They have beaten the dead horse and it has nothing left.
This mighty OT Committee in the home of the largest concentration of scientologists on earth, with THE most important ideal org in history (according to them) managed to get a grand total of 9 people to their meeting and rounded up $80 and the whole OTC got 7 “starts” (probably extension courses).
This “ideal org” strategy is a total fail at everything except increasing the wealth of the church.
It exhausts people who may have once been enthusiastic contributors.
It drives away those who cannot afford to keep giving.
It distracts the orgs from doing what they SHOULD be doing according to the policies of L. Ron Hubbard (and if you have any doubt about that, read the Ideal Orgs PL itself and then take a glance at the policy entitled The Business Of Orgs).
And when they are finally pronounced dead and Sea Org Reserves steps in (like here or Los Gatos), the air rushes out of the balloon and they are left sitting on the ground with a few bedraggled and exhausted people wondering what they are going to do next. They are supposed to be reaching the stars and instead they are anchored to terra firma by a large chunk of MEST. And they have nothing left to reinflate their balloon.

REFUNDS
Read the article by Jeffrey Augustine on Tony Ortega’s blog this morning. He lays out very clearly the problems scientology has squaring what was told to the IRS and what they do in the real world, and why the IRS should be interested in hearing from those who have been denied refunds/repayments…
It is an article everyone should read.
thetaclear says
Has anyone actually filled any of those IRS complaint forms that Jeffrey is talking about ? That’s actually an excellent strategy. I am sure that we can come up with at least 1,000 of those from many Indies and Ex(es). This is something really worth trying. But a lot of volume is needed.
Anyone interested enough ?

Aquamarine says
“They are supposed to be reaching the stars and instead they are anchored to terra firma by a huge chunk of MEST.”
Beautifully said; utterly sad.
Aquamarine says
From ancient times there have been writings to the effect that spiritual enlightenment is not obtained thru wealth and material possessions.
Some faiths took this to mean that money and possessions were of themselves evil and their possession would inhibit or prevent someone altogether from reaching higher spiritual states. (By the way, I think that’s just as nonsensical and unworkable as would be heavy emphasis on wealth.)
But it really is quite sad that Still In Scientologists have been persuaded to believe that Scientology cannot be delivered without a particular type of building. I’m still amazed that a number of the older, auditor and otherwise trained Still Ins have been persuaded to believe this.
Mike Nimble says
No Rathbun comment allowed?
Point remains. Why isn’t he lobbying the IRS to rescind their original decision with all the zeal that he showed when getting it instituted?
Why isn’t he knocking down doors to tell them that he lied to them and deceived them and that the decision was made in bad faith?
If he isn’t, he is continuing the evil work of the “church” even after having left it.
Mike Rinder says
You have no idea what you are talking about. I try to avoid these sort of comments and they just end up generating a flood of conjecture.
You have no idea what he is or isnt doing. You (and others) appear to think that because you are unaware of something, it doesnt happen. And as a corollary, seem to think people should report on what they do because you are owed it as a birthright?
Second, you have no idea what the state of the church was when the IRS granted exemption and whether it was or was not in compliance with the IRS regulations.
Third, you could deduce that it was his JOB he was doing. He doesn’t have a job today that requires him to do anything vis a vis scientology. He has done plenty to help bring an end to the abuses of scientology.
Have you done anything?
Is this even your real name or do you post under a pseudonym?
GTBO says
You tell him Mike, he’s probably a troll anyway
Mike Nimble says
Yeah, let’s all pile on, huh? Anyone making uncomfortable statements must be a troll. I note your pseudonym! I guess we can disregard anything you say from now on. Or are *you* a troll?????
John Locke says
Mike Nimble, making accusations that you don’t know are true, while knowing that you don’t know, (“Why isn’t he lobbying the IRS to rescind their original decision with all the zeal that he showed when getting it instituted?”) is VERY much Troll like behaviour. Why are you surprised that a reader would consider you a troll?
Robert Almblad says
Yes, Marty has done plenty. I agree.
We are watching the evolution of a cult.
