I have been collecting these for some time as they are sent to me. Not worth much really, other than as a record of events, but when you accumulate a selection of them and just scan through you see some interesting patterns.
As they came in I highlighted certain recurring statements.
This top one is an email sent out a couple of months ago that just seemed to perfectly set the stage.
Hello there!
According to our records you have been a member of the Valley OT Committee. Whether you were part of the push recently or quite a while ago, you may not have heard the latest news — we’re officially starting construction in 2015!
We’re eager to get back in comm with everyone who helped Valley OTC over the past decade, and get them onto the stage to be counted and recognized as we triumphantly bring it to a DONE.
The impact of our Ideal Org on the 1.8 million people in the San Fernando Valley is going to be huge. You’re already seeing the impact that GAT 2 is having on Scientology and on the world at large. When we open one of the largest orgs in the world, when we start really reaching out to a central files that goes back 40+ years, the amount of help we will deliver will raise the tone for everyone who lives here. Combine that with the global comm lines that flow from the Valley, and we’re looking at some broad, powerful de-aberration.
Soon, we will transition from our current fundraising focus to being the OT Committee for an Ideal Org, with a new set of hats and ways to help. And there’s so much fun to be had in helping people.
We would love to bring you up to date, walk you through the space plans and get your feedback on the facilities we’re going to have. We want to re-connect in person and thank you for your help.
So how about it? We still meet 7:30 on Tuesdays. We’d love you to stop by 7027 Hayvenhurst Ave., Van Nuys. Or give Debbie Suplee a call at (818) 723-1761. Or drop an e-mail to me atkathywelch.otc@gmail.com and tell us what you’re up to.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Much Love,
Kathy Welch

An interview I did with Susie Meister last week will be on her blog today.
She tells me you will be able to listen to it here if you are interested:
Valerie says
I’ve been off the grid, but March 3 and June 2 had 49 active Members, 0 Briefings, 21 attendees GI $14K+ on the 3rd of March $17K plus on the 2nd of June. Hmm… flatlined anyone? Also on the 31st of March they said 46 people attended but only 32 names are listed as attendees – who were the other 14 people? It’s interesting how the statistics spiked for a second around the release date of “Going Clear” but rapidly dropped off to exactly what they were before.
VWD to the person who keeps getting the minutes and passing them on.
RolandRB says
Don’t they have betting shops over there? All the OTs have to do is put a dollar on an accumulator bet for the horse racing using their OT powers to know which horses will win, making sure they take the price for the last few runners to prevent manipulation of the market, and at the end of the day they have a few hundred thousand dollars to lump towards their Ideal Org.
Gus Cox says

Oh, that’s just great. We’re going to have a bunch of unvaccinated Scientology kids. Wonderful.
Cre8tivewmn says
I found that particularly jarring when I listened to Mike’s interview where he quotes LRH about vaccines and risk being greatest good for greatest number .
On the other hand , it IS the valley — one of the hot spots for anti-Vax nonsense.
Kathy H. says
The way the email was signed, “much love, Kathy Welch”!! As a never in who has learned so much from all of you about the abusive reality of the CoS, wow, it’s just so reassuring to know that it’s really all about “love” after all!! (LOL!!)
Aquamarine says
Kathy H., “Much love”, or its abbreviation, “ML”, is Scientology’s complimentary close of choice and promiscuously used irrespective of the purpose of the communication itself. A letter can be the most casual of notes or the most unpleasant and unwelcome news but no matter how inappropriate it is you’ll get “Much love” above the signature. Its a cult thing.
Robert Almblad says
Mike,
Nice interview with Susie Meister…. you were entertaining and eloquent as usual…
I agree that as we evolve with our past experiences in Scientology that addressing the subject from a more philosophical point of view is more interesting and productive of understanding of what happened to us the past 30-40-50 years of our lives than just looking at the outer shell of Scientology: TC, JT and DM…etc…
Faith vs science? Yup, it’s a whole lot of faith and not so much science. Sure there is science, but it is overwhelmed by things like KSW that requires us to look no further.. and to question nothing… ouch.
Bravebloggers says
Can someone explain this specific STAT to me please? Per the minutes above…and quoted below.
I could be incorrect in my understanding on how the stats are calculated/reported (please correct/educate me if I’m making a mistake). I fully acknowledge I don’t know how they capture stats except reading there is a cut off time on stats on Thursdays(?) I think; and then a new week begins.
How can a status increase reported in the minutes from the week of May 26th, as new status increases for two separate couples, be announced AGAIN for the week of 2 June as seemingly additional new status upgrade by the same people at the same status level recorded and reported in the 26 May minutes?
Isn’t that just one status increase- simply announced twice in two separate weekly stat reports- but implied as two separate increases – when in fact it only happened once per couple during the week of the 26th of May? Regardless if the donation was matched or not, the status achieved by said donation is only awarded once for the donation, not twice. I think…
I shall copy the excerpts and would really appreciate illumination as I’m under the impression stats are a BIG deal. And if you follow the other numerical status reports it shows from X# to X# pretty clearly in terms of adding or losing numbers based on the previous weeks numbers. Either this is an error or I’m missing something. How can you capture the same stat as new in two consecutive weeks? This would be statistically incorrect unless they did make another donation resulting in a status increase the following week…but then wouldn’t they have a new “status level label” to accompany said donation?

