad and tragic.

Megan Kelly, Bullseye! I am so glad this story has resonated with a newsperson. Finally!
Greta, Wake UP!
Alice Graves says
McCarran – Ditto re: Megan Kelly picking up this thread. Wouldn’t it be grand if Fox News trained its focus on this cult and broadcast it all over conservative America?
Pepper says
Exactly McCarran, I was thinking of Greta Van Susteren too, who’s also on FOX. I wonder if she’s speaking with Megyn Kelly these days since Megyn is talking to “The SP’s”? And why is Greta exempt from being asked any questions about Scientology? She’s been in the CoS for years!
Gus Cox says
And she is, or was, married to notorious Bhopal ambulance chaser John P. Cole.