Each of us play a role…
Mike Nimble says
All right. It’s a fair cop. I do not know what he is or isn’t doing. Maybe he is knocking down the doors at the IRS trying to right this wrong.
My larger point remains. He is still answerable for deeds he did in Scientology that have ongoing consequences even though he himself is out.
I do not know what the state of the church was back then. But are you saying that CoS played it straight with the IRS? That they negotiated in good faith? Thay they did indeed deserve 501(c) status?
Third, I don’t think you want to go down the “only doing his job” road. “He committed these terrible acts but that’s okay because he was only doing his job.” We’ve heard that before, mid-20th century, and it didn’t cut ice then either.
I confess to having done little to end the abuses of scientology. On the other hand, I didn’t perpetrate any of them either. So we’re all square. Or maybe I’m one up on you?
Of course this is a pseudoynm. That’s basic prudence on the internet. The only people who should post under their real names are people for whom their name is their brand. You, for instance. A golf coach shopping for business for another. Someone posting their resume looking for a job. Me, on my own (real) web site advertising my real business, for another.
If you want to invalidate my words on the basis of a pseudonym, then most of the comments on your blog are by extension invalid.
I didn’t want to have an argument with you. Nor did I wish to upset you but I guess I put my foot in it. I think you do good work and I know you have suffered a lot of anguish and I genuinely wish you all the best.
But my main point still stands.
RogerHornaday says
Mike Nimble, whatever Marty Rathbun has done in the past is his business not yours. It is he who will suffer the consequences and enjoy the rewards for his actions not you. If you have a personal beef with him you should discuss the matter with him like a man and stop belly-aching about him in public like a two year-old child.
Mike Rinder says
Your “main point” doesn’t “stand” at all as you admit you have no idea what he is or isn’t doing.
And though I am most likely wasting my time, let me try to explain it in simple terms without going into the details of the IRS Code and the many legal precedents on this issue.
Simply stated, yes, I do believe that in 1993 the churches of scientology were in compliance with IRC 501(c)3.
TOday, I do not believe this is the case.
The factors I believe are disqualifying:
1. Accumulation of too much unspent money — due to the IAS and the “ideal org strategy”. Neither existed in 1993.
2. Refusal to return funds, even money on account. Did not exist in 1993.
3. No corporate boards — complete control of all aspects of all organizations by a single dictator. Not the case in 1993.
There is an argument that the violations of public policy — acts of violence, human trafficking (not nearly so prevalent in 1993) could be a justification for revocation of exempt status, but the FBI was not able to make that case stick though they tried for 2 years, there is no way the IRS could do a better job than that.
Have you even written to your congressman or approached the IRS in any way as you seem so concerned about this matter?
Or is it really only a “concern” that raises its head as a reason to disparage Marty Rathbun?
lynnfountaincampbell says
Actually, I don’t believe their corporate boards were ever for real. Officers had to submit undated resignations when they were appointed, and “minutes of meetings” were generated on an as-needed basis. There were never really any board meetings — not where I was anyway.
Mike Rinder says
Well, that’s true, But there was a WDC and a CMO Int and an Exec Strata and some semblance of organizational form. Even the IAS was not “run” by anyone in RTC or CSI. And CST was not either. Today everything is run by Miscavige.
Observingsandiego says
@mike nimble- everyone’s journey out of cos is their own, Marty has been very vocal in his criticism of the church, has worked with law enforcement, given depositions, has given help to countless people trying to leave & has helped them on the road to recovery. He has helped many people who frequent this blog and post here. And none of us can assume he is or isn’t doing something unless he tells us.
Ann B Watson says
Hi Mike,I cannot resist.Quote from a “poster” “the only people who should post under their real name are those whose name is their brand” Ha ha ha! Ridiculous!! Love U,Ann.
awakeatlast says
First Time Poster but long time lurker here. I saw an article in LATimes Saturday and I haven’t seen it on any other sights. These two people were/are long time “Cherch” Members of the highest order (in their minds anyway). Both are in jail as of Saturday I understand and in BIG trouble. Dror Soref and Michele Seward. I tried to attach the link and my computor is bonkers. So search LA Times Ponzi Scheme and it’ll come up. Also here’s something I found that Michele wrote. Seems she and “The Fat Actress Krusty” were involved in a flap/lawsuit and Michele ended up leaving the Church for other reasons. Geez, so much drama around the Church lately. Glad I’m gone.