“John and Linda Massey went to Humanitarian and were loudly acknowledged by those in attendance; Linda gave huge thank you to the amazing benefactor for the donation of half the amount needed for them to go up and win in this most valuable of activities – making Ideal Orgs – OURS!”
“Pete & Annie Sokoloff also went to Humanitarian and were likewise acknowledged by the attendees!”
“June 2, 2015” Minutes
“People moved up in status:
John and Linda Massey to Humanitarian”
“Pete and Annie Sokoloff from Pasadena to Humanitarian”
I’m probably missing something. Maybe they weren’t actually counted until 2 Jun and just announced 26 May as an enticement or something.
Additionaly (albeit a petty point) anyone notice on the March 24th meeting how “Mr. Harrison” was constantly referred to as “she”? Shouldn’t OTs have nipped this error easy as pie, such a small error repeated over and over? I don’t have perfect recall, but it screamed off the page at me.
Espiando says
Sea Org officers follow an old naval tradition, now ended, where all officers were referred to with male pronouns regardless of gender. Brandy Harrison is female, but as a Sea Org officer, is referred to as “Mister”. So by their own standards, the pronoun thing is correct.
Bravebloggers says
Ty for your reply.
I was aware that “Sir” was a gender neutral address in the SO, but I’ve never seen a Mr., who was anatomically a she referred to as “he” in any other previous SO documentation/communication posted on several websites similar to Mr. Rinder’s over the last few years. This normally would’ve jumped out at me. Or in any recordings of SO public or internal (but leaked on Internet) videos/recordings.
Perhaps I’ve just not seen nor heard the usage before this. I understand, I guess, about the Sir address as a military type usage but the pronoun usage is unique and odd to me.
Oh well, if that is their form of use, it’s their form of use.
Thank you for explaining.
thegman77 says
Regarding the multiple entries question by Braveblogger, you’re quite correct in what you’ve spotted. In scio, one is to believe whatever is reported at that particular time. Confusions, repetitions, stats that cannot be possibly true, ALL are considered FACTS AT THIS MOMENT and the members are committed to believing them…at the possible cost of a round of expensive sec checks if one does not comply. 🙂

Round and round and round once again with RCS BS. It’s all they have, mind bending bullshit. No business in the real world could treat their customers/adherants like this and get away with it for long. Governments and religions apparently entrust bullshit as a major component of operational control.
The mind numbing use of lies and “you’ll lose your eternity” if you don’t obey scare tactics of the RCS is so ingrained with, wait.. what do they call themselves? OT Committees! Yeah, OTs! Operating Trash more like it, experts at the half or non existent truth.
The grand old enemy of honesty waits lurking in the shadows, it’s watching you scientology and don’t you forget it. That gut wrenching feeling of loss and embarrassment when lies are exposed mounts every day, like a taxi meter it accumulates and accumulates. Soon you pack of assholes, soon…

It’s Groundhog Day!
Jenni S says
I have a real personal dislike of Quinn Taufer because when I was in the Orange County OTC, he came to a meeting and dissed President Obama (he wasn’t president yet) because Obamacare would funnel money to the psychs. So inappropriate for a church event.
Roger Hornaday says
Do you suppose people at these meetings actually make eye contact with each other?