Observingsandiego says
‘This “ideal org” strategy is a total fail at everything except increasing the wealth of the church.’
I’m not even sure about that being true – yes it increases their property holdings but the money spent on over the top decorations and marble Etc throughout the buildings wouldn’t necessarily be reflected in any sale price of said building. The wealthy families of the early 20th century (Vanderbilt comes to mind) could attest to not getting money back out of lavish interior decorations (all of those mansions sold for land value and torn down in NYC after having millions spent on interior). I’d imagine anyone buying a cos building would want to make massive changes to that hideous interior dm loves. So maybe even that part is a fail.
RogerHornaday says
I don’t think eighty dollars buys much eternity. It might buy all eighteen of the OT’s a hamburger lunch but only if they skip the drink and fries.
Old Surfer Dude says
Yeah, but, what good is sandwich without a drink and fries??? Roger, have you gone mad?
Ann B Watson says
Hi Mike,I am off topic quite abit recently(old age) but wanted to relay TC came to Baton Rouge and went to the LSU-Florida game, posed for a pix with an older couple did not see anyone else about with him at the timeWeird with a capital W. Sorry he did not get an invite to our little viewing party! Poor TC you definitely missed out! Always,Ann.
Observingsandiego says
Great tidbit Ann, thanks for sharing. Of course he was alone, no one in Hollywood wants to hang out with him and he is too big of a being to hang out with any lowly cos members. Dm must have been unavailable to attend, he’s busy handling everything you know, he’s the only one that can. Haha.
Ann B Watson says
Hi Observinginsandiego, Thank you still strange to me all this TC stuff. But I hear tell he shopped @ Whole Foods here when filming Something Oblivion, don’t ask me I am terrible with titles remember plots however. We shop there occasionally and if I had seen him and he had asked me to pass the tomatoes ,smile, I would have said certainly here you are,but not a word more.Love,Ann.
statpush says
You gotta admit, Scnists do not give up easily. Maybe it’s after years of persisting going up the Bridge? No matter how bleak things look, there will always be a core group of die-hards who will stick it out to the bitter end.
Old Surfer Dude says
Hey, I don’t mind. At least they’ll be people to make fun of.
They don’t give up because they don’t want to lose their eternity. In my time, that phrase was NEVER used! I never, ever heard the words, “Your Eternity.” Must be something Davy farted out and used.
Ann B Watson says
Hi OSD, That is the thought.I was a very young starpup or kitten or babe in the woods, but I never read or heard Ron use the phrase “your eternity”either. Are we that old or on the same track? Smile,Love,Ann.
Old Surfer Dude says
Well, first, YES! We are, indeed, that old! But I do like the name, “Starpup!”
So…you never heard “your eternity” either. I wonder when it started. Anyone?
The Oracle says
Great article by Jeffrey. He mentions the Church lied in it’s documentation to U.S. Gov. It is also a crime to submit a false report to U.S. Gov.
I personally believe U.S. Gov granted tax status to keep them out of the halls of Washington. It was a total depower on the CofS to grant them “Church” status. As Church and state have to be separate.
Doubt it was legal for the CofS to take “Church” status then sponsor with it’s tax exempt money, domestic terrorist groups such as OSA and CCHR.
Not sure it even matters since membership has crashed through the floor.
U.S. Gov gave Miscavige everything he wanted on a silver platter, enough rope to hang himself with, and he did. They are just watching him swing now.
I Yawnalot says
Interesting take on things, Oracle… I wonder just how accurate that is.
There was a rumour once that Jimi Hendrix posed quite a threat too. His power to incite whatever he liked in so many, so quickly gave the establishment the hibbie jibbies. Black power in those days was seen as very much a threat, Black Panther, Mohammad Ali and all.
Observingsandiego says
Haha I yawn, that is very true, the other mighty ‘captain’ J Edgar felt people like Jimi Hendrix, the sclc (Martin Luther King), etc held too much power. All while denying there was organized crime in the US and insisting their were communists everywhere. He was also a very paranoid, borderline insane individual. Sounds like someone we know.
I Yawnalot says
There’s some disturbing stuff to dig up if one looks at that era. But I suppose if one looks hard enough there’s always a miscavige type lurking somewhere.
Ann B Watson says
Hi I Yawnalot, Always enjoy your posts.Ah, Mr.Jimi, had tickets to his 1970 concert in Boston,Mass.Years later when I had my first bout of colon cancer, way after the anesthetic had worn off and I was alone in the bed,he told me I would survive. His concert in Hawaii on my birthday is in the movie Rainbow Bridge.Knew that we all were in FBI files. My late Dad who was instrumental at starting Mutuel Funds in Japan in 1960, never gave me any indication he had guns. One day in 1960 rooting around his sock drawer I found a Baretta and a Glock. Freaked me out,but then he had a Minox Camera before any one else.So my point being some of what happened to me hard to swallow but all True.Love,Ann.
I Yawnalot says
Wow! Rainbow Bridge was a great flick. My favourite tract I think of all Jimi’s stuff is Pali Gap, but All Along the Watchtower rates pretty high too. Saw an interview with a guy on TV once who stayed briefly with Jimi in a flat when he first went to England. He mentioned he saw him practice a tune on an acoustic guitar and then switched from left handed to right handed to see how it sounded – that’s wicked!
You’ve got some remarkable memories Ann!
Ann B Watson says
Hi IYawnalot,I love your memories and posts always! Pali Gap love the name even though many souls were lost over those cliffs when people came to The Islands and started dictating to the Native Hawaiians.I have a love- hate with my great grand dad,Judge Henry Cooper. He was head of the ominously named committee of safety in Hawaii and helped greatly to secure The Islands for the US.But he was terrible to the Queen at the time and she was locked in a small room in the palace for two years I believe. That was cruel I think.I would be in Hawaii still if my late Mom had not gotten terribly homesick for Boston. So at five,I came back to bean town. When Mr Jimi came to my hospital room in 1999,I should of said his presence came and I knew I would survive the surgery, that was here in Baton Rouge,Love Off Topic Ann.
statpush says
Interesting comment, Oracle. I too felt something was not right about the ’93 “victory”; that we were not being told the real story. For me, it marked the beginning of the end.
Old Surfer Dude says
Gosh, stat push, I didn’t know you were in to see that propaganda event. Glad it marked the beginning of the end of your involvement. I was out surfing….
Espiando says
The bloom is officially off the Valley rose. All of Scientology’s “beautiful people” congregated in Hawaii for the party hosted by John Travolta’s beard rather than sticking with NANCY CARTWRIGHT BART SIMPSON and her pet project. Now that Maiden Voyeur is over, the Valley OTC can’t attract twenty people for their meetings (Can you imagine the panic that occurred when nine people showed, along with the mass panic calls that took place, and they only got 18 for their next meeting?). In the meantime, nothing has been done with their Idle Morgue since Douglas D. Douglas took those photos (Hazmat removal specialists!). Expect the Sea Borg mission at any moment, Valley types. They’re coming, and they won’t be happy (or have bathed).
Hip Hip Who Cares?
Old Surfer Dude says
You know, Espi, you’re probably right. Just like the L.A. Org, and the Pasadena Org, the Sea Borgs may have their sites set on the Valley. Can you imagine Sea Borgs in the Valley? They’ll have to learn Valley speak.
Sea Borg: So, how was your session?
Public: Oh, it was totally awesome!
Sea Borg: What do you take away from your win?
Public: Oh, gag my with a spoon! It was ok, but the person who was auditing me was so ugly, I told him to bag that face! And then I was all, I’m outta here!
Sea Borg: So……did you attest?