“The impact of our Ideal Org on the 1.8 million people in the San Fernando Valley is going to be huge. You’re already seeing the impact that GAT 2 is having on Scientology and on the world at large.”
ROFL! I just have to laugh. 🙂 What frothing insane lunatics these few remaining Scientology crooks are. The entire population of San Fernando Valley is 1.8 million, and these screamingly insane crooks want to pretend they have managed to rook and swindle every one of them? Seriously.
The only impact these filthy crooks have had against the people in San Fernando Valley has been to swindle a hand full of rubes, marks, and suckers every year, all of whom wake the fuck up quickly and start wondering how the bloody fuck they could be so stupid as to fall for Scientology’s obvious frauds.
The idea that all 1.8 people living in the Valley have been defrauded by these Scientology crooks is laughable. 🙂

Note: The minutes are for the sole use of Valley OTC members. All members receive a copy. Please do not forward the minutes to anyone else for any reason.

And I wonder which one of these ‘crooks’ is the leaker?
Yo Mr. Dave Dickbreath,
Ya think you can get this scene debugged. For christs sake if you could find the leak you could solve the whole problem of ‘not enough income’!!! Come on Dave, do it NOW<NOW<NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Al Brown says
I’m not sure RB, but Mike Rinder posted a picture on June 8 of a guy shooting fire out of two sides of his ass. So there must be at least 2 sides involved.

Soon, we will transition from our current fundraising focus to being the OT Committee for an Ideal Org, with a new set of hats and ways to help. And there’s so much fun to be had in helping people.
How are they going to help? To help they need to get bodies In the shop, something orgs planet wide have been failing to do for years. Why is Valley going to be different?

And call-in where you get 10 calls a day bugging you to confirm. Do scientologist answer their phones anymore?
John P. Capitalist says
Thanks to the ease of adding a given number to the blocked caller list on either Android or iPhone, no, Scientologists don’t answer their phones any more. At least, not to the people in the cult tasked with calling members. One friend showed me his phone, and allowed me to count the 52 automatically blocked calls they received in the previous 24 hours. Whenever he gets a call from a new number with a similar prefix to the blocked list, it, too, goes on the block list.
Rick Mycroft says
As telemarketers and idiots who do “swatting” calls know, it’s not that hard to spoof caller-id.
Aquamarine says
Yes! Call block – JT, pay attention – in Scientology, what’s really “beautiful” , is call block.

The OT Committee has a big problem with keeping its OTs. “Income” rollercoasters around like crazy and none them notice that actually course completions are ridiculously small. You’d think the 3rd time around would make the ‘courses’ go faster, but then again, they all have to go to Flag to take the ‘courses’.
And one OT is begging for the money to ‘up her status’ by actually taking ‘courses’.
All of the meeting notes sound more like an Amway meeting than an ‘ecclesiastical’ revival.

Yeah, I noticed Ralph Temps in there as an SRD comp – Dude’s been around for DECADES! Since at least the late 1970’s

Wonder if they’ve figured out who is being naughty?
The OTC minutes made sad reading. You could feel the despair as week after week they are making almost no progress. Sad. Very sad.
Aquamarine says
I don’t feel sorry for them. They’re deliberately deluding themselves and have been for years. They’ve had to WORK at keeping themselves so indefatigably dumb. Forget the fact that they’re ostensibly OTs with, if you please, OT perceptions – these idiots have plowed themselves in to the point where they can’t even observe the obvious on the level of someone with a room-temperature IQ. Their descent into increasing blindness was causitive and continues because they want to be this way. At some point they decided they didn’t want to see. At some point they decided it was safer not to look. Fine. Let them wallow in their delusions for as long as they can, because, no matter the justification, the penalty for willful and continuing self invalidation is high. When it comes due, I for one, will not be shedding tears for them. End of Bashing Valley OTC Members Rant.
Roger Hornaday says
Case gain from your comment.
Wayne Borean aka The Mad Hatter says
According to Jon Atack the ‘training’ is hypnotic, and helps to remake the Scientologist’s personality. If Jon is right (and a bunch of ex-Scientologists say they do), then the OTC members should be pitied.
Mike would be a good source to check this with. He was a long time member, and it took some really horrible treatment to wake him up.
Nickname says
Aquamarine –
You’re right it’s an issue of responsibility. There are so many ways to approach it with words. Most people in the western world live their lives on an admin scale which only goes as high as one lifetime, then Heaven or nothing. The great value of religion is that it gives a sense of values. The great liability is that it can be altered in meaning. Religion is insight into life, parables if you will, extending the admin scale higher than just one lifetime. People follow because they themselves do not have that insight, yet we/they do trust, or have faith.
Eventually, if one studies it enough, a religion gives enough of the philosophy so that the individual can see the insights for himself. I’ve met Catholics at various levels who really impress me for their understanding and tolerance of others. Their faith paid off. But I have tried mentioning to two Christians, in a one-sentence simple statement, that many religions have many goals in common: spirituality, higher states, greater understanding of one’s fellow man, greater personal integrity; purposes of peace and harmony. And each of these two separate dedicated, church-going Christians shut me off like a disease.
That is the extent to which each relies on the teachings of their religion, or the extent to which ‘membership’ or ‘participation’ in a group-reality dominates their own thought. They are both good people, helpful, charitable, sociable. (Just dumb … “very interesting, but dumb.”) The guys who set up the religions recognized that that’s whom they were dealing with. In Rome, it was people who thought torturing people was entertainment – feeding them to lions, crucifying them, watching them fight to the death. Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle meant NOTHING to those bestially stupid people. It was all about force, and slaves, and living by the rules of the society – REGARDLESS of what those were! “Noble cause” was slaying those who begged to differ.
Religions do ‘play’ on the group reality, it is part of life and cannot be avoided. But groups appoint leaders, naturally, I guess. Someone to set goals and run the upper portions of and admin scale with purposes and plans and policies. Those leaders then speak for the group at various levels and marshal agreement. That is a liability, as those group leaders do not have the same depth of insight, and indeed may not give a damn about such “fairy notions” as “insight.” (What a crock!) Some just see it as an opportunity to gratify their own material lusts – something all religions warn against, to my knowledge. Those appointed group leaders are not addressing or appealing to the principles of the religion, but to the group-think or group impulse, and they punch buttons of those in the group: fears, doubts, hatreds, angers, suspicions – and inflame them with we/they distinctions.
I thought Susie Meister is a very intelligent woman, beneath her lovely, breathlessly feminine jewelry of laughter and giggling, obviously very smart. “Gracious” is an under-appreciated word. Her understanding and what most refer to as “open-mind” and “objective viewpoint” impressed me. She has a doctorate in religion. I don’t know much else about her, never heard of her before, but if she has a viewpoint of religion which spans religions and looks for the principles of each and all, then that’s a valuable viewpoint more individuals might care to take a look at some day. What are the admin scales for religions? Me, I don’t look at the marketing of religion, but the marketing and packaging of philosophy into religion to reach the mass market. Religion one could say is philosophy with an exclamation point. But one should never subordinate the philosophy to the immediate gratifications of the group agreement.

you know I’m just a little never-in but I am always struck by just how monotonous and repetitive daily life in Scientology must be.

It’s a snorefest unless you’re being harassed, hounded, training on some course you’ve been forced to do or are receiving some really bad auditing or the infamous sec check. Then it’s pure hell.

Someone Else’s Problem: My LOUD thoughts exactly!! I could possibly see how Sea Org people might stick with the cult year after year if they’re getting some strokes, some energy, but they don’t. All they get is this boring fucking material to ingest and regurgitate, no sleep, constant badgering to hit impossible results, and the RPF if they don’t bring enough enthusiasm to it!!!
How they endure it is way beyond what I can comprehend.

Lovely and beautiful interviewer. I think I’ll enjoy some more of her podcasts.
John P. Capitalist says
If I read it right, at the beginning of March, they were two weeks away from fundraising being done. Then I look three months later, and, at the beginning of June, they expect fundraising to be complete in mid or late July, around Maiden Voyage. So with three months of pedal-to-the-metal crush regging, they’ve actually fallen farther away from their goal than they were when they started?
Clearly, it’s raw steely competence that got Quinn Taufer “promoted” to his WUS management post.
My other favorite part is where they talk about how they’re going to train the 350 staff they’ll have in the Org when it’s done. I can’t imagine where they will get 35 suckers to join staff much less 350, unless they pull in another 350 Sea Org from Clearwater.
DMSTCC says
Re Quinn…
03-Mar-15 Quinn read the 5 Step line-up on how to get our construction funding complete in the next 2 weeks. Yay!
10-Mar-15 get construction going and this is LRH week and we have a lot of down stats and we need to kick it in gear so we can start the construction phase
17-Mar-15 briefed us on the new program to get the construction funding complete.
24-Mar-15 briefed us on the detailed target to get the construction funding complete this week.
31-Mar-15 detailed production hats for the next week: letters, call-in and fundraising.
14-Apr-15 June 1st is the target for Valley Ideal Org fundraising completion!
21-Apr-15 The target for Valley Ideal Org fundraising completion is in the weeks following the MV events in July.
26-May-15 Quinn is at Albuquerque on very important project

John P., you beat me to my comment. As re this talking point by “Mr.” Harrison explaining how the 350 Valley Org staff would be trained, I was wondering exactly how many of these chickens being counted have actually hatched.