Public: WTF are you talking about? Did I take a test? No! I didn’t take a test! You know, you people are kind of grody. It’s like you don’t know what I’m talking about. I need to flee this place and roll one up.
And from that day forward, that public was never seen again.
The End…
Cindy says
I hate to pick on certain KA drinkers, but can no longer resist. In this and many other OTC Minutes that have somehow made it to Mike’s site (who is the mole?), Div 3 in the Treasury Division of the OTC has Diane Temps posted as that head. All she ever does is “pass the hat” for donations. Wow, it’s just one big shakedown after another in the church. And also noticed that Diane Temps finished her Basic Books now, only 10 years after the Basics came out in the first place. Wow, what a stat for an OT VIII — ten years to finish the DM pet project of reading the Basics again. Woo Hoo!
Old Surfer Dude says
Now, I may be completely off base, but, was that Sarcasm 101? If so, nicely done…
Jens TINGLEFF says
“Please do not forward” and “Need pictures of all invitees”
Paranoia. I guess one more thing that $cientology does not help with. Too bad.
Old Surfer Dude says
Paranoia the destroyer….
chuckbeatty77 says
Per today’s thread on the Underground Bunker, I’ve noticed that
the IRS is the new real RTC of COS.
Talk about hat dump.
Miscavige is hat dumping RTC’s job on the IRS
Today’s Underground Bunker thread of how repayments/refunds are now a thing of the past, is Jeffrey Augustine’s KR that ought to have gone to RTC, but unhappy members owed repayments now have to engage with the IRS, since RTC (Miscavige) isn’t honoring Hubbard’s rules and not honoring the IRS agreement!
rivercs says
I’ve been wanting to ask you for a long time, chuckbeatty77: are you related to Christine Beatty? She’s my ex-husband.
Errol says
Ah Mike, Mike Mike, but you miss the fact that “smug self-satisfaction” and “haughtiness” have different
gaseous properties than mere “hot air”. They keep balloons pumped up much longer and in the lungs
of the true windbags that you have at valley; they have extraordinary power.
And when the brain is busy sending
messages to the lungs; do you really believe that it can send out “WTF?” messages as well?
Johnny Tank (Forever Autumn) says
“…and Hazardous material removal is in progress at our new building!” – so the RPF’ers have been called out, I guess..?
Volunteer Ministers (@VistaPrintScams) says
I love the fact that *real* Scientology customers inside of the criminal enterprise continue to funnel supposedly “secret” stuff like this to people who expose the core criminality. Nothing David can do to stop loyal Scientologists from exposing his crimes has ever worked. 🙂 Here Mike is, forwarding documents, emails, photos that loyal Scientology customers send in specifically to continue to expose David as a squirrel and upstart. Love it!
Aquamarine says
I love it too, Volunteer. It warms my heart and gives me hope, no sarcasm intended.
threefeetback says
Dave,
Were you able to swing by ZombiCon in Florida to get yourself into valence for your Saint Hill yanking ceremony? Looks like your diet of foie gras is giving you a quadruple chin.
Old Surfer Dude says
Dave is a wanker….as well as a yanker.
I Yawnalot says
As my lieutenant use to say, “I don’t care what you do in your spare time as long as you turn up 0700 hrs for parade.”
Old Surfer Dude says
That’s the military for ya! Get shit faced, get into a few fights, trash the bar, get slapped numerous times, but, don’t you ever show late for parade…
I Yawnalot says
Were you there too in that life? That’s the SOP all right, great times were had by all, so we keep telling ourselves.
I served with heaps of guys I knew as brothers and now I only know one. Such is life…
zemooo says
This paints a picture of one dead mOrg. All it needs is the toe tag. No wonder an ‘alliance’ between the EUS and WUS was announced a short time ago. Now all the clams in the US can keep dying mOrgs open and up their status at the same time. That ‘status’ is going to become very expensive.
I have to wonder when the ‘alliance’ between Bob Duggan and Grant Cardone will come in to rescue all these mOrgs? This calls for Duggans deep pockets and Cardones ‘salesmanship’. ‘Salesmanship’ that will just be more Sea bOrg handing out ‘invitations’ to folks at bus stops.