I think I’ll go get an ice cream cone now to get my havingness up.
DollarMorgue says
You can report that stat to Valley!
Aquamarine says
🙂
Chee Chalker says
How do they determine ‘active members’ in the OT minutes? Like every other Scientology stat, do they pull it out of their a$$ or is it actually based upon reality?
Jenni S says
Active members are those who attended the OTC meeting or did anything that could be counted as a stat, like starting or finishing a course, holding an event, etc.
Kathy H. says
And even then the number is pathetically small!
hgc10 says
The red highlights are hilarious. This has got to be the droopiest group of sad sacks on any pseudo-continent on this planet. They are so desperate for a reason to exist that they have stooped to crowing about how someone brought their mutt along to one of their pointless meetings.
And I love how Kathy has to pass the tin cup to try to get to Maiden Flogging.
Jens TINGLEFF says
Hey! I would probably prefer to spend some time with the dog, if the alternative was an OTC committee…
And, yes, it’s hilarious that one of the result achievers is struggling to make it to the boat.
STAY AWAY, KATHY!
SILVIA says
Interesting to see this OTC minutes in sequence; “we will deliver…” “we will help….” when the building is done. Always in the future. The delusion further blinds the members.
IF GAT were as good, extraordinary, monumental, KSW 100%, etc. you would not need years and buildings to start ‘delivering’ help. The scam goes on.
Anon1212 says
You know, this is a notable point. The OTC isn’t actually doing any “helping” of church activities outside their own group. It’s all internal fundraising. It’s like trying convincing the IRS that my groceries should be tax free because I make dinner for my husband – a laughable notion. Cooking for your family is a right, but it’s not a tax-deductible right.
Aquamarine says
Yes, Sylvia, all of their “dones” are actually “will be doings” (future) or, at best “are doings” (present) and these idiots – IDIOTS! – and they’re OTs, it just kills me – these idiots puff themselves up like they’ve got “dones”. Actually, their “dones” are hardly ever mentioned, no doubt because the actual stats are so pathetic.
Valerie says
How is it that is so hard for a group of 50-60 OTs to raise a few bucks if they are supposed to be the most able people on the planet? Just askin . . .
Jenni S says
The ideal org strategy is totally “we must have before we can do.”
alexdevalera says
Absolutely! A sane attitude would be: let’s do the best we can with what we have. What they are doing is like pretending you need a Rolls to be a cab driver.

Valley Org has already provided us Great Unwashed On The Fringes Of The Internet with one Valuable Final Product: their fundraising deadline is one of the best demonstrations of Zeno’s Paradox ever.
John P. Capitalist says
Actually, it’s worse than Zeno’s paradox. In that, you assume that Achilles is faster than the tortoise, but despite that, he can’t overcome the tortoise’s lead. But one side effect is that the distance between Achilles and the tortoise always gets smaller over time.
Here, however, it’s even worse. The turtle (the fundraising goal) is getting farther ahead.
I’d be interested to see why their fundraising deadline is getting further away. Did they raise the budget? Did people get money back?
If Achilles can’t catch the tortoise, it’s not embarrassing because he’s demonstrating one of the great ancient thought experiments. If the cult makes negative progress on raising money in the greatest concentration of Scientologists on earth, they should just close the doors now.
jgg2012 says
Nah, they’ll just ask Nancy Cartwright for another $10 million.
Ann B Watson says
Hi jgg2012, You are very probably right. However the way I feel now I don’t care if she or anyone else gives 10 billion $.Money is money & it can’t dry tears mend families keep that old rust bucket afloat forever or change true black hearts to white. The goose is still roasting beneath all the cos bs that they spew out at every opportunity.I truly see the light now.Money can buy the world it can not fix the mess that The SO the Bridge auditing OT levels & the cos has become.Celebs & whales may have to face the fact one day they are going down with the ship along with staff. When no one new cares they are left together with the broken tech & policies used against so many.End of rant.