Someone has to save them, and it won’t be the IAS or Miscavage. At least not until the last mOrg is about to have its water and electricity shut off. Any thing else would be ‘out exchange’. Not that any real exchange has been going on in the last 20 years. Or is it 30 years?
Mike Rinder says
Cardone has been heavily in involved in “Mighty Miami” and that is going nowhere fast…
FOTF2012 says
Weird — just noticed that the OTC list of attendees does not include some of the people who were reported to be at the meeting. Don’t know if that means anything other than sloppiness?
Valerie says
Val’s Neiborhood make the planet a better place meeting minutes.
Last night we had one of our periodic neighborhood get togethers.
Someone in the neighborhood fires up a grill.
Neighbors gravitate with meat, buns, chips, beverages, desserts. All very spontaneous and spur of the moment.
Attendance was around 25 adults (down 2 because one couple was at the hospital having a baby) and oodles of children either up or down, who can count when they run around like that, half a dozen dogs and assorted cats.
Topics discussed:
Fuel to alcohol ratio in funny cars
Best spark plugs
Benadryl anti itch cream
Best joint supplement for dogs on Amazon
The proper way to roast a marshmallow for s’mores (this was a hot topic)
When to begin solid food
Best flip flops
Then the meeting broke into groups and guy stuff (vehicle repairs) and girl stuff (not going there) was discussed
The meeting was adjourned because it was a school night.
No hat was passed.
No attendance was required.
Leftovers were divided into stacks hubby’s lunches for the next day with no thought as to whom brought what.
We knew who was and wasn’t there and fixed a plate for expectant papa and took it to the hospital for him to enjoy while he waited.
All in all, I would say our meeting was much more productive.
Old Surfer Dude says
Damn, Valerie, if I’d had known you’d be having a neighborhood get together, I would have come to help eat the leftovers.
I guess you never got around to doing a Hip, hip….
I actually have a new version: Hip, hip, GO AWAY!
Valerie says
Hey OSD you and anyone else are invited. Our next one is scheduled for whenever someone fires up the grill again. It’s usually on a weekend, but not always. I’ll be out of town this weekend unless I decide not to be. Be sure to put it on your calendar. See you there.
As for the hip hip, being the old farts of the neighborhood, we are about ready for hip hip REPLACEMENT. so yeah, no hip hip in this neighborhood.
Interesting that the ages at the party were from 6 days to 61 years. I’d like to see a scientology get together of any type that could say that – or that all of them had a good time.
Old Surfer Dude says
Hip, hip…REPLACEMENT! Now that’s some funny shit!
Ann B Watson says
Hi Valerie,Your parties sound fabulous,we all can talk medical and laugh at how years ago we swore we never would! Laughter! Yes Hip hip hip to me would now mean crutches and not a lot of jumping around! Love your posts.Ann.
I Yawnalot says
OH WOW! A real shindig! Love those impromptu thingos.
I’ve got a titanium and ceramic hip (makes plane travel real fun let me tell ya) can I attend? HUH! Please, please???
Valerie says
Sure yawn, the more the merrier.
But remember, these minutes are to be shared with, well, the whole world.
See, we don’t care who reads our stuff because it’s not sooper seekrit and all that.
Bring your own whatever – or nothing at all, you’re still welcome.
Don’t pin me down to a date, just show up and we’ll make it a party.
Old Surfer Dude says
Hey, buddy boy!!!! If they take you they HAVE to take me with you! I know your titanium and ceramic hip beats my old bones any day of the week, but, I’ve never been to a real shindig!
I Yawnalot says
That’s the secret of a good shindig, there’re so good in fact you never remember them – kind of like OT2. “What was that we did again?”
Old Surfer Dude says
I don’t remember either…
marie guerin says
+1?
Johnny Tank (Forever Autumn) says
What a win!
Mike Nimble says
I HOPE YOU AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGED LRH?????
Valerie says
LRwho?
grandeclectus says
Stats are DOWN!
Plus, they will have to figure out which one of them forwarded this super, secret, confidential meeting minutes message and got it to Mike!
TrevAnon says
Can’t they use some tech to find out who did it? Should be one or more from these 19 people:
Ben Ghiora, Bob Welch, Bobbi Kassowitz, Dali Bahat, Diane Temps, Hagit Ron, Heelah Cohen, Irad Ron, Jennifer Charm Jacobson, Kathy Welch, Lauren Perreau, Linda Massey, Marty Kassowitz, Mary Lee Krackow, Nancy Parodi, Ofrah Bahat, Phillipa Gerson, Ralph Temps, Vered Ziv
Mike Rinder says
They send copies out to everyone they hope is part of the OTC…. This is an email that is sent around after the meetings, not a document typed at the meeting and handed out to those in attendance…
Sunny says
Bobbi and Marty Kassowitz. What does it take for these two to wake up?
Both their kids were raised in the Sea Org. Their son Jeremy killed himself, and was cut down from the rope he hung himself with by his dad, Marty.
How could they possibly still believe in this crap? It boggles the mind.
Ann B Watson says
Hi Sunny, A sad but unfortunately not uncommon situation that Scientology has always swept under the “magic carpet” for years and years.I sigh and guess the parents are still so blinded to the cult, they lose their souls literally.Love,Ann.
Observingsandiego says
That’s so sad sunny, how horrible for them. It never fails to amaze me how much people will endure without leaving the church. Well at least you and lovely Ann are out and living your lives. There is hope in that. 😉
Ann B Watson says
Hi Observinginsandiego,Thank you for what ever angel wings you want to wear. You are golden,Love,Ann.
Kevin says
$80 may not sound like a lot until you realize you could buy 16 foot-long sandwiches at Subway with that kind of money.
I Yawnalot says
Wow! is that right? Wonder if Subway needs some WISE advice, might even end up with two.
Observingsandiego says
Haha subway DID take the WISE advice and hired Jared as their spokesperson. WISE also advised them that a fun kids game on their website – where they play with Jared’s pants – would be a good idea.
I Yawnalot says
Business as usual in the Cof$ & it’s members keep digging that ditch.
The walls are getting a little closer everyday… the not quite bright can’t see that, but does that really matter?
roger gonnet says
It’s as it has always been, particularly considering insane letter to IRS from what’shisname in june 2015: scientology has never had any obligation, since it’s a “religion”.
Now, I’ve old exemples here in France and EU from people asking to be refund say, of the tens of thousands paid to the ASI… I believe one only of those was able to get it.
Now, the culkt forces people in France to sign new “sign and desist” elaborated by what the cult calls here an “attorney”.
John Locke says
Final curtain call!!!!
Best cult news in a while.
Old Surfer Dude says
But, John, I did notice a change in the OTC area. Now they underline ‘do not forward.’ Man, they’re really serious now, pal! I mean, UNDERLINED! Now that’s some serious shit! I’m sure it’ll stop all the OTC minutes from getting out to the wogs & SPs now! Underlined…the cult is taking this to a whole new level! They’re really serious this time!
John Locke says
OSD, when I saw the underline, I almost stopped and didn’t read it. Shook me up. 😉
Observingsandiego says
Haha someone finally figured out how to select underline in word ’95 edition.
Old Surfer Dude says
Word…
Old Surfer Dude says
It should shake us all up, John. I mean, they’re taking the time to underline words, What’s next? Fixing their grammar? Who knows what this will lead to…
Observingsandiego says
OSD their grammar is perfect, whatever do you mean? ?
Old Surfer Dude says
OMG, OSD2! They got to you! I can see the thousand stare in your post! Run!
Mike Nimble says
Goddammit! The “underline” tech was only supposed to be revealed in OT IX!
Nezquik says
This reminds me of the pathetic turn out at the Southern Alliance this last weekend. It’s not just the West US that’s in trouble.
Old Surfer Dude says
Southern Alliance? What, good ole boys with Confederate flags, lots of beer and pickup trucks? That kind of Southern Alliance?
Nezquik says
I wish; that would have at least been lively.
I Yawnalot says
Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,
Old times there are not forgotten.
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land!
There’s buckwheat cakes and Injun batter,
Makes you fat or a little fatter.
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
Old Surfer Dude says
Nice! Very nice…
John Locke says
That’s all we got down here by the Ol’ Dixie Hwy OSD. Although we lean more towards M14 rifles than shotguns.
No sign of scamology or its adherents.
I Yawnalot says
“Wish they’d load up that truck and move to Beverly…
Hills that is,
swimming pools, movie stars…”
and maybe sort a few of ’em out before they head to Florida.
John Locke says
OSD, we’ve set up some “check points” on I-10 Eastbound near Mobile Bay…
Old Surfer Dude says
Excellent idea, John! As I used to cross the country on I-10 when I had my big rig, I know that area well. if cult members show up, beware of the thousand yard stare! It’ll stir up your BTs!
John Locke says
I can see you now OSD, a scamologist stuck to your grill!
Old Surfer Dude says
Well…if he’s stuck to my ‘grill,’ I guess the only thing to do is fire him up. Baked scamologist. Although the taste is quite bitter…..
Ann B Watson says
Hi John Locke, I tip my cap to your post.Tis right y’all,we’ve got lots of toys alongside that Ole Dixie Highway! Gris-Gris too if anyone really gets out of line. Not my thing but hear this OSA ,there are Masters of it hereabouts! XO,Ann.
John Locke says
Ann B. Yep. I guess because I grew up like that, I cannot fathom NOT putting a DM type through the “Cuisinart” if he had attacked me. I just wasn’t raised that way…
Ann B Watson says
Hi John Locke, I understand and respect your viewpoint. I am a fighter and was for many months of tribulation from GO/I. I see what you say from a purely physical point of view, but where we may differ is when mind control is added into the mix.It may not be endosed scientifically, and believe me I think you know that I know where you and your viewpoint come from- you.My point being what happened to me is a huge factor within my Sea Org journey. As an even more petite woman now, unless I had studied Twan Auan Doe, even then I could not have fought the people who abused me.They took my soul first, the rest was easy pickings.Always,Ann
civmar says
OT Mike, I watched the scn presentation at the Australian Senate Charitable Bill hearing (from 2005, I think). Mike Ferris from the NZ CoS really blew it when being questioned by Sens Cameron and Xenophon.
Do you know what became of Ferris for making the CoS so wrong and the Senators so right?
Mike Rinder says
No, sorry. No idea.
Daisy says
He is still the front man in Auckland. Heard his name a few months ago.

george says
Los gatos org in San Jose is mostly old timers and their children . John Allender along with Patrick wehner are the ones keeping the org going from what I hear .
Old Surfer Dude says
Is that the one they call the Silicon Valley org? So, if it’s all old timers and their kids, I guess that means Silicon Valley workers, all of these high tech wiz kids, are giving the cult a pass. Who would have thunk it…
Observingsandiego says
haha OSD, they all are too well versed on using the Internet to look things up. Those wiz kids. 😉
Old Surfer Dude says
I imagine that the cult is the laughing stock of Silicon Valley.
ed says
Los Gatos was always a relatively small org. Very few people there even a decade ago. Silicon Valley org is the new name for mountain view org. They’ve been fundraising for their way to large org for many years. It ain’t working.
Aquamarine says
Ed, maybe they believe they need a big org in case Google employees start pouring in. Fat chance, but possibly that’s the justification used.
george says
Los Gatos org was heavily protested. By anonymous it made a lot of people in San Jose aware of the cults tactics
thegman77 says
Reading their stats, Mike, reminds me of the lyrics from a song in the musical, “Lost In the Stars”…
“Down, down, down, down, three miles, four miles, five miles down…”
And these are “leaders”? Who supposedly have some intelligence? And perceptions?
Wow!
Old Surfer Dude says
Intelligence & perceptions? They’ve never, ever word cleared those.
I Yawnalot says
They were too busy wording clearing money.
Old Surfer Dude says
Ah, yes. I totally forgot about that!
